I fully agree with all the points you brought up and of course everyone has their own preferences.
@uth11
Nothing wrong with having physical media, however as the adult gamer in the house it really is your responsibility to make sure your kids know how to handle and manage the physical media.
Digital is fine if you don't mind the download which as we have seen may also have ridiculously large patch sizes as well which is IMHO poor program...
I have not got a PS4 yet for a variety of reasons, the main one being that I am still playing my backlog of PS3 games.
This is good news for me what with an up and coming price drop, the new 12XX version (less power usage) and of course the 1TB disk which is not only a few dollars more than the 500GB one.
Bloodborne has always been a must buy for me whe I do get a PS4 since I really do like the games by From Software and that is going back to the first King...
Actually the name "Star Wars Battlefront" was also for a PS2 game that was released on September 20, 2004 which had single and multiplayer components.
Before anyone pipes up and states that the PS2 did not have network multiplayer capability, it did, however network capability was a separate purchase and over 80 games were made that supported this.
Trivia aside. For the latest SW-Battlefront game not to have a single player campaign is fine for poss...
Actually you can tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps, although it actually gets harder if you have a monitor or HDTV with a decent refresh rate.
As an example I have a HDTV with a 200/240Hz refresh rate and in an adventure game I can pan around without having the screen blur. On my son's 50/60Hz HDTV panning appears blurry even on the same game.
What is not acceptable is having a game with slowdown or jerkiness during action sequences.
Frame rate and resolution are both important and there should always be a balance between them.
If you have a game with allot of action then frame rate takes precedence over resolution. Similarly if you there is little action then resolution takes precedence, although slow down and jerky movements are not acceptable in all cases.
What is also important is the refresh rate of your monitor, HDTV or UHDTV and it amazing that some gamer's (well want to be one...
Scalebound wont be out till late 2016 and it will have quite a bit of competition when it does.
As for Halo, Gears of War and Forza - rinse repeat! Of course if you like those games then fine but there are many people that don't really care for Shooters and Racing games.
Rare Replay - remaster of old Rare games. This is not to say that Rare games are bad but they are only new if you have not played them before. This is no different to remasters of other p...
I played and completed Tomb Raider 1 and 2 but sort of dropped TR 3 half way through and since then I just can't seem to get back into playing the later releases of TR even though I have tried.
@triplec
I definitely agree. The TR formula IMHO is different to the original.
As for Uncharted - Drake's Fortune that is the only game that I have played though three times, each time picking a higher difficulty.
For an Xbox controller via the converter to the PS4 - all buttons and thumb-sticks should work, however since there is no touch-pad or 6 axis on the Xbox controller those features will be missing.
For a PS4 controller via the converter to the XB1 - all buttons and thumb-sticks should work but there is bound to be some functionality particular to the XB1 controller that will be missing.
Basically you are better off getting the controller that has full function...
Some people may have problems using VR devices so it is very important to try before you weigh up the pros and cons of buying such a device.
Yes price is important but it should also be considered with functionality, quality and reliability.
I am well aware of the many types of eye diseases but "Eye cancer" that is a new one.
Unless you have a history of eye problems the most you would get from wearing a VR headset would be Eye Fatigue which is sometimes called Eye Strain.
Actually Eye Fatigue can be caused by a number of factors and one of them is extended gaming.
This is one product that is a definite try before you consider buying and I fully agree that an hour or two would be best but I don't think the retail shops would let you.
I definitely would suggest a minimum of 15 minutes and probably do the rounds of some shops before I make a decision.
What prospective buyers need to realize is that VR may not suit them (eg. motion sickness, ... etc) even if the price and other factors are acceptable.
I won't deny that some Sony products are slightly more expensive than some cheaper equivalent brands but if you only look at price you may be disappointed in the longer term.
Personally I factor in price, quality, functionality, specifications and reliability when I look at purchasing a product.
Please tell me where you can get a HDTV that will approximate a VR display for the prices you mentioned?
Oh that's right you can't.
For a PSVR headset I would expect prices to be of the order of US$399 to US$549 depending on the bundle. Of course I maybe underestimating but there is nothing on the market that comes close to the PSVR except the "Rift" and you will need a powerful PC to run that.
I am well aware that price is ...
Even if you switched off the light bar that would have little if any impact on the battery life. This has been discussed many times before. Don't believe me try Google or just do a basic electronics course.
There are a few ways to extend the play time of your DS4 controller they are:
1. Get a second controller. It only takes a few seconds to switch.
2. Get a long (ie. 5m at least) USB to micro USB cable - approx $5.00.
3....
The PS3 version of Skyrim while playable still has problems such as the odd freeze which fortunately does not happen that often. Slowdown does occur on occasion as well especilly when you have allot of things happening on screen.
The biggest annoyance and one that is easy to fix is when you exceed 6MB in your saves. Basically game saves of over 6MB are painfully slow so the best solution is to turn all auto saves off and save manually.
While turning off all ...
>> Why would anyone not want a MS Windows update?
When they run a different operating system.
As for spying, I run "AdBlock", "Ghostery" and "Flashcontrol" and currently Ghostery is blocking 17 trackers and AdBlock is blocking 12 adds.
If I take AddBlock off Flashcontrol will activate since I find flash adds the most annoying mainly because they really hammer CPU 0 which causes the temperature of my CPU to ...
MS Windows 10 sounds so much better and more hip than MS Windows 9.
Basically a PR exercise.
I actually did like the first Metal Gear with it's plot twist on the NES but for some reason could not get into the MGS games.
I have always liked RPG's and Action/Adventure games and if you have played any RPG you know that you have to put in many many hours to finish the game. That is if you really want to finish and that does not necessarily mean you dislike the game.
Note: Sometimes finishing an RPG means, at least for me that you never will play ...
Actually the only thing I hated about the N64 was the controller. I never had any issue with the games that I liked on it.
It's called greed.
With physical games there is a thriving second hand market and unlike CD's and DVD's Bluray disks (BD) are scratch resistant although it is possible to damage the top printed surface.
If a game re-seller gets too many of a particular game they have no choice but to reduce the price which in turn leads to a reduction in price of the new game. Depending on a game's popularity and second hand sales, price reduction can happen s...
