I normally buy one console during the life time of each generation and price does not come into the equation. My reason is that I normally play Action/Adventure and/or RPS's and many of those games take from 30 to 100's of hours to play.

There is only one exclusive game coming to the XB1 that I am interested in and that is Scalebound and one game is definitely not going to entice me into getting an XB1.

I still have my PS3 and I am slowly clearing my ...

That's a bit like saying those games have swords, magic, RPG elements and are third person perspective therefore they must be the same.

Err! when did that happen. I do have a Move controller and the best game I played with it was Sorcery, however you do have to stand and you must have room to swing the controller even though it is more like flicking it.

Like the Wii controller a hand strap is essential although it does come standard with one. Unlike the Wii controller the Move controller is much more comfortable.

The nice thing about the Move controller is the fact that the PS4 supports it a...

for an RPG like Skyrim VR would be fantastic you may have a better chance of detecting an ancient or revered dragon before it gets you. I would not say that Skyrim is slow in fact it can be very fast especially in melee combat.

As for CoD I have never been interested in those games but since the PSVR has a 120Hz refresh rate and can support up to 120fps I don't think there would be a problem with a fast moving game.

I have never yet seen any review on VR that said that this will replace conventional TV's.

VR is a personal experience not a collective one like a family and/or friends gathered round a TV. It's main use will be in gaming although it could be used to display movies and normal TV programs.

As for saying that you can only game with a VR headset for a few hours that depends on what you are playing. At least the PSVR has a refresh rate of 120Hz and can su...

Not everyone's eyes are the same and some people do wear glasses and are not willing to spend the money or take the risk with corrective surgery.

As people age so does their eyesight. How fast depends on many factors to numerous to mention here.

While it is very possible to make the PSVR headset smaller even to the extent of replacing prescription glasses the cost would go up enormously.

Note: All surgery no matter how small carries some ...

Any display device can trigger epilepsy in some people that is why there are now warnings when you switch on your PS3 and I assume all last and new generation consoles as well.

Virtual Reality headsets are probably more extreme in triggering mental and/or physical issues with users of the equipment. Many people won't have problems or can adapt easily but a few will which is unfortunate.

Anyone who is thinking of buying a VR headset should at least try one...

If you are a small gaming company (ie. Indies) you do want to know which console is selling the most so it would be worth while producing a game for it.

Of course it would be even more worth your while if the competing company pays for you to produce the game or even better pays for exclusivity, keeping in mind that you could get horribly bitten if you don't negotiate terms beneficial to you.

Backwards compatibility is great at the start of a console release since it allows gamers to play and complete their last generation games on their new console. Having BC after two years is not that big a deal although it is a nice feature.

There would be very few gamers who would go out of their way to buy a last gen game after two years although it may help those people who still have their XBox360 and games, who are thinking of getting an XB1.

Err! what gr...

If Sony agrees it is possible for the PS4 to support an external hard disk via USB however the PS4 uses a totally different encrypted file-system to the one Microsoft uses so even if external storage via USB was made available your external disk would not be easily readable by a PC running a Microsoft OS.

I know the XB1 does support external disk installs however if it found that this method of storage can be cracked (It will eventually) this feature will be removed by Micros...

I sort of agree with you, however depending on the genre you may want to play a game multiple times because each time the gameplay may be different although there would be few games that fit in that category.

Most linear games (at least for me) are play though once then never play again unless it is for nostalgia purposes which may be once every few years.

There is a saying in the IT Industry that most users will manage to fill their storage no matter how lar...

You should know by now that you can install a storage system of up to 6TB using the Nyko data bank. See the following URL: http://www.geek.com/games/6...

To improve the disk performance of your PS4 you can easily replace the disk with a 7200 rpm disk. You can get better performance if you have the money by installing a solid state disk. You can't do this for th...

Deleting a finished game or one that you know that you aren't going to play for a while is a logical solution especially if you have a fast internet connection or the physical disks.

There are people who have short attention spans who can play 10 to 15 games a week or who have no idea how to manage their gaming library. In fact there are many people that will fill their storage no matter how large the size and then complain bitterly when they do.

A particular game having a high score is only an indication that the it may be worth playing to those people who prefer the particular genre that game is part of.

As an example a game like Halo which is a FPS game may not be interesting to a gamer who prefers RPG's. Of course the reverse is also true.

It must also be noted that even within a particular genre gamers can also be picky.

Actually if you are willing to wait 1 to 2 years 8k TV will be out and you can pretty much guarantee that you will be future proof for many years to come.

My experience with cable and even free to air is that most new shows are 720p and some are even standard definition. You do get the odd one at 1080p but only if you subscribe to cable or digital download companies such as Netflix.

Dedicated servers for game servers are a complete waste of computing resources especially when on demand virtual machines can more efficiently do the work.

Even Microsoft use virtual machines for their multiplayer services although their PR gives the impression that they are using physical machines.

Servers are physical machines that take up what is called real estate in a machine room. they can be anything from a simple PC to blades to large main frames all coupled to disk farms, backup services and networked.

Basically you don't need dedicated servers for some applications and multiplayer servers fit into this category. Being able to fire up one or more virtual machines on demand for specific purposes is a much more effective use of computing resources.

I don't have any problem playing older games that I like however there are many new games that I would like to play as well, the problem is finding the time to play new games balanced against replaying some older games.

Personally I prefer playing something new over something old although on occasion I do get a nostalgia kick.

@dboyc310

There are people who do like the nostalgia of replaying old games and even if it only a few as you did say.

I do agree with you that BC two years in is almost a waste of time for the majority of people so IMHO selling BC software for the PS4 at a reasonable price would be a better and possibly profitable way of doing BC.

I get the impression you have not played many JRPG's or if you have you have not played the right ones.

Or are you one of those people who only like games where "If it moves you kill it and if it doesn't move you kill it anyway" and "Story? what Story, I'm too busy blowing things up". :-)
