You don't have to pre-order or even get it on day one. Just wait a few days for some reviews (at least more than one) to come out and assuming you have confidence in the reviewers then make a decision whether to buy or not. From what you have just said waiting a few days or even weeks is the best thing to do.
What would make me rethink buying the game even if all reviews are positive is if the game is on-line only, but that's me although for some that may not be a pro...
Reading the article and even looking at the video of the game-play it sort of looks very similar to the first R&C game however it is not a remaster and in other respects it actually looks like a brand new game as well.
I guess I will have to get my original game out and play it again.
....
Just had an hour play of the original (PS2) R&C game and you really can notice the difference in graphics and game-play. The PS2 version appeared to be not ...
Is Battlefront a new R&C game? /s
I will agree and disagree with you on this.
As a gamer I will only look at games that fall in to the categories or genres I like which in my case are RPG's and Action/Adventure. I also like to steer clear of on-line only games.
Even within the genres I like I am still fairly picky so I never buy day one. When I am interested in a game I do like to get critics options keeping in mind that it's important to get two or more opinions since I am well aware...
I do agree with getting rid of micro-transactions but because there are people that are willing to pay for that extra "skin" then they won't go away. Transactions like this are just cosmetic and should not affect the playability of the game.
Unfortunately micro-transactions can and do lead into "Pay To Win" which allows the player to pay for adding extra buffs to weapons and protection that that don't want to earn by playing the game properly. Doi...
CD's are not supported. Sony was up front with that when they unveiled the PS4. You are much better off just ripping your CD's and playing the mps3 files.
Next we will be hearing from people who want to be able to read VHZ, BetaMax and cassett tapes. /s
Sigh! In your PS4 menu go to your "Library" and select "games". This will list all the games you have A-Z or Z-A. You can even list the order you last played each game or even when you installed them and you can even start them from there.
I have just the thing for you that will make those external disks look like floppy drives: http://www.digitaltrends.co...
Who needs an external disk when you have one of these puppies. Of course you will most likely need a second mortgage to buy one. :-)
It sometime can be difficult to get an unbiased review that is why you really need to go to sites and reviewers with whom you have some semblance of trust. Even then it all comes down to what you like.
Personally I have never liked on-line only games although I do like RPG's. If The Division did not require on-line only then I would be keen on playing the game.
On-line features like what you have in the Souls series I don't mind and IMHO adds to the e...
Why do you want to store video files on your internal hard drive when you can play them from an external hard drive? I know the PS3 can do this however videos are a great way to quickly fill up your hard drive.
From a legal point of view it may be risky for Sony to allow the storage of potentially pirated videos or even mp3 music on the PS4. Of course having those videos and mp3's on an external hard disk becomes your responsibility. Now excuse me while I feed my green pa...
You can delete "Spotify", Media Player and "The Playroom" if you don't want them. Just highlight then press the "Options" button on your controller, select "delete".
There are fixed features you cannot remove. They are:
1. PlayStation Store
2. What's New
3. TV & Video
4. PlayStation Video
5. SHARE Factory
6. Live from PlayStation
7. Capture Gallery
8. W...
In some respects you already have games and applications folders.
Go to "Library"(unfortunat ely at the end of the ribbon) then select "Games" or "Applications or even "TV & Video". You can even list alphabetically A-Z or Z-A, Recently Used or by Install Date. You can even start your game from there as well.
In addition simple voice commands do work as well if you plug your headset and microphone (all PS4 owners should h...
Getting external hard drive support would be easy to do however I don't think most people would like that since the external drive would most likely be encrypted so it could only be used on that PS4.
You can however save your installs to an external disk (includes patches) for a relatively quick recovery. You do need an ExFAT file-system to do this which you will have to create via your PC.
Well you could replace your hard drive with a 15TB SSD if your have the money that is.

Still for some I don't think 15TB will be enough.
I am surprised that Sony did not make a game directory since they have made folders for quite a few other major icons on the ribbon desktop.
If you normally use digital media to install your game you will need that media to authenticate the game so it is not that much of a big deal by not having a game directory although IMHO it does clutter up the ribbon.
On the other hand if you are heavenly into digital downloads is annoying by not being able to put your g...
@ShowanW
I do agree that it would be a nice feature to add a gaming directory or folder, although you will see the last few games you played at the start of the ribbon menu. You can use voice commands to access your games, if you remember their names.
Just plug in your headset and microphone that actually comes with your PS4 to your controller or use a different one headset and microphone. Now say "PlayStation All Commands" or if you want to play a ...
Since the PS2 era I don't remember swamping disks, although to be fair even if you had a PS1 there were not that many games that you needed to swap a disk for.
With the gaming media you do have to put the game in the drive however PS3 and PS4 games are predominately one disk.
<s>Yes I do agree with digital download enthusiasts that having to take a game disk out of it's box and then shock, horror walk to your console and put the game in the dri...
In some respect digital can be cheaper than the physical copy, however over a reasonable time the physical copy can sometimes be significantly cheaper and depending how you look at it much more convenient although that is subjective.
In many ways having second hand game shops actually does help in reducing digital download game prices. Get rid of second hand games and digital download games will stay at their initial price for much longer.
Before people point...
Definitely agree.
To download a 50GB game on my broadband normally means networks speeds of approximately 2 to 5 MB/sec which would translate to a couple of hours.
With a BluRay game of say 50GB I can play within minutes on the PS4 with the installation taking about 30 minutes depending on your hard disks write speed (approx 22MB/sec for 5400rpm HDD) and the read speed of your BluRay (approx 27MB/sec) whichever is the slower.
If you are into ...
It depends what type of games you like. Since I like RPG's (action, turn-based and active-turn-based) most of the game I purchased from the NES, SNES, Megadrive, PS1 through PS4 have been in the order of 40 to well over 100 hours of game play.
@Artemidorus
Personally I have never got a season pass and the only way I ever got DLC was with the game I purchased.
I have never touched micro-transactions and still I have got huge value for the ...
