No problem. Now open your wallet and we will tell you when to close it. Oh and all your games now belong to us.

I think we have heard those words before. 😉

If you look at all the changes to the PlayStation all have been with regard to reducing costs and improving power consumption. Whether you have a first release console or end of life console all will play the same games and at the same performance.

@OoglyBoogly

I don't know why people insist on a cell phone analogy. No cell phone has an upgrade path, unless you count changing your storage size an upgrade path. Basically the so called upgrade is replacing ...

Why would they want to upgrade the Blu-Ray drive, it can actually play 4k movies already, although you probably will be hard pressed to find any.

Make it faster? again why since it is only used to load games onto the hard drive and the rate of transfer which is approximately 27MB/sec is still good enough to transfer a 50GB game in about 30 minutes. Even then you can play the game within a few minutes of loading.

Increase the size of the hard disk from 1 to 2 ...

Actually if you look at the prices for UHDTV's (4k) against similarly sized HDTV's (even with the same brand) there is not that much of a difference although 4k is dearer. The same also applies to monitors.

Unfortunately the availability of 4k content is severely lacking.

The major factor of HDTV adoption was a reduction in price, larger screens and a significant graphical difference over standard TV's. 4K Adoption is slower since many people alre...

All PS4's and XB1's can play 4k movies so the BluRay players don't need to be updated.

Underpowered in comparison to what? To my desktop PC, yes but most PC's in the market today have nowhere near the performance of the PS4 and XB1, especially when you take price into account as well.

Even my PC which is in the high end class of single chip cpu's is fairly underpowered if you compare it to over-clocked multi chip cpu's and 32GB plus of high performance memory. Of course you are really going to pay for the bragging rights of having these babies.

8k devices will be out this year and while they will be initially expensive they will drop in price and if 4k is anything to go by prices will drop fairly quickly. Basically if 8k proves successful then 4k will effectively be sidelined.

It would be interesting to see what graphics cards are going to come out for 8k displays. PC owners may have to upgrade their power supplies as well as their graphics cards.

Both the PS4 and XB1 will play 4k movies although they wont play 4k games, but then again there are not that many supposed 4k games on the market.

The problem with scoring by man game critics is if the game is supposed to AAA then 7 plus or minus 1 is considered an average score which leaves very few points to allocate to differentiate between what is considered average to what is considered legendary.

Actually 4k monitors and TV's are not that expensive when compared to their HD counterparts. What will throw a spanner in the works is the appearance of 8k this year.

Initially 8k will be expensive but like 4k it will also drop in price. Also getting content for 8k will be problematic especially since there is not that much 4k content even now.

It is going to be interesting seeing what PC graphics cards can support 8k gaming.

Well if you believe astronomers, at the centre of our galaxy is a super massive black hole so getting there would most likely kill you or if you could survive the event horizon you may end up in a different universe or .... ?

In Australia and I am quite sure it also happened in other countries. When the PS4 was release it was sold out almost immediately. I noticed that in some second hand stores that the PS4 still in it's box was been sold at twice it's retail price.

Could not agree more, scalpers are IMHO ragbags but unfortunately some people are stupid enough to buy therefore encouraging this type of behaviour.

In the US it is $399 however selling a product that isn't out yet on EBay is taking "scalping" to another level. Unfortunately there will always be idiots who will buy.

An average review from most gaming sites is around 7/10 with 5/10 being bad. IMHO Angry Joe get's it right. Even if Jo gives a game a 10/10 he always explains that this score while good is by no means perfect and further goes on to state that there is no game that is absolutely perfect.

If you want a reviewer that in the majority of cases rubbishes just about all games he reviews then try the following URL: 3715d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Now that I will fully agree. I started The Witcher 3 on normal and after White Orchard I restarted on "Blood and broken bones".

After watching Angry Joe's review I restarted the game on "Death March". The game play was like playing a totally different game which I could relate to playing Bloodborne.

Please note I am not saying TW3 is better than Bloodborne since both games are fantastic but unless you play TW3 on the higher difficulti...

Personally I do like his reviews and IMHO he has a much more varied taste in games than me. One thing I do like with Angry Joe's reviews is the entertainment factor even if you disagree with some of his comments.

I was interested in the Division until I heard it is on-line only which for me like any other on-line only game is a massive turn off even though I do have PS+ and I really do like RPG's.

All game reviewers have some bias and you always have ...

I fully agree. Having to ability to watch videos and play non VR games is a huge plus since you can consider the PSVR headset a private large screen HDTV as well as a VR display unit.

An interesting feature of PSVR is the ability of the player to interact with a VR game while other people in the room can watch basically what the player is doing and even can control some of the action. It is also possible for others to watch the TV separately while the person with the VR helme...

The problem with the PCVR solutions is you do need a fairly powerful PC to run them. If you have a PC that at least meets the minimum specification required to run PCVR then that is fine but if not then you have no choice but to upgrade or repurchase.

My desktop hardware wise easily meets the PCVR requirements however I have no intention of running a Microsoft operating system on my PC so I guess that leaves me the option of getting the PSVR to augment my PS4.

You can compare PC gaming to console gaming it really boils down to what you as the gamer likes.

Personally I like console gaming for the convenience and it has games that I like to play on it, however I also have a powerful PC but I have never been all that interested in PC gaming.

If you read what the writer said it is very biased and if you take a look at his other articles he predominately extols the virtues of PC gaming so it's not really surprising he puts down the PSVR in favour of the PC variants of VR.

He is definitely entitled to his opinion however in my opinion his opinion is biased.
