Controlling a dragon has been done quite a few times. I actually have two PS2 games where you can do just that. Even on the PS3 there are also some games were you control the dragon if you like playing those types of games. I know I do.

One PS3 game with dragons that did not get a very good recommendation was Lair which relied on the gamer knowing how to use the 6 axis controller properly. That is no jerky or sudden movements. Actually R&C Tools of Destruction had a simil...

Not really they still have their shareholders to worry about.

From what I can gather the exclusive games are:

Happy Dungeons (2016)
Shooting Love Trilogy (TBA)
Natsuki Chronicle (TBA 2015)

Students of Round 2 (TBA 2017)
Stranger of Sword City (early 2016)
Raiden V (TBA 2015)
ReCore (TBA)

Scalebound (Winter 2016)

Lots of TBA's there and "TBA 2015" what does that mean? You o...

You are quite right. Setting up a single point of purchase for gaming be it on the XB1 or the PC could be very lucrative for Microsoft, however this has now drawn the ire of companies like Steam and I don't think it will be long before we see some litigation or some other type of action and Microsoft is no stranger to that.

Command line entry is available for both Microsoft Windows (DOS based) and Mac's (Unix Based). As for automation that depends on what you want since you can have automatic or manual updates.

I could sort of understand MS Windows hiding access to the command line but IOS which is actually based on BSD Unix appears to be embarrassed that such a thing exits which is kind of odd since I have been using Unix GUI's since 1981 with my first one being on BSD.

Sure as you grow older you may give up games entirely for other forms of recreation but like it or not games of some type are an integral part of our lives from passive watching to active gaming and not necessarily computer gaming.

Actually as you get older and start working you would probably get a PC either for work related or social reasons which can include gaming.

You are quite right in saying that consoles are going to be relevant in the years to come s...

Another comment my Microsoft's Head of Xbox Phil Spencer on Sony. Does he have a fetish on all things Sony does?

It would be more appropriate touting Microsoft's products than commenting on Sony's.

While I do agree with you I am not quite sure what he was trying to say.The impression I got was he was he was trying to have it both ways by praising VR and downplaying it as far as social interaction.

Sort of wishy washy.

Sony focuses on lots of different projects and subsequent research. The PlayStation division is just one which has it's own budget and goals. I would also assume the division that is researching VR is part of the TV group and working with the PlayStation group.

The PS4 and even the XB1 have been built and are selling quite well, however gaming PC's which are in the minority and much more expensive will always have the better performance.

It is nice yo...

Just imagine you have a VR headset on with 7.1 equivalent headphones.

Example: You are sailing down a river, look left you can see the left bank and you can see mangroves with appropriate wildlife. Look right and you see the mangroves and also appropriate wildlife. Look down and you can see your feet and the bottom of the boat.

Now look up and what is that black dot that appears to be heading rapidly towards you?

The above example could be fr...

Well that's a very childish attitude. Yes, price is important however it also depends on what you are getting for the price.

A simple example.

How much would you pay for a 55" or larger HDTV or UHDTV for that matter? I can't see you getting one of those for $150.00.

With a VR headset you could have a 100" or more HDTV for your own personal use. In fact everywhere you look you would see what is projected to your eyes and tha...

I do have a 55" HDTV and PS2 games still are graphically acceptable when played via my BC PS3. Some PS2 games are almost as good graphically as first generation PS3 games.

PS1 games appear to be very grainy and don't look all that great on my HDTV although they would probably look better on a 26" (big for it's day) or smaller TV.

Note: I still have the first Tomb Raider and the graphics are very grainy on my TV to the point were I am not rea...

While I am one of those who will play older games for nostalgia reasons I fully agree with what you said and have said similar things on many occasions.

From a software perspective it would not be overly hard to allow PS1 and PS2 emulation on the PS4. PS3 emulation is another matter entirely.

Overall PS1 and PS2 emulation would definitely be a cool feature although not an essential feature. Of course I would definitely use it but most people wouldn't.

If PS1 and PS2 software emulation is made available on the PS4 it would be nice to be able to install them as well.

As for Trophies for original PS1 and PS2 games I very much doubt that will happen unless you purchase a digitally remastered game.

3889d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

You may not but there are quite a few people that would.

I am fortunate to have a backwards compatible PS3 however my PS3 (PAL region) is a mixture of hardware and software emulation and while I can read and play all my PS2 games, three of my games hang/crash at certain areas in the game. This is not due to scratches since my games are in extremely good condition.

If a firmware update or software was made available for the PS4 to be able to read, install and play PS2 and possibly PS1 games then that would be extra icing on the cake.

Even on my BC PS3 PS2 games still look quite graphically acceptable on my HDTV. PS1 games (all PS3's will play PS1 game disks) while playable appear very grainy although they are more acceptable on a smaller screen.

No it won't. Only games that are suitable for VR will be made, such as some puzzle and first person perspective games. Most of the games that will be made will work on a VR headset which will effectively make it look like you are playing using a massive screen.

Having head tracking for VR is important however if you are playing a game or even passively watching a TV program or a movie were the screen should remain fixed then head tracking is definitely not wanted.

The human body and it's senses have limitations and game designers have to take those into account when designing a game.

The only way around those limitations is to tap directly into the brain. However taping into the brain has limitations as well compared to the processing speed of a computer.

Virtual Reality headsets would probably work quite well for games that use a first person perspective. As an example a FPS game could benefit however too much requirement on moving the head may result in a neck injury.

For games that use a third person perspective the VR headset would work best as just a glorified TV in that the screen being so close to your eyes would appear huge.

When designing games for a VR headset or games in general you have to take in...

While I did like FFX I personally think that FFXII had much better features.

I don't like stating one Final Fantasy games is better than another since they all have their pluses and minuses. The only ones I have not played are FF1 to FF3 and FF9 although I am not including FF11 and FF14 since I don't play online.
