You pay $60 (I assume you mean US dollars) for a game? With the exception of "The Witcher 3" and Bloodborne most games, I play on my PS4 cost me under $20 Australian or are free since I do have a PS+ subscription.

Since I prefer RPG's or their equivalent (Souls/Bourne) playtime per game is usually well over 40 hours discounting replays so I rarely purchase a new RPG day one.

I take it you have not played Final Fantasy 4 onwards since they are not really medieval but a combination of Science Fantasy and Magic (medieval flavour if you want). After all, since when did a medieval game have things like air or even space ships?

Note: I have not played FF1 through 3 so I can't comment but I have played 4 through 13. I have FF15 but have not played it yet since I just recently got a 32" 4K monitor that supports HDR10 and even though I have ...

Mine is Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3 as well as Bloodborne. "From Software" has a lot to answer for. 😉

I sometimes find that I am having such a good time playing a particular game that I genuinely don't want to finish it and prefer to restart the game again.

One game I really liked (although some will disagree) is Neverwinter which is a free to play MMORPG that is available. for the PS4, XB1 and the PC.

I personally found that up to level 60 the game is not grindy at all. In fact, you can play without being in any party although some dungeons do require parties to enter (queuing can take up to five minutes although that does depend on the time of day and the dungeon). Unfortunately, once you reach level 60 the game requires you...

I don't know about two type C connectors, keeping in mind that the existing DS4 controller has a stereo phone and speaker jack. I do agree that the micro USB connector should be replaced with a type C connector.

While a touch screen replacing the touchpad may be a nice idea you also have to consider the additional cost that would be added to the DS5. In addition, would a small display screen be all that useful especially since it would reduce battery life significantly?...

For any controller, a better battery is always preferable, however, where do you draw the line?

There are many methods of extending playtime with the DS4 controllers:

1) Purchase a second controller - this, of course, is the most expensive.
2) Purchase a long micro USB cable - Cheap but can be inconvenient.
3) Have a small battery pack available with a short micro USB cable - Relatively cheap but you still have a cable.
4) A bat...

"Wii was god like"? How do you arrive at that statement?

I won't deny that the Wii was popular but for many, it was a fad that gathered dust within a year of its purchase although for some it was their preferred platform. All up the Wii sold about 101 million worldwide compared to the PS2 which sold approx 159 million.

The PS2, unlike the Wii, was able to read both CD's and DVD's as well as being able to play PS1 and PS2 games.

I will agree that is a nice feature but it is not essential since the pawn random generator allows you to play offline.

Unfortunately, many of the latest sequels from Capcom have been an unashamed money grab. Still, we can only hope.

2709d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I would not give the game 10/10 however it is IMO a very good game.

One nitpick is the fact that there is very little randomness in the enemies you face and the items you can pick up. That would not be irritating if it was not for the fact that you will have to backtrack quite a lot and you will encounter the same enemies in the same locations again and again. Also if I hear the word "Harpies" again I will scream. 😉 (yes I know you can reduce the inane cha...

The only thing I disagree with in the article is "Controller Battery" and how they mention that the new controller for the PS5 should ditch the "light bar" and the "touchpad". Just suggesting this is contradictory since the article also suggests that the PS5 should be backwards compatible.

Basically, it appears that the writer has never played a game that made use of the "touchpad" since many PS4 games do make extensive use of this fe...

GoW 2 was released for the PS2, PS3 and Vita in March 2007. I think you are thinking about GoW 5 of which no release date has been given.

Atlus Confirms It Is Planning for Persona 6. possibly in 2019. Maybe?

HORIZON Zero Dawn 2 is most likely happening, however, it probably will be a PS5 release although it is possible (my opinion) that it will also run on the PS4 as well.

Again I think you are thinking about a follow up to the PS4 excl...

You forgot to mention that the XBox360 had the "Red Ring of Death" which cause many owners to repurchase the XBox360. Granted Microsoft eventually extended the warranty on the XBox360 to three years although many people had purchased a replacement prior to Microsoft acknowledging the issue. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...

Another issue that the PS3 never had since it used a Bl...

May I ask what did you use the "Other OS" feature for?

FYI. I have been professionally running a Linux distribution since 1998 (my latest OS is Fedora 29) and found the "Other OS" feature of the PS3 (my original PS3 still works) to be pretty much useless. Anyway, I buy a gaming machine to play games.

BTW, It was optional if you downloaded the update to remove the "Other OS" feature but if you did not do that you would not hav...

WOW! How many games have you played on the PS4?

Sure the touchpad on the DS4 can be used as a single button but many games or at least the games I play the touchpad can double as two buttons and in addition, it also acts as (gasp) a touchpad with swipes implementing certain actions or gestures.

In addition, the DS4 has a six-axis detector as well as an inbuilt speaker and the ability to connect a stereo headset and speaker which allows one to uses voice c...

It may come as a surprise to you but that is how developers work.

This is why Microsoft used a version of "Windows 10" for their XBox1 and Sony for their PS4 used Orbis OS, a modified version of FreeBSD that's similar to Linux. Both Microsoft and Sony don't have to pay a royalty for these operating systems.

Why reinvent the wheel every time you wish to make a new product? Sure some particular ideas can be patented and the people who use ...

Like Final Fantasy 12, FF13 when programmed right did not require any button mashing.

FF13 like FF12 also allowed you to auto-battle against lower difficulty enemy although when battling a boss or difficult enemy you did have to monitor the battle and select the appropriate paradigm quickly since you could not pause the battle. On the other hand, FF12 did allow for fine-grained settings using boolean algebra but you did have the option to pause and also to go turned based. ...

I can agree with Steam or GoG, but Nintendo?

Nintendo is almost synonymous with child/teen/family-oriented games and is usually quite reserved when some games are more on the risqué side.

The problem as I see it is the so-called moral majority (well at least they think they are) in the USA frown on any game that has some sexually suggestive content although they don't seem to have any issue with murder and mayhem.

If the PS5 comes out in 2020 then it is very likely that the total lifetime sales of the PS4 will exceed 100 million worldwide (my guess is approx 100 ~ 110 million - see chart) although I very much doubt that the PS4's total lifetime sales will exceed 120 million leaving the PS2 with 157.68 million the winner so far.
