Actually the article was pretty useless and had little technical content.
Harnessing multiple cores is a critical part of the operating system. Normally what happens is there are important tasks that are normally assigned to the CPU0 (ie. the primary CPU) and all non critical tasks load balanced across all the other CPU's.
When a process is started in a multitasking operating system (in this case a Unix like OS) it is normally assigned a priority such tha...
If you don't care for PS2 emulation then you are completely free not to use it. There is no cost to you either way. All backwards compatibility and/or emulators are a nice feature for those people who would make use of it.
For me having to pay for a digital download of a PS2 game I own is not acceptable, so hopefully I will be able to play from my existing PS2 game disks. Of course if you don't have a particular PS2 game that you would like to play for nostalgia then ...
I don't think the PS2 emulator will play a PS2 game via the disk. It is much more likely to read the disk and put the image into an appropriately labeled PS4 library which is no different to what is being done with PS4 games.
Once a PS2 image (usually less than 4.7GB) is installed in the PS4 library it can then be played via the emulator. By doing this you are confirming that you can read the full disk properly so there won't be any nasty surprises. Not sure how Sony ...
From what I can gather the PS2 emulator will run on the PS4 as an application which will read a PS2 disk image.
By doing the above it would be extremely easy and cheap to setup a computer store that can download the requested image to the PS4 were is would be played via the PS2 emulator. Obviously companies who made the game would have some say in including or not including their PS2 games in the computer store.
If a player decides that they want a particular...
At the launch of the PS4 Sony did state that the PSMove and Nav controller were supported although you did need to buy the PS4 Camera for them to work properly.
Personally I would wait until the PSVR headset comes out and read what is required although the PS4 Camera will be essential. See what bundles are available with the PSVR headset.
As for games you may find that the games you want may require the DS4 and optionally the PSMove. Adopt the wait and see at...
You are quite correct you can use the PSMove in one hand and the DualShock in the other but it gets very uncomfortable. The Navigation controller is well worth getting if you get a PSMove although no one is forcing you to get one. I do suggest trying the DS4 first and then make the call.
It must be pointed out that some PSVR games won't require you to get a PSMove so you should read the requirements for each game, after-all it is rather pointless getting a PSMove if the g...
Don't know why you got those disagrees. What you said was quite logical although it will be interesting to see what bundles are available.
I think for people who are going to get the PSVR headset and games will have to look at each game individually and it's requirements since some will require the PSMove and others just the DS4 controller.
One thing that is essential for the PSVR headset is the PS4 camera.
As for the PSMove and optio...
You will need the PS4 camera since the PS3 camera is not supported on the PS4.
From what I have read you can use voice commands via the PS4 camera in a similar way that you can use Kinect voice navigation. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Note: From what I have read the Kinect is the better voice and camera system but unlike the PS4 camera which was always optional the Kinect was required initially.
I actually found the PSMove controller to be quite comfortable compared to that glorified TV remote of the competition. :-)
Actually if you are going to get the PSMove get the Navigation controller as well. You don't really have to do this since you can also use the Dual Shock but lets put it this way which one would you think is more comfortable to use with the PSMove remembering that you can only use one hand for the PSMove and the other for navigation control?

I do think RotTR will have a definitive edition with all DLC, extra conten and bug fixes and will sell reasonably well on the PS4 when it comes out. Of course it will be up against quite a few games that will be coming out at the same time (assuming Nov 2016) just like it is now.
Well some people do like collector's editions with err ... statue? :-)
The only games that i brought that had expansions and included DLC were Skyrim the Legendary Edition and Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen. Both of theses games were well worth the money (especially Skyrim) I spent on them which to be honest was not allot since I got them brand new on special anyway.
But, but, but you get really good value for season passes. You get??? ...?? ...? err! a few extra maps if you are lucky, some extra weapon skins, clothing skins and maybe if you have been a good boy/girl extra quests which you could have brought later as an expansion or DLC anyway. ... err!
Yep Thom9434 had it right first time "Screw that".
I definitely agree, XBox360's are not that expensive but unless they have an XBox360 disk and/or digital download collection most people are not going to be that interested in backwards compatibility. The exception would be those XB1 owners who have not played a particular XBox360 game and would like to play it.
For the PS4 having PS2 emulation this is a nice feature however it is not a system seller and I doubt many people will use it. Unlike XBox360 BC on the XB1 the PS...
Personally I don't really care about trophies although they are a nice feature for those that do care.
Backward Compatibility is a great feature but is only a system seller at the start of the new console generation and only if the buyers have their last generation games.
Even with the prospect of PS2 backwards compatibility emulation not that many people will make use of it. Of course it may be possible (we don't really know yet) that the emulator w...
The base concept of the headset in SOA kept your physical body immobile except for the basics of actually keeping the real body alive.
I shudder to think of the warnings you would have to read and agree to to actually wear a gaming machine like the SOA headset. Still the concept would be the closest a human can get to true Virtual Reality without having to discard their physical body.
You still have a controller which could be the PSMove or DS4 or a combination of both.
Unfortunately some people need to have everything spelled out for them and in multiple languages. Even then there is always some legalese that can be used to sue a producer.
When you see a packet of nuts with the warning on it saying "Caution may contain nut products" then I do feel we are taking warnings too far. What next Mick Chocolate with the warning "May contain milk products" ... Oh wait. :-)
While I do think the PlayStation VR devs are quite correct other Devs will probably think otherwise.
With the PSVR headset you really are pretty much limited to the room the PS4 and it's camera are in , however there are some VR headsets that will be coming out for mobile phones. Now that is really worrying.
If people can get distracted by using a mobile phone then how much more would they be distracted by using a VR headset that can be attached to it. <...
Why a wish list? We are talking about game emulation here not remasters.
If the game emulator is efficient most games will play so it really should not matter what game you have providing the PS4 can read the PS2 disk, install it and let you play under enhanced emulation. Of course I don't have any objection to Sony charging a reasonable price for PS2 images to those who don't have the PS2 disk.
I have a PAL FAT PS3 so I am well and truly aware that s...
I prefer XBox180 which will most like confuse people no end. Still Microsoft's naming convention leaves allot to be desired, such as XBox, XBox360 and XBox1 (what??) which was deservedly translated to XBone.
At least Sony decided to keep their naming simple such as PlayStation which can be abbreviated to "PS" such that we have a PS1, PS2, PS3 and now PS4. Also having "PS" in front of peripherals such as PSMove, PSP, Vita (what happened?), PSTV and now ...
