The problem with on-line multiplayer is that when the servers are finally switched off and eventually they will, that aspect of the game is effectively dead.
How long before the servers are switched off depends on the game's multiplayer interest. It could be years or months.
With single player you are not dependent on servers so you can play the game indefinitely as long as you have a machine to play the game on.
Personally I have games w...
I personally do think that RE1 through 3 were the real RE games although I did like Code Name Veronica. RE4 IMHO was an excellent game however it tended to be more in the Action/Adventure shooter category rather than survival horror. I did like the customization features though.
Any type of on-line co-op is not what I would associate with a "true" RE game.
From RE5 onwards I kind-off lost interest.
I would love a RE2 and RE3 remaster with new gameplay. One feature in RE3 which had a real "Oh S&%t" moment was when you went through a door and the zombie followed you. :-)
Actually FF7 was a departure from the so called traditional FF series in that this game was turn based only while FF4, FF5 and FF6 had an optional active turn based feature that could be turned off or on. It was not until FF12 that the active turn based feature was brought back in.
What made FF12 unique in the FF series was the fact that you fought in-situ or "on-site" rather than move to a fight area. In addition random encounters were removed since you could alwa...
Most people new to RPG's probably think the so call "traditional" RPG is turned based and fighting is carried out in a fight arena which is sort of like the area or overland where you encountered the enemy usually by random encounter. This is totally wrong there are so many different styles of JRPG's and WRPG's it is difficult to define them.
Basically JRPG's have pretty much everything raging from highly stylized cartoon characters and game world as...
Now all we need is a headset like the one in Sword Art Online without the brain blaster of course and gaming will take off big time.
Of course the health warnings are going to be horrendous since you will probably need a degree to understand them. :-)
Well we could call a monitor, HDTV or even a 4k TV gimmick accessories but you do need a display device for your console or gaming machine to connect to. A VR headset is just such a device and like all display devices there are advantages and disadvantages.
Whether VR is a flop remains to be seen. Even 3D while not exactly stellar is not a flop and if you have a little technical knowledge you should be aware that 3D TV's have the better refresh rate which makes viewing of...
At least they are keeping it simple while at the same time making sure that the brand name is an integral part of the overall name. That IMHO is smart naming unlike some other product names which which are so generic. ;-)
This is one product I would definitely want to try it out prior to making a decision to purchase it
RoTR is a timed release of about a year and Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 are available for the PS3. You can even get Minecraft and Killer Instinct for the PS3 as well.
If "KI" is not Killer Instinct well my bad.
I won't deny that Halo, Gears of War and Forza are XBox exclusive though.
The launch PS3 was basically four machines in one. It could play PS1 games and in fact all PS3's to-date can play PS1 games. It could also play PS2 games either by full hardware support (NTSC regions) or by a combination of hardware and software (PAL regions). Of course it could play PS3 games and it could also play DVD and Bluray movies.
In addition the PS3 came with wired and wireless Ethernet connection. It also had a HDMI connector and initially four USB connectors (i...
Actually the PS2 popularised the DVD. In 2000 DVD players were quite expensive and you could easily spend over $1000.00 for a DVD burner.
Likewise the PS3 popularised the Bluray market.
Microsoft is now in a very competitive market and their main cash cow which is Microsoft Office is having to compete against other Office suites some of which are actually free and are functionally very similar.
One area where Microsoft has a huge advantage i...
I don't think the PS4 supports the CD format (can anyone confirm/deny this) so basically PS1 and a few PS2 games are definitely out.
Since most PS2 games are on DVD it is possible to read these disks and PS2 emulation is available on PC's so this is possible for the PS4. Enhanced remasters for games you have not played before is always preferable.
A classic means different things to gamers from absolute rubbish to a definite must play. For instance Ape Escape 2 and Twisted Metal: Black are a no buy for me but Dark Cloud 2 (Dark Chronicle) which I have never played is a definite yes.
I personally would like PS2 backwards compatibility on the PS4 since I have over sixty games but for PS1 games an enhanced remaster is preferred even though you can play PS1 games on any PS3.
As for PS3 games on the PS4 I d...
That is always the problem with RPG's but then again you definitely get your monies worth especially if it is single player only. On-line can add to the length and possible interest of the time playing, however I am not into on-line only.
In Skyrim you do get some similarity in towns, burial sites, caves and dwarven ruins, however no two locations are exactly the same.
I won't deny that Skyrim does have allot of browns although it does have allot of greens and white's as well, but then again what do you think most places in colder or tundra regions should look like?
Some of the features of Skyrim and also in Oblivion are the Day/night cycles, the weather cycles and the way the NPC'...
It depends on what you mean by an open world game. A sandbox can be construed as open world although it isn't, however a true open world game can take well over 40 hours to complete and that is just doing the main mission. Of course this also depends on the type of game as well.
While what you said with everything or better yet quite allot of things marked on your map can be true that also depends on the game. Actually getting those dots can take enormous amounts of your ...
I don't know if you really can include the Wii as a last generation machine since it only supported Standard Definition TV's while the PS3 and XBox360 supported up to 1080p.
If you associate a console with TV resolution support then the Wii is in the same generation as the PS2 and we all know who won that.
Any console/computer that is delayed and/or refined should be better than the one that was launched before it.
The main things that hurt the launch of the XB1 were the management policies such as Kinect needed, "always on" and draconian DRM although that is subjective.
As for saying everyone should buy an XB1 that is silly since gamer's like different types of games and would purchase a console based on many factors.
As an examp...
Microsoft cannot afford to give up on Japan even though their sales of the XB1 are bad. I very much doubt they are loosing money since you need to take world wide profits/losses into account.
There are still many people who like JRPG's and who own or thinking of buying an XB1 so Microsoft would like access to the Japanese game developers even if their games only appear in the Western market. An example of that is Scalebound which will probably be a loss in Japan but reaso...
I think it is fanboys disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing.
The following URL (there are plenty others) says it all: https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
Basically this game is exclusive to the PS4 and Microsoft Windows although it may be possible to play a PC game via your XB1 at a later date.
