"I think I could count the games from it that I seriously played on one hand."
But... that's exactly the main advantage of a subscription based service like Game Pass. You don't need lock yourself to games in genres you know you'll enjoy. You can try playing games from different genres that you wouldn't buy. For example, I really dislike shooters, but I could try games like Gears of War and Halo for a few hours. I won't ever finish them, but it was inter...
I should've been more explicit and written "Although since this 3rd demo is exclusive to PS4 and PS5..."
Creating demos costs more time and money than people think they do. Capcom is already wasting resources in the Re:Verse unwanted multiplayer mode, so should they really be spending that time and money on unnecessary extra demos over using them on the real game?
Well, maybe I'm just bitter because of RE3 Remake, which was too short and without any extra modes, while Capcom wasted resources on RE: Resistance. I lost faith that Capcom knows what deserves their resources, and seeing ...
This game will already sell like crazy. Does it really need that many demos?
Although since it's exclusive to PS4 and PS5, I'd guess there's some good Sony money there.
I think 7 was the only one in the main series (and Code: Veronica) that I didn't finish more than once. And I can't pinpoint why.
It's a better game than 5 and 6 for sure (which I also finished more than once), maybe even better than Zero, but I just don't feel like going through it again. Maybe the first person perspective? Gameplay not being as fun? Over-emphasis on horror more than action (RE is at its best when it blends both perfectly) until later parts?
...
I wonder what exactly they're playing.
Or if they just saw it in stock, thought "if I don't buy it now, it will probably be sold out tomorrow" and decided to buy it just in case... I don't really want a PS5, I'd rather wait until some great exclusives are released, but if I saw one at the store, I would probably just buy it feeling lucky that I finally found one.
The main problem for me was the same sin Capcom commited with Resident Evil - putting much more action in hopes of selling more, and forgetting what made it great in the first place. DA: Origins battle system was awesome, but the emphasis on action in DA2 felt out of place.
The difference is that RE4 had a long development time and many ideas tried and scrapped before being released, what made Capcom, at least, change the course of 3rd person action games forever. It was "a bad ...
That's good to know. From my own experience as a PC gamer, although 30fps really bothers me, 45 is around the minimum for a fluid experience. When my PC is a little old and I need to sacrifice some quality to improve performance, keeping it at around 45 is what I try to do. (of course, when this happens I usually take it as a sign to just buy a new PC).
Since this was the only game I ever attempted to make a mod to, I agree with you.
It's sad that the sequels (Xtreme and 3) couldn't make me as interested as 2 did...
If you mean Divinity: Original Sin 2, I agree. The battles were so long and complex that for the short time I tried to like this game, I actively avoided battles.
I honestly wonder if XSEED is paying for good reviews for this game. It's not possible that some reviewers ignore the deep and countless problems it has.
I makes me remember of Street Fighter V. For some reason Capcom kept saying it was more newcomer friendly, but when I played it, it felt just like SFIV, and with extra things like V-Skills, V-Triggers, V-Reversals, V-Shift...
Until this day I have no idea where the "newcomer friendly" claim came from.
Even though it's Platinum, I don't feel confident about this game (especially after they started dealing with Tencent). However, 600円 to check it out and also Fantasian for one month, I guess I can take it.
"A part of your consciousness described as your ancient reptilian brain – which you literally engage in conversation with – attempts to persuade you to give up your quest even as your snivelling limbic system battles against it."
Funnily enough, this part right in the beginning of the game with "reptilian brain" and "limbic system" talking about things like the void and whatnot is what got me in a bad mood to keep playing the game, seeing that it was tr...
Sonic creator makes Balan Wonderworld, inspired by his past games, and it's bad.
Mega Man creator makes Mighty No. 9, inspired by his past games, and it's bad.
Shenmue creator makes Shenmue 3 making it as similar as possible as the 2 first games, and it's bad.
Seeing a trend here?
I really liked Mario Run's model. Pay once, unlock everything.
Unfortunately, people prefer to be whales, so Nintendo saw real money lies in microtransactions and gacha mechanics. So now I feel less and less excited for each new mobile game they announce.
By playing the demo, world and characters seem really interesting. Unfortunately, I really dislike tactical RPG, so I stopped playing in the middle of the first battle. I love the Bravely series and really liked Octopath Traveler. It saddens me that they decided on making a tactical RPG now instead.
If it takes two reviews, where is the second one? :P
This game has so many game design problems that it baffles me when I see a review giving it a high score without even mentioning them. It took so many things that worked in Trio of Towns, threw them away, and replaced with things that don't work well, like the over-emphasis on makers - this is a farming game, but you'll have more space with makers than crops in your farm, for example.
There are 22 types of makers, most of which you'll want to have multiples of (like the s...
I do hope they manage action a little better than 7. In the beginning hours of 7 I felt like I was just playing Amnesia.
Although it should also stay far from the over the top action from 5, 6 and later parts of 4.
