I do think allot of fan-boys forget about that. My Samsung S4 gets fairly hot after playing Angry Birds for an hour and this is not just confined to Samsung all smart mobiles (including iPhone) suffer from this.
It must be remembered there is no exhaust fan in mobile so it does get hot with continued use.
You should know that in most countries a product has a one year warranty. So why did you not take the faulty DS4 controller back since most stores will do a one to one swap?
You are quite right, the battery in the PS4 can be replaced with a more powerful one, however you can pretty much use a cheap charger cable or even a small battery pack with a short cable. Why void your warranty?
I actually charge my DS4 via my computer or Android charger and if I really want I can use my wife's battery backup charger that she uses for her iPhone (with a USB to micro USB short cable naturally).
Actually when I take a break (you really sho...
You are pretty much spot on but it appears you have upset a couple of iPhone fanboys.
Some light vacuuming won't void your warranty, but if the PS4 is still noisy when playing a game then get it seen too under warranty.
Note a strong vacuum can damage your fan if you apply the nozzle directly to the inlet and outlet vents. Either stop the fan from moving with a skewer or wave the nozzle about 1 to 2 cm (approx 0.5 to 1 inch) over the vents.
If you do see dirt build up on your PS4 you really should ask why this is happening and clean your s...
With my desktop I can change the thermal paste in a few minutes since everything is accessible, however for my 5 year old laptop (original i7) it takes me over an hour to do it. For my original PS3 I have never changed the paste and it is still sounds (ie. fairly quiet) the same as to when I originally brought it.
For the PS4 if it is still under warranty then get it seen too. If it is out of warranty and if you are confident, there are plenty of YouTube HowTo's on chang...
If your PS4 is still under warranty get this seen to immediately.
@DragonPaw
You have just mentioned the number one dust magnet and that is carpet.
In my house we got rid of all carpet except for the bedrooms and replaced it with tiles. We still get a small amount of dust (well dust bunnies) but it is easily removed.
If any member of your house suffers from nasal issues such as hay fever or has asthma then replacing all carpet with hard surfaces such as tiles, polished wood and lino (cheap but it does work)...
Static electricity can fry electronic components in very dry and unusual conditions, however most electronics are shielded from this.
Using a vacuum cleaner to clean your air intake will not cause the fan to generate electricity that can fry your equipment although a powerful vacuum cleaner can damage the fan.
In a dusty environment it is always best to use a dust mesh on the inlet vents however you are still better off not running electronics in a dusty envi...
I have never worked out why people get these items for use in an enclosed space (ie. room). You would be better off with a vacuum cleaner which captures all dust and dirt rather than blow it everywhere.
If you PS4 is still under warranty then get it fixed by Sony support.
If your PS4 is out of warranty you could change the thermal paste if you feel confident enough to do it. Arctic Silver or it's equivalent is recommended and a small tube costs only a few dollars.
Actually from the article if your PS4 fan looks like that I do strongly suggest you clean your room and as well as one reader suggested stop smoking. Your PS4 and your body will thank you.
You just recently built a rig using the Haswell chip-set.
It's a bit late now but for anyone else contemplating this, a new Intel build should be done using the Skylake chip-set (AMD builds are different). Basically the overall cost for a Skylake build is not that much more expensive than the Haswell build except you can use DDR4 which seeing you appear to be into over-clocking (ie. "k" series) you can get DDR4 memory to clock well over 3.6GHz and it is not that...
I am still waiting for my flying car and jet pack and my wants precede yours by years :-)

Why do you need to make games output to 120fps?
Normally when you look at the specs of a monitor or TV you are more interested in Hertz not frames per second.
A quick rule of thumb: If you have a TV/Monitor that has a refresh rate of say 120Hz it can normally display up to 120fps. There are other factors involved as well but lets keep this simple.
If you have a monitor that is rated at 60Hz (the de-facto standard)...
It does not matter if you are a big or small developer you still have to know what they are developing for.
You are quite correct, you are not forced to buy, however when micro-transactions and DLC become "Pay to Win" there is a huge problem.
Why would I consider playing a particular game when an item be it improved armour, weapons or buffs can be purchased by a player who is effectively looking for an unfair advantage.
If a micro-transaction gets you a new skin but no advantage except maybe ego stroking then I don't have any issue.
However if a micro-transaction gets the player what is definitely an unfair advantage such as weapon that a player can unlock much later in the game being purchased by a novice. This also boils down to "Pay to Win" which for most genuine players is effectively cheating.
DLC without costumes, skins or buffing is different to micro-tr...
Can't speak for Microsoft Windows since I only use Linux (Fedora 23) but for retro gaming via a native Linux emulator the DS4 works perfectly with a USB cable and without any additional software. I normally map the "share" and "options" buttons to "select" and "start" respectively.
If the PSVR supports HDMI in (doubt it though) then you most likely could display to it making it a private HDTV. Of course that is assuming your graphic...
I have never been a PC gamer preferring console gaming instead, however when I built my PC with the latest Skylake 4 core i7 processor it actually cost more than what I paid for my PS4.
With a VR headset you can also consider it a personal HDTV as well.
Anyway I could not recommend VR headset since I have not tried one, however I do recommend trying one out for a minimum of 15 minutes, preferably more then decide if you want one.
