The screen is 1080p and it's refresh rate is 120Hz.
Here is a quick test if you have a smart phone that has a resolution of 1080p and is approximately 5.5 to 7 inch diagonal. Put the screen close to your eyes so you can comfortably see the screen.
If you have excellent eyesight you may be able to see individual pixels. Now run a video (has to be at least 720p preferably 1080p. Can you make out the pixels? If you can the MIB would like to have a word with ...
Well it does depend on what type of games you like. For me who is an RPG fan I don't have any complaints but then again I only got a PS4 on a sale just before Christmas.
I have also kept my PS3 for those times I want a nostalgia hit.
Then which site do you recommend we trust for statistics pertaining to games?
There are sites like http://www.statista.com/ https://newzoo.com/insights... and https://www.superdataresear... but you really have to wade through the information to get anything relevant and for most casual ga...
I do think there is allot of rinse / repeat in many of the current generation games however the companies that produce these games are in the business of making money and if a franchise is lucrative then we are going to see more of the same until gamers stop buying.
Of course we do see developers bring out new or innovative games on occasion, but if those games don't sell then either those studios go out of business or they go back to games that they know will earn them m...
I won't deny that the video demonstates that the PS3 emulator can play that particular game and they are using an older mid range GPU, however what the article did not state was the specifications of the cpu, memory and their clock frequencies. That is also very important as well.
Another question to ask and probably one that won't be forthcoming is: Are you reading the game off a BluRay drive or if not are your reading of a ripped (Err! copied) file?
What did you to your FAT PS3 do mine is still running.
My eyes glazed over after the first paragraph.
Cell phones getting yearly upgrades? On which planet or dimension are they doing that?
On this planet the word "upgrade" pertaining to a cell phone means to replace it with a newer one. The only upgrade that can be done with most cell phones is to change the flash card.
From one of the PC Master Race forums (leaving name off for privacy reasons):
"RPCS3 is the only major PS3 emulator that is in developent, but its probably very likely that it would not be playable at all. Plus you would also need some serious hardware to get it running."
Basically the bottom line is it can be done, however it is very unlikely to be done on the PS4 since as the poster said "You need serious hardware".

In the majority of case I prefer new games but I do get the rare nostalgia kick and since I have a BC PS3 I can still play and enjoy my old games.
As I have said before BC or emulation is a great value add feature and maybe a console seller at the start of the generation but two years in it is only a value added feature.
Backwards compatibility is a console selling feature at the start of the generation when there aren't many new games available for it.
Providing an emulator for older generation games later in the consoles lifetime is a nice value added feature, however it is not a console selling feature now.
Nothing wrong with that considering that all PS3's support backwards compatibility for PS1 games. It is only the original PS3 that had backwards compatibility for PS2 games.
On occasion I do have an nostalgia kick and may play PS2 games on my BC PS3 although it is rare for me to play PS1 games now since they don't look all that great on a large HDTV.
Still I predominately use my PS3 to play PS3 games and now I have a PS4 I use that to play PS4 games. ...
Fully agree.
It's very difficult to play PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 games via my computer monitor, I mean it takes "Two Whole Seconds" to switch from my PC to either my BC PS3 or my PS4 and back. OK I will concede it does take an extra five seconds to swap my HDMI connection from my PS3 to my PS4 and back.
It's even worse when I want to play on my 55" HDTV in my living room. It takes less then a minute to relocate. Oh the humanity! :-)
At least with a remaster you are pretty much guaranteed that it will work on the target machine and actually look better than the original.
If you already have the original game and have no interest in playing the remaster then that's your prerogative, however many new players have not played the game on the older machine and don't mind paying for the remaster that will play on their new generation machine.
The Cell is an incredibly powerful processor but it was not exactly cheap, however Sony was pragmatic and decided that the only way to keep development costs down was to go the x86-64 route.
One interesting and quite practical development was to use GDDR5 memory to serve as main and graphical memory compared to standard PC architecture of DDR3/4 for main memory and GDDR5 for graphics memory.

"On March 7, 2015, it was revealed that the PlayStation Now is accessible in Europe. Official beta invites for Europe started going out to PS4 owners on April 15, 2015"
I think the best way of describing PS Now is that it is equivalent to the Netflix service except it is for PS3 games.
Of course if you have a PS3 and plen...
If I own a game I normally have the means to play it. Why would I want to pay for something when when I already own it?
PS Now is a cloud gaming service and will allow some PlayStation brands and smart TV's like the Sony Bravia range to play PS3 games.
From Wikipedia:
"On December 24, 2014, Sony announced the PlayStation Now will expand to the other electronic brands such as Samsung smart TV's."

There is one thing Microsoft does not want and that is to be labelled a monopoly again (look it up if you don't know what happened) so they are quite happy with Apple and even Linux as their competition as long as they (Microsoft) hold a dominate market share advantage (ie. over 92%) in the desktop market.
In fact at one stage Apple looked like it was going under so Microsoft purchased shares (18.2 million or approx $150 million) to prevent that from happening.
