Somehow I don't think the crowd that wants an easy mode could handle a 40+ hour game (speed runs aside).

Here is an idea, play on easy, however don't get upset when you get invaded by a seasoned gamer who is the same level as you or lower and won't show any mercy. What you want your own servers now?

Catering to a set of gamers that have a short attention span before they want to move to the next shiny is pointless for the Souls series and Bloodborne since these are fairly long games anyway (40 to 60+ hours).

Because the games also have an on-line component you would have to have separate servers for easy mode users and normal users since I don't think a normal PvP player would give any sympathy to a player who is on easy mode.

In addition these gam...

@PhucSeeker

Well that was interesting. I wondered why certain enemies started to get more aggressive and came up with different attacks. I originally thought it was my level.

My insight is 15 and the skulls are 24 so for the time being I think I may hold off on the madman's insight.

Well you could use a 15TB internal SSD like the one from Samsung: http://arstechnica.com/info...

The PS4's internal file-system is based on a Unix/Linux operating system of which it's file-system should be able to support multi petabytes of data. A petabyte equals 1000TB.

The PS4 can read FAT and exFAT file-systems that...

The problem with summoning help is you may also get invaded and I am quite sure an invader is not going to take it easy on you just because you are a player on easy mode. Of course they could always have a Kinder-garden server for the players who want easy mode. 😉

It is a bit difficult comparing Bloodborne to the Souls series. There are quite allot of similarities however Bloodborne is a faster paced game where the key to winning is to dodge and slash.

Some of the Bosses and even the mini bosses are extremely fast and considering you don't normally have a shield it is very easy to be killed with one or two hits since a hit from a large enemy can stagger you and some enemy do follow up with four or five punches which in many cases i...

The main problem with so called easy mode is that the games have an on-line component and you would need a separate server to cater for the people playing on easy mode.

One very important part of the games is crafting by finding the appropriate items to enhance your weapons and armour. In addition there is spell-craft as well which can also be enhance. Players that want an easy mode will then want to be able to get crafting items and spells easily as well or just give up beca...

Totally agree.

One game I am still playing is The Witcher 3 and initially I started playing on normal which I found to be too easy. I then restarted on "Blood and Borken bones" and while that was harder I felt it was still too easy.

I restarted on "Death March" and it was only then I really started to appreciate the mechanics of the game.

While I don't mind having a game where you can select your hardness level and you...

Totally agree, especially about the badge of honour.

I am playing Bloodborne at the moment (well taking a break) and while it's not that difficult levelling up some of the creatures are tough and some do change their tactics depending on your level.

Basically I am having a great time and with every boss I defeat I really feel I have accomplished something.

Since none of the Souls games or Bloodborne for that matter has any form of mapping...

From what I have seen the game looks like a completely reworked and expanded on original Ratchet & Clank that came out on the PS2. Don't get me wrong here, when I first got the original I thought it would be a simple kid's game, how wrong I was.

Personally I would rate it between an 8 and 9 plus just on that alone.

If you are going to digitally download this why do you need to pre-order unless there is some pre-order shiny's you absolutely must have.

Like wise if you are getting it from a gaming shop. You would have to be very unlucky to find the game on BluRay sold out in all the shops in your neighbourhood.

I do agree with you.

My monitor allows me to switch between my PC and PS4 in seconds so my wife can watch what she wants to watch and I can use my PC or play my PS4 or if I swap my HTMI connector over, my PS3.

Just because I won't use this streaming feature does not mean others won't, which makes it a great value added feature.

Yes unplugging your PS4 power cord and HDMI connector then taking the PS4 into the living room where you then plug it into a spare power connector and HDMI port is so much hard work. Oh I almost forgot the controller. 😉

So do I and my monitor has two HDMI ports, one for my PC and the other for my PS4 (I can even swap in my PS3). With my monitor I can switch between my PC and PS4 in seconds.

@instantstupor

A reasonably good monitor is not that expensive.

Since you are connecting your PC and PS4 to what I assume is a 1080p TV with at least 1 HDMI port and possibly a PC display port, you obviously need a monitor which will support both PS4 (HDMI) and your PC. The problem you will find is deciding what type, resolution and size monitor to get.

For a 1080p monitor that you wish to share between your PC and PS4 I don't recommend g...

Having a monitor with twin HDMI connectors allows me to switch between my PS and PS4 in seconds so I don't have to share a TV.

Basically my wife gets to watch what she wants to watch and I can either play the PS4 or use my Desktop.

You are quite right.

However the PS4 is fairly small and you only need a standard power cord and HDMI cable (a few dollars) plus controller(s) so it is very easy to take your PS4 with you if you are travelling since most hotels or residences you stay at would have a HDTV with at least one HDMI connector.

Of course this depends were in the world you are and what you are doing but if you are taking a laptop and there is internet then there would also be a HDTV ...

You are quite right remote streaming is a cool feature, however since my monitor has two HDMI ports. With the touch of a button it takes seconds to switch between the PS4 and the PC.

As for saving on power usage, my PC when idle or just doing some minor jobs such as web surfing or using an Office suite consumes about 40W. My monitor consumes about 20W and when I am running my PS4 (CUH 1202A) consumes about 64W when idle and 100W when playing a game (Bloodborne).

It is unfortunate but I am still playing Bloodborne and I refuse to read walk-through's for this game so it is taking me some time and I am having a blast doing it.

As an example when I accidentally faced Father Gascoigne for the first time I was surprised and you guessed it killed. Prior to that I could summon him. When I finally took him out by my own method and it was not in any of the how-to's I was so elated.

When I do eventually get Dark Souls 3...

That it shoot the messenger.

Don Mattrick was only the spokesman for the XBox division of Microsoft, he did not set policy he only said what he was told to say.

If you want to blame someone blame Microsoft's policy decisions at the time.
