Ok by VGcharts hardware totals Sony's PSVita is approx 9.9 million compared to Nintendo's 3DS 50.5 million which on first glance would appear to be a disaster for the PSVita.

In reality 10 million PSVita handhelds is still a reasonable incentive to make games for it and since you can integrate game-play with the PS3 and PS4 that is a big incentive when you are looking at over 100 million consoles.

Personally I am not really into handhelds preferring c...

Yes I am quite sure Halo will sell well in the US and other countries that have a relatively strong Xbox presence, however because there are so few XB1's sold in Japan I seriously doubt that it will be a console seller there.

I would hazard a guess and state that RPG's (eg. Dragon's Quest, Final Fantasy... just to name a few) or ARPG's (eg. Souls series) are more popular than First Person Shooters in Japan.

Of course I could be wrong but if An...

I do agree with what you said but since the XB1 has such a small presence in Japan there is little if any incentive to sub or even dub games for the Japanese market.

Some Japanese game developers are making games for the XB1 since there is a market but unless there is an incentive (ie. money) for exclusivity then those games will be cross console.

At the moment the number of XB1's sold in Japan is abysmal compared to the PS4's numbers so Japanese lang...

I fully agrre with what you have just said.

I think if people want Lore then you can't go wrong than to play games like Skyrim and even Oblivion because there are a huge amounts of books you can read (some long some short) and some of those books will raise your skill points so it always pays to open them up.

Depending on the RPG you can have a simple or very deep story, character development, customisation etc. It is really up to the player to do this, s...

In all the Souls games and even in the Kings Field series you still have to to tread carefully since you don't know when and by what you are going to be attacked. Some of your attackers can be very fast indeed leaving you very little time to dodge or even to defend.

That said I have not played Dark Souls 2 yet but if you had problems with it you're going to have even more problems with Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. Since I have not played Bloodborne yet I would as...

Personally I have always liked the games from "From Software" which includes the original King's Field series. I have played both Demon's Souls and Dark Souls and enjoyed them both.

So far I have not purchased Dark Souls 2 mainly because I was hoping it was going to come out for the PS4 which so far I have not purchased for a variety of reasons, one of them is I am playing Skyrim with all all three DLC.

If you look at my posts I like Action...

That is your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it, however many non rabid fan-boys will also disagree with and you unless you can be more specific you can't blame them.

@Immorals

In other articles they do praise the PS4 but in this article there is no mention of the PS4 and it is this article we are commenting on.

@WilDRangeRfc

Why is Angeljuice trolling? He is stating an opinion and he is certainly entitled to it, especially since he is not being derogatory about it.

I have said this before and will say it again. Gamers like different Genres or gaming categories and not all gamers like Shooters even though the people who do "rabidly" like those games feel that everyone must like what they like.

Personally I like Action/Adventure and/or RPG&#...

Multi-player does add re-playability to some games however most of those games are shooters.

The problem with a short game is that they are "short" and unless you have some sort of random encounters and possibly randomly generated settings then the replay value is virtually zero.

I will even go as far as to say that even shooters loose appeal if you are fighting in areas which don't change. This is why you have mapping capabilities so that new ...

@Bolts

Ryse "was hyped as the best looking shooter ever. Instead it ended up as a glorified movie interrupted by some occasional gun play."

Err talk about getting it wrong. Ryse was set in ancient Roman times (about 2000 years ago) and guns were not invented or even used then. As for a "shooter" well you could you bow and arrows but mainly it was "hack and slash".

That is what is know as the Cinemascope which has an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 so on a 16:9 aspect ratio HDTV you are going to get black bars top and bottom (letter-boxing). Of course you can buy a Cinemascope HDTV and the problem will be solved, however you will then get black bars left and right when you get 16:9 aspect ratio content.

Still if content providers want to display 2.4:1 aspect ratio content I don't mind top and bottom letter-boxing on a 16"9 aspect ratio H...

From the article most of what I read I could agree with but when at the end the reviewer stated that the game did not have multi-player which (to him) would have added to the re-playability of the game he lost (in my eyes) credibility.

What IMO give a single player re-playability is a random encounter factor which gives the feeling that things are happening differently. The problem with most relatively short games that are story driven is even random encounters don't add ...

800p? well it depends on how you view the game.

You are right, what you see is Cinemascope which has an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 so basically you are going to see black bars top and bottom of a 16:9 aspect ratio HDTV, however if you care to look you will see your HDTV is still displaying 1080p.

What people have the right to complain about is when the console has to up-scale a 900p game to 1080p so it can be displayed at 1080p on a 16:9 aspect ratio HDTV, which i...

Not everyone likes MP or Coop but I do prefer games that have at least 20 hours playtime and have a good reply value which usually means some randomness in how the game plays.

That said, I did like the on-line mode in the Souls series however I have never been interested in MP and especially on-line only games no matter how good (that's subjective) they are.

When I buy a game I want to enjoy it for the challenge and if I feel that the game is good I want...

There is nothing wrong with having the game on normal providing that difficulty is not insultingly easy although that is in the eyes of the player.

Playing a game that allows you to change the difficulty on the fly (eg Oblivion and Skyrim) is also fine but personally I normally set the difficulty level at the start of the game and won't change it although I may make it harder if the game starts to become too easy. If that is the case I will normally restart the game on th...

The game designers have made the game for a Cinematographic look so unless you have a HDTV that has the same aspect ratio you are going to have black bars top and bottom.

On the other hand you can buy HDTV's that have a 2.4:1 aspect ratio but will have vertical black bars when you get 16:9 aspect ratio games.

I have said this before but the choice of a 16:9 aspect ratio by most HDTV manufactures is a compromise for the different aspect ratios that some ...

Since PC's can play PS1 games via emulator the PS4 could also do this if Sony provided an emulator. Now a PS2 emulator IMHO would be so much better since PS2 games look reasonably good graphically on my 55" HDTV. Unfortunately PS1 games (all PS3's play PS1 disks) don't look all that good graphically although there is nothing wrong with the game-play.

As for PS3 games on the PS4 well I doubt if an emulator will be made although it may be possible to translate ...

I fully agree. I have always liked the games from "From Software" and have played Kings Field through to Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. All of these games are long and were challenging especially the Souls series.

Personally I do like Action/Adventure and/or RPG's and the Souls series is excellent. I also like the Elder Scrolls series beginning with Oblivion then Skyrim and while the default difficulty is a pretty good although it can be made harder although ...

Actually I always up my stamina first and strength second before I worry about HP. Normally I only level up to 15 or 20 max depending how comfortable I am with the build so I have to be careful how I allocate my stats.

I don't really worry much about magic since it takes over a second to activate (hand flame is much faster) and a person who is skilled in weapon combat can take out even a high level magic user very quickly although it is very risky against a level 15 pyrom...
