For PSVR the PS4 camera is essential, however the PSMove is optional since it's usage will depend on the game whether it's required or the Dual Shock 4 controller.

On-rail and manipulative games would definitely suit two PSMove controllers, however the dual shock 4 would most likely be more suitable for open games such as shooters or RPG's. Whether you use the PSMove and/or PSNavigator and/or DS4 or some combination will depend on the game and it's requirement...

What if you already have a camera?

I don't have any problems with a bundle having a camera or even a PSMove for that matter. Actually some people do have a PSMove so why should we be expect to buy another?

I am aware that some PSVR demos actually do show the gamer playing with two PSMoves however I do think that these will be more along the lines of on-rail or manipulative games which I personally don't care for.

Still the Dual Shock ...

Sony did come out with the CUH1200 series of PS4's and they are definitely quiet and use less power. They still kept the same footprint, however the one I have is full matt black which IMHO looks great.

In the lead up to Christmas I would be very surprised if some great bundle deals don't appear.

Now all we need is a Sword Art On-line headset although I do think those 10,000 Volt wires being so close to the head may be a cause for alarm.

VRPorn (TM) is bound to become a reality. :-)

I do think releasing the PSVR in October leading into Christmas is an excellent tactical decision.

As for not being able to afford it around 40 million PS4 at today's date would disagree with you.

You only need 5% out of 40 million to purchase the PSVR to easily get to 2 million and I am not taking into account the number of PS4's that will be sold prior to October or the number of PS4's and their inevitable bundles leading up to Christmas.

Personally I don't mind the wait since I never really got much use out of the PS3 camera and the PSMove and at least the PSMove is supported by the PS4 so I don't feel that I wasted my money.

I would recommend that all people who are thinking about getting a PSVR in the future at least try it (base minimum of 15 minutes) it first to see if it is worth getting from your perspective.

Personally I do think most people will really take to the PSVR since t...

@Death

As far as the headphone buds looking cheap well please show me a set of headphone buds within reason that don't look cheap? You really need to see the headphones specs before saying that.

Be that as it may I don't think those headphone buds are going to be what is going to ship with the PSVR sine they don't appear to have an inbuilt microphone. See the following URL: 3720d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

In Australia pre-ordering is already available. I would be surprised if that is not the case in most countries where the PlayStation is sold.

If you are not sure connect to the PlayStation site relevant to your country.

I suppose you could look at the PSVR as a peripheral in the same way you could look at a HDTV or monitor being peripherals.

@MRMagoo123

In Australia the PSVR will AU$549,95 RRP although you will require the PS camera. PSMove and navigator are optional since you will most likely be able to use the Dual Shock 4 for most VR games.

Note: When I mentioned the RRP that is for October and as you are aware stores that stock this device will have specials especially since October is leading into Christmas.

@Odoylerules000

Played Sorcery with the PSMove and PSNavigator and it plays really well. Not a long game though but you do get a little workout since you do have to (well should) stand.

I would assume most VR games can be played sitting down so you will have the option of using the PSMove or the Dual Shock 4.

I sort of agree and disagree with what you said.

Sure it may be possible if the more higher priced VR devices are shown and appear better then some will opt of the higher priced VR device.

I do think the majority of people who see and try both the PSVR and the more expensive PC based VR devices will opt for the cheaper and in many ways more convenient option.

Most PSVR buyers will only see and try the PSVR since that will be much more easier...

The PSMove is supported however for most VR games you would most likely have the option of using it or the dual shock 4 since they both have a light that can be tracked by the camera.

Personally would hold off on the PSMove for now although IMHO it is not a bad device. If you do get a PSMove it is well worth the cost of getting the smaller navigation controller as well (it's actually quite cheap), holding the DS4 in one hand for navigation is a PITA.

Got an email to state that the PSVR will be AU$549.95 (approx US410) recommended retail price. Of course that also means spending about AU$80 for the camera as well. I do expect some bundles which could drop the price as well.

Since this device appears to act as a personal HDTV as well it could also target the none gamers.

Included in the package (at least in Australia):
> VR headset × 1
> Processor unit × 1
> VR hea...

You are quite correct although I will get plenty of disagrees. Basically for cross play you would have to get all parties such as Microsoft, Sony and possibly some gaming server sites to agree. Of course the most import question is what games are going to support this?

Here the rub. Say you are an XBox or Sony fanboy and you want to play a particular game that can equally be played on the PC. Why would you be paying for PS+ or XBox Gold for that matter when the network PC con...

Err! Ratchet and Clank are made by Insomniac Games, Idol Minds and Mass Media Games, while Jak and Daxter were made by Naughty Dog (2001–2013), Ready at Dawn (2006),High Impact Games (2009), Nihilistic Software (2011) and Mass Media Inc. (2012–2013). The only common developer is Mass Media Inc.

So how can people think there will be another Jak and Daxter game? Yes it may be possible but until the developer(s) come out and state there is going to be a game then this is all wis...

I don't know about clever since a cheat is a cheat. I hope they get banned although this would only be a minor annoyance to some of these people.

I do hope the developers come out with a patch very soon otherwise genuine gamers will start to avoid this game.

While I do agree with you. Cheaters don't really care, just so long as they can dominate. Of course they are usually the first to scream if they themselves are cheated on or they are found out and banned/shunned by the gaming community.

These same cheaters will even cheat in a single player game where the only one they are cheating is themselves, however they don't see it that way and as far as they are concerned that have the right to beat the game by any means. Rath...

With some console games you can find exploits which allows the person to pick up weapons and armour fairly early.

As an example in Dark Souls you can find the reaper scythe within about 10 minutes of leaving the asylum if you know where to look. You will probably die in the process but you still will retain the scythe.

From what I have read, having invincibly is definitely a cheat and requires the cheater to be able to manipulate the save file(s) which may o...

I would not say perfectly. Those 15GB to 18GB patches would impact some peoples internet usage.

That said I still think the game is excellent, especially if you play it on the harder difficulties and not cop out when the going gets tough.
