Well if you pick a long weapon such as a spear or halberd what do you expect. In narrow passages daggers, short swords, maces and don't forget your magic although the problem is deciding what magic to use, although any magic that takes over a second to cast is pretty useless unless you have a long corridor.
@DragonKnight
Pretty much all of "From Software" games required you to watch your stamina. This is probably off putting to gamers who are use to gam...
Since DX is propriety to Microsoft, Sony would be stupid to use it when OpenGL available in binary and source form for free.
Sure Microsoft software developers may know DX but Sony also has software developers who know OpenGl so a software performance improvement in DX can be cancelled out with a software improvement in OpenGl.
The bottom line is the PS4 still has the better hardware specifications and that is something that cannot be beaten unless the compet...
Surprisingly there are quite a few geeks that read this site and not all of them are into PC gaming (myself included) preferring console gaming instead.
As for Linux being better than Microsoft's Operation System that is a debate that really depends on what the user is comfortable with in a OS and like it or not the most dominate OS on the desktop is a Microsoft OS.
The situation is basically reversed when you look at smartphones and low end tablet market...
I have my guru creds ready and I find Fedora better. That said I am not going to try every Linux distribution since there are too many. Normally you pick the one you like and stick to it and they all use the same Linux kernel.
If you are not into PC Gaming or playing "Games for Windows" then most Linux Distributions are IMHO better than Microsoft Windows however you really need to qualify that since Microsoft Windows has more applications as well as more virus, worm...
Actually the only game by "From Software" that IMHO had a particular piece of inappropriate atmospheric music was in the PS2 game Eternal Rings. Basically in one area you had to traverse a field of poison fog. Think the poison swamp in Dark Souls without the swamp. The music was well almost "toe-tapping" which was my only nit pick of this game.
While I have always liked games by "From Software" I would like to see more randomness in enemy encount...
For those people who like Action/Adventure RPG's I would say this game is a must buy, however like the Souls series it won't be an easy game to play and for some it may prove impossible.
One of the things I like about games from "From Software" is that they make their games difficult but fair and in the Souls series you always have the + feature which adds to the difficulty.
I would think that gamers who don't like or care for A/A RPG...
Looks like the company "From Software" as done it again. This is one game that will finally push me into getting a PS4, hopefully as part of a bundle.
@Bigpappy
All the From Software games I have played from Kings Field through to the Souls series have a stamina bar which allows you to run. Of course if you have low stamina you can't run far or weal heavier weapons.
If Bloodborne has random encounters and pick-ups and even randomness in the way NPC's interact with you then I would agree with you.
Personally I will be getting Bloodborne as well as Dark Souls 2 although from what I have heard it is not as good as Dark Souls which is IMHO a fantastic game, but then again I have always enjoyed the games made by "From Software".
The Elder Scrolls games of Oblivion and Skyrim are both excellent games however even...
Personally I don't care what game gets GOTY. All people should care about is if they enjoy the games they get during the year since there are so many categories or genres as well as sub categories.
So basically a GOTY for a particular Action/Adventure RPG (eg. Witcher 3) may not be appealing to a person who likes Shooters and/or FPS's and/or Sports and/or Racing ... well you should get the picture.
Since I do like Action/Adventure and RPG's the W...
I know this sounds like nit picking but basically the two series are different from each other because of the RPG features of the Souls series and now Bloodbourne. Other than that both fall into the Action/Adventure category.
Personally I have always liked games from "From Software" however I also like the Uncharted series as well for different reasons. As for preferring one over the other that is a personal preference and IMHO should be respected as long as it is s...
3.5" HDD normally have a much larger capacity and better performance than the 2.5" variety, however they are also much larger, so to fit a larger disk into the already small PS4 means something has to shrink or expand I can't see a so called slim PS4 being bigger than it's original.
Actually you can get a "data bank" consisting of 3.5" disks and retrofit it to sit neatly on the the PS4. Not sure what the price would be though.
...
Actually instead of a slim why not increase the size of the disk (say 1TB), Memory (say 18GB) and up the CPU to 2.4 or even 3.0 GHz) while still keeping near to the original price. I can't see this happening for at least one to three years though and manufacturing cost would be a huge factor.
This is not as silly as it sounds since PC's games support low to high setting and since the PS4 is effectively a PC anyway any game purchased after the new SKU comes out will be...
Well instead of a price-cut why not a 1TB internal disk for the same price. I am sure the console would start to fly off the shelf again and Sony would not loose money since the difference between a 500GB disk and a 1TB disk would only be a few dollars especially when you consider OEM prices.
@breakpad
Backwards compatibility would be a great thing IMHO however it would have to be done in software which makes BC for PS3 games more problematic although I don...
For very little extra cost in OEM quantities I think a 1TB PS4 would be a very popular buy.
As an example: In Australia (5400rpm disks) I can get a 500GB laptop disk for AU$54 compared to AU$76 which is only an AU$22 difference. Obviously in OEM quantities the price differential would be smaller again. However I would be quite happy to pay an additional AU$20 ~ AU$30 if that meant I could get a 1TB pre-installed disk.
Of course bring out a 1TB SKU at the same...
I am sure Microsoft share holders will be really delighted with that proposal.
I would say nearly everyone on this forum has a PC of some sort, however not everyone prefers gaming on a PC.
As for more people game on PC's. Have you taken into account the Android and IOS market of which there are 100's of millions of gamers who can like any thing from casual games like Angry Birds and Solitaire to more complex games like RPG's and Strategy just to name a few. You can even go on-line and compete against other players.
If you ...
Not sure why you got those disagrees when the articles are readily available. I can sort of understand "fanboyism" but refusing to concede when the evidence is there is IMHO just plain rabid fanboyism.
To quote: “Building off a record-setting holiday, we are excited to announce a new promotion in which fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One at a special price of $349, starting tomorrow, January 16, from their preferred retailer,” said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice Pres...
It is important to realise that the Uncharted series has always been in the Action/Adventure category with an emphasis on the scenery so lower frame-rates providing they remain fairly solid are acceptable.
FPS's and Driving games put more emphasis on speed and usually a reduction in detail so 60 fps is almost mandatory. After-all who cares about the detail of an enemy's uniform when a delay of a few milliseconds to look means you get "owned" :-)
Since the PlayBox is a PS4 and XB1 combo why not take the HDMI-out from the PS4 and connect it to the HDMI-in of the XB1 and feed it's HDMI-out to the HDTV. That just requires an additional off the shelf 0.5 meter cable. While the tech explanation was almost non existent that is a very simple and logical thing to do.
Now all you need is a HDMI-out and a HDMI-in on on the PlayBox and from a HDMI perspective everything will work. From the picture of the internals it appears...
IMHO the Sega version of Ghost n goblins was harder than the SNES one but no matter which platform that game was brutal.
