Well I do have a desktop that will put most PC's to shame however there is one thing missing. I don't run a Microsoft or Apple OS.

The current PS4's can already output 4k content. The only thing they can't do is output 4k gaming.

To support 4k gaming you need a very powerful graphics card and last time I priced them they cost as much if not more than a base PS4. Somehow I don't think this will be the path Sony will take.

What is also possible is for the PS4 to have circuity that will up-scale and smooth 1080p to 2160p (ie. 4K) This is by far the cheapest option other than a r...

It does not matter how big the storage is you will always have people who will fil it and then winge they need more. The problem is they expect this to be free.

Well I do have a solution to the PS4 running out of storage and having the overall read/write performance around 500 plus MB/sec. How does 15TB sound?

It really boils down to what type of games you like. Most so called AAA games are of no interest to me since I only like Action/Adventure and RPG's and even then I can be very picky.

Many of the games I like are normally huge and take many hours to play. On the plus side I get the best value for money out of my purchase and on the minus side I don't really have the time or the inclination to play many other games.

At the moment I am dividing my time b...

In the first few days of getting a PS+ membership I actually downloaded and have played the three free games for March. IMHO that are retro games but they are definitely playable, however I am also playing Bloodborne and guess which one takes precedence.

Fair enough, so you don't like playing games on the PS4 that have an on-line component.

I guess you will have to remove Destiny, The Division, Battlefront, Rocket League etc, since they are now unplayable and taking up valuable space on your hard disk.

But you can take comfort in your network isolation that you really have shafted it to the man.

What! Wait a minute that is too much common sense, now my beer has gone flat and the popcorn is starting to taste like cardboard. 😉

"Would you care if someone delivered a box full of horse sh!t to your door and dumped it on your front porch? Why complain, it's free horse sh!t."

Rather stupid analogy. In the case of PS+ if you think the free game offerings are "horse sh!t" no one is forcing you to download them.

If someone actually dumped "horse sh!t" on my front lawn I would have every right to be pissed, however if I request...

Having BC at the start of a console generation does help sell the latest console however it has been shown if sales are anything to go by being able to play your previous generation games two years down the time track is only a value added feature and not a console seller.

It would be interesting to know if the people who are winging now still have their games from the previous generation and if they did why did they get rid of their old console?

Of course I ...

I do think the people who are winging about the PS4 not having BC for previous generation games probably don't have those games any more or have sold their old console.

So if a miracle did occur and the PS4 was made to play PS3 games those wingers probably would not have the old games to play on it anyway and expect Sony to make those games available for free.

You do know we have PS3's which can play all PS1 and PS3 games. Ok only the first generation PS3's had backwards compatibility to play PS2 games.

I would say if sales are anything to go by you are very much in the minority for wanting backwards compatibility for PS3 games on the PS4 and if pre-orders are anything to go by the PSVR is going to do really well when it comes out.

Personally I would rather play current generation games on my PS4 and for wh...

The first PS3's basically had the PS2's hardware in them so they were backwards compatible and could play pretty much all PS1 and PS2 games. The PAL version of the original PS3 was a mixture of hardware and software emulation so it could only play flawlessly approximately 90% of PS2 games.

All PS3's can play PS1 games to almost 100% backwards compatibility.

Having the PS3 backwards compatible did help transition PS2 users to the PS3 since they cou...

What do you mean? I can plug in my headphones into the DS4 and it works, however my headphones don't have a microphone so the connector I use is what is called a three pole 3.5 mm jack.

If your headphones support a microphone you can plug a four pole 3.5 mm jack into the same socket and it will also work. You actually have a single bud headphone and mic which comes with your PS4. You can even use voice commands although I can usually find and do what I want quicker then I...

It is possible to add previous generation hardware to make backwards compatibility possible on the PS5. However if this adds too much to the price of the PS5, BC or even emulation which has potential litigation risks, won't happen.

Of course it may be possible that Sony my bring out two SCU's one with hardware/software BC with PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 game disks and the other with only BC for PS4.

Somehow I doubt the BC for PS1 though PS3 SCU will be tha...

While I do agree that being able to put your PS2 game disk into the PS4 so that the emulator can play it would be a good idea especially since I have 60+ PS2 games of which the majority work on my BC PS3.

I think Sony is well aware that they may be sued by the PS2 game's owners since the PS4 has no backwards compatibility to the PS2 architecture.

The PS4 cannot read CD's so any games on CD will not be read which leaves out all PS1 and some PS2 CD disk...

Unfortunately you would get more response from a brick wall then this type of people. It really does not matter what you say, these people are so set in their dogma that given the chance they would insist on witch burning and happily bring their families to the event.

Personally I have never really liked the GTA series of games however I do think the people who are winging about certain aspect of the games really aught to get a reality check.

What next, watching a 10 year old girl in a bathing costume or skimpy outfit in a game, anime or cartoon will get you arrested for pediophelia ... oh wait!

I do have the CUH1200 model which is definitely quieter, infact I can can't hear it unless I put my ear to it.

Even after play for hours the case is just warm.

As for charging the controllers I normally use my PC's usb ports and I don't have to re-pair.

Even without the stand the PS4 can stand on it's end although it is easier to knock over but then again why would you put the PS4 in a place where it could be knocked over.
