I have more digital games than physical copies however I do check prices before I make a purchase since on occasion a physical game can be cheaper.

Obviously, if the game you want to purchase is new you are going to pay full price but if you don't mind keeping your eyes out for sales (both digital and physical) then you can get bargains.

@InKnight7s

You are quite right in saying that a digital game can't be traded or given away ...

By default the 'Featured Content’ checkbox is unchecked but it would be best to check this.

The 'Featured Content’ checkbox is in Settings > System > Automatic Downloads

By default it is unchecked but it doesn't hurt to check.

The feature has nothing to do with whether you download digital games. By default the ‘Featured Content’ checkbox is unchecked.

If you buy a digital game you have the option of immediately downloading or deferring until a later time. This is pretty much the same if you have a PS+ subscription where you only download the free games when you want to. Until then the game information is placed in your library for later download at your convenience.

The key words are "If you have enabled the ‘Featured Content’ option in Settings > System > Automatic Downloads."

By default (just checked), the box for ‘Featured Content’ is not ticked. Basically, you have to "opt-in" unlike some popular operating systems and applications.

Of course, it doesn't hurt to check (takes a few seconds) if you are worried about downloading stuff you don't want.

True, however, Nintendo is hoping most family or household members will get one which sort of puts the Switch in direct competition with the 3DS and 2DS. http://www.nintendolife.com...

While the Switch is can be played "on the go" it is still relatively large compared to Nintendo's handhelds and mobile phones.

For some reason, I never got into Dragon Age Inquisition since I was much more interested in Bloodborne and The Witcher 3.

Now Dragon Age Origins I did like and I am very tempted to play again but this time as a city elf.

Sigh! there are just is too many games available for the PS4 that makes it very hard going back to the PS3 much less PS2 games (I do have a working FAT PS3).

@chiefJohn117

Backward compatibility for the PS4 would have been a great system seller on release, however, after two years backward compatibility only becomes a value-added feature since by that time most people just want to play new games. Obviously, there will always be people who will still play older games for nostalgia or catchup.

Before the PS4 and XB1 were released both Microsoft and Sony did state that their respective consoles would not support...

@subtenko

As much as I would like to agree with you I cannot even though I have a Linux distribution as my principle operating system (no dual booting) on my laptop and desktop.

Like it or not Microsoft dominates the PC market. Basically, if you purchase a PC you will normally get MS Windows 10 as the default operating system (disparagingly called "The Microsoft Tax") and for most people, they are not aware of alternatives or if they are they d...

The game was first released on the SNES and a later version was released for the Gamecube although the resolution was standard definition (NTSC and PAL) not 720p or 1080p.

Even though the game for the PS4 and supposed to be in 720p and 1080p the images look like they are sort of in DVD quality.

You could try Seiken Densetsu 3 which was released for the SNES and the Gamecube.

The SNES version of SD3 which was Japanese only was translated via fansubbers and can be played on any SNES emulator.

I originally played the game on the "Blood and broken bones" difficulty and after finishing White Orchard restarted the game on "Death March" which as you have quite rightly pointed out gives you full immersion. Somehow I doubt I could ever play the game on "permadeath".

I have unlimited broadband but 23GB is going to slow down my network for a few hours.

Still, I do have a lot of games pending (some AAA) and quite a few on my "to purchase list" so I can wait.

Talk about adding "insult to injury" the base game size is 24.76 GB and now you have to download an additional 23GB and the game is not even available till the 13th February 2018 https://gameidealist.com/ne...

Here's hoping that if you purchase the game via digital download it will have the patch applied although somehow I doubt it, still we will hav...

Well, we have 8K (4320p) with HDR available now which makes 4K (2160p) ewwwwww! 😎

Of course, you can always enjoy the household fight (compromise) over who gets to use/watch the 4K TV and for how long. Personally, I stick to a monitor, no compromises there. 😎

Still, I would rather have 1080p @ 60fps than 2160p @ 30fps for faster paced games.

When you consider that many Android devices such as smartphones and tablets have screens which are 720p, 1080p and even 2160p that is not very good.

Of course, you also have to consider that many Android devices don't have the storage space for a 40~50GB plus game so you do have to compromise, however, there are many Android games that have highly detailed sprites and environments for their games although I doubt they would have game sizes compared to what you see on c...

Well, you can make your own game that uses the Unreal engine for free although if you start to charge for the game then Unreal wants a share of the profits. https://www.unrealengine.co... Of course, you can always design and build your own gaming engine if you feel like you are being ripped off.

Like it or not making a game that can produce these so-called tech demos requires a conside...

All games that have an online component will eventually have their servers shut down. At least if you have a game that has a campaign and an online component you will still be able to play the campaign, however, if the game has online only then effectively all you are left with is coaster and/or wasted space on your console or PC.

If your PS4 or any console for that matter sounds like a blowdryer then you have a problem with heat dissipation from your heatsink.

It is always a good idea to clean your heatsink radiator on a regular basis however while dry dust is fairly easy (ie. gentle vacuum and a small paintbrush) it can be difficult to remove dust that is effectively glued to the radiator (eg. tobacco smoke plus dust).

It is also possible that the thermal paste on the heatsink ne...

The problem you have in cleaning any heat sink are the particulates that will cling to the surfaces. Normally dry dust is fairly easy to remove and "gentle" vacuum cleaning and a fine paint brush will usually suffice, however, if the particulates stick to the heatsink surfaces (eg. tobacco smoke plus dust) then the best solution is to wash the radiator which can be a much more difficult thing to do.

BTW. When I say "gentle" vacuum cleaning I mean putting...
