If you played the game on the harder modes such as "Blood and Broken Bones!" (hard) and preferably "Death March! (harder again) you really do appreciate the combat since you have to make use of skills, signs, potions. decoctions as well as armor and weapons.
Of course, you can always lower the difficulty like you can in Skyrim if you are having a problem but in many respects, you are effectively spoiling the game for yourself.
Obviously, i...
@The 10th Rider
It looks like the removal of net neutrality is starting to rear its ugly head in your area.
Most games are still run off a hard or solid state disk drive for performance purposes and that includes both consoles, mobile and PCs.
It must be noted that in the case of consoles and PC's to a limited extent that some gamers do prefer physical media to digital download although I do think that over time (approx five to fifteen years) games will be digital download only and physical media will be a thing of the past.
Yes, it is possible to stream ga...
One of the main reasons for having an inbuilt hard disk drive (HDD) and even the option of playing of a portable HDD via the PS4's USB is the fact that the read performance of an HDD is about 90 to 100MB/sec which allows for faster load times.
The current Bluray read performance is about 27MB/sec which depending on the game can result in longer (by a factor of approximately four) loading times hence the reason for using an HDD. Of course, if you have a solid-state disk ...
Well, at least you are not a young earth creationist although I do find it hard to believe that you 100% accept evolution. I have always found that the deeply religious won't accept the fact that humans descended from common ancestry without invoking some sort of divine intervention.
Fully agree with your statement on science, although your last paragraph re the Bible comes across as very vague or at best very conciliatory.
Basically, I have a firm be...
From John 20:24-29. New International Version (NIV)
When Thomas doubted that Jesus had risen from the grave.
29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
or to put it in a more simpler way "Don't think but believe without evidence".
Correct me if I am wrong but those words disrespect intelligence.
I have not played a game that depicts Jainism which is a true "religion of peace". 😎
I am well aware how the theists would like to make atheism a religion or cult and (especially) would like to shift the burden of proof but the basic definition of atheism is "Disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods". It does not matter if you like to call yourself an agnostic atheist or an agnostic etc you are still an atheist (you can add additional labels if that makes you more comfortable) if your belief in a god is zero.
Read the Bible, Quran etc with a skeptical eye and an open mind (ask "where/what is the evidence?") rather than using God glasses and a snuggle blanket. You will become an atheist in no time. 😉
The only thing I don't have is my PS2 but I do have a BC PS3 and all PS3's play PS1 games (makes my old PS1 redundant) so I am good. 😎
For days?
How about weeks and months and that's only the twenty that the article mentioned! 😎
Since Bloodborne is mentioned I suppose we could add Demon's Souls and the Dark Souls trilogy. 😎
You forgot the "/s" or smiley.
Anyone remember the first Uncharted game?
You do know that anyone logged in to this forum can up or downvote current comments. Sure a moderator can look at a particular post if it is flagged as "spam" or "inappropriate" but given the sheer amount of comments, it is virtually impossible for the few moderators on this site to vet all of them.
The problem occurs when people who post a comment get upset and adopt a "snowflake attitude" when people sometimes criticise them.
Basically, the rules of any forum are firstly you don't have to read any comments if they offend your sensibilities, secondly, if you post then be prepared for criticism, thirdly if you answer to a criticism be prepared to back up your comments (ie. web links or other evidence). Snowflake comments are not acceptable and in many cas...
When playing any Souls game it is usually a good strategy to allocate an hour or three just to learn what you can do and then restarting the game and hopefully, by this time you will have a better idea what type of character best suits your playstyle.
I definitely do agree that stamina is one stat that is well worth investing in no matter what type of character you choose to play as.
To get the best out of the game I don't recommend reading a walkthro...
I normally check prices between physical and digital games so I have a mixture. Since I have a PS+ account I do get plenty of free games some I like some I don't but overall the ones I like outweigh the ones I don't like so I have a huge library of games.
Personally, I prefer action/adventure and games with an RPG element so naturally, most of those games are huge (assuming you don't look at a walkthrough) and as for cost per hour I basically pay cents.
Oh please, the "straw man" of saying that "All gun laws do is make law-abiding people even more defenseless against armed thugs." is just plain stupid.
I live in Australia and while it is more difficult to get a gun it is not impossible to get one legally if you can provide reasonable grounds to purchase one. Protection against armed thugs is not reasonable grounds although joining a gun club is. You also have to provide a place in your home that will a...
It is not just 4K native. 8K is available now and although they are expensive but like 4K their price will come down so 8K should be supported either by chequerboard-rendering or native resolution. I do think the norm for fast-paced games going forward should be 60 fps or better.
I would assume Sony would use x86_64 technology for the PS5 which would allow for easy backward compatibility for PS4 games. By doing this BC is a system seller at the start of a generation although it still is a value-added feature later on.
A two to three-year wait for the PS5 allows Sony to include better hardware than the PS4pro allowing them to sell at a similar PS4pro price or better yet the same price as the original PS4 release price.
IMHO a nice ...
If you have a subscription like PS+ or XBox Live then you do get two to three free full games per month. Granted that some of those free games you may not like but even if you only like a fifth or a quarter that still gives you a reasonable amount of free games to play and that is not including games that you want and have paid for.
Of course, you also have to look at the games people like and if you are one of those people who like games that may take 40+ hours of gameplay...
