Good that they are fixing things like the stamina system, or needing that much money to progress (which made us play that terrible gambling game over and over). But I don't think they'll change other deeply flawed aspects, like the horrible battle system (for a series that started its life as "Virtua Fighter RPG" and had solid fighting mechanics in I and II, the system in III is inexcusable), or this game being basically a filler plot-wise.
I agree with every point. A list of completed P-switches and whatnot is desperately needed. I thought P-switches would be a good alternative to DS's missions, but not when you have no way of keeping track of them. Roaming aimlessly hoping you find something is not fun. Or giving no way of leaving a challenge that seems to difficult for you right now and having the option to easily go back to it once you feel more comfortable with the controls and the game mechanics.
For...
Game key cards: you can borrow. You can sell. You can buy used ones. Stores can sell them with discounts. You can put the case in your bookshelf with the rest of your collection. If you delete the files from your system, you just put in the cartridge and the download starts, without you having to look for it in your previously purchased list.
Digital: none of the above.
Unless they change the "enemies level up when you do" BS mechanic, I have no interest in it. I don't need every fight against even normal rats to be epic.

It looks like you also don't know that Google is.
Pro-tip: enter google.com, type "What is DeepL?" and press enter.
The most interesting part for me is that PS5 rental finally got cheap.
When Final Fantasy XVI released, I looked for a PS5 to rent, All the rental services I found charged from around 10,000 yen (at the time around $100) to half the price of a new PS5, and this for only around 1 or 2 weeks.
So I just waited for the PC release.
I agree. I bought the original 4 for GameCube, PS2, Wii and PC, played it countless times, but something about the remake just didn't really click with me. I finished it once, tried playing it again, but didn't go far the second time.
Meanwhile, in the original 4 I couldn't wait to replay it after finishing it.
I think you meant to reply to "justsomeoffdude" in the comment above mine.
@Tapani
Funnily, the complaints I hear about Rebirth are those ones. Side quests (well, mini-games in this case), new additions to the story and the ridiculous (or in this case, confusing) ending.
I'm a sucker and I already pre-purchased the PC version, but I have low expectations. I was also burned by the bad changes they made in Remake, and I have zero trust in Nomura.
In the past even their "bad" games were still fun to play. But gradually even their big games started feeling kind of eh. The Wonderful 101 gameplay didn't feel smooth, Star Fox Zero was plain bad, and after the disappointment that was Bayonetta 3, I kind of lost faith in them.
And I really don't think a game can call itself cozy with daily missions and the equivalent of battle passes. A cozy game lets you play as you want it. Making the player rush to do specific tasks in a limited time, is not.
Too bad it's still a gacha game at its core, so it throws you tons of different currencies, overwhelming number of mechanics and menu options at the same time. After all, overwhelming the user is one of the requirements of these type of games, as (one of the many) psychological manipulation tactics. So although exploring the world is still cozy, the game itself is not.
Thanks. Every review I read just mentioned EGS when talking about the PC version.
I never heard about this game before, the reviews got me interested, but then I saw on PC it's locked to Epic Games Store. So I'll just go back to ignoring its existence.
And they think it's a positive thing?
Potential new fans won't be interested in future sequels because they would need to know the story of all the previous games.
Old fans who were burnt by 3 (like me) won't be interested in the next ones. Especially if they are fillers like 3 is.
The truth is, Yu Suzuki threw away his golden oportunity of finishing the saga in a dignified way. Old fans were thirsty for its conclusion and they got good money o...
They didn't make it exclusive to Epic Games Store? Finally Square learned a lesson?? Miracles do happen.
@ChasterMies
It's incredible how you don't see how your arguments go against your own claim.
"Switch would have been DOA as a home console, where power does matter" / "PS2 was released before GameCube and Xbox. That gave it an additional year of sales"
Switch was released 3 years before PS5 and Xbox Series, so it would've given it 3 years of advantage. Even if Switch was a home console, it would've sold very well.
Have you ever heard about the PS2? AKA the weakest console of its generation which was also the one who sold the most.
Have you ever heard about the Wii? AKA the weakest console of its generation which was also the one who sold the most.
Even though I already have the game on PC, concidentally a few days ago I searched for it on Switch's eShop because having Switch's sleep mode would be a godsend. I was disappointed seeing that it wasn't released on Switch, and even more now that I learned it may never happen.
Having six nominations and not be nominated for any of the two "best game" categories is absurd. Especially when games that were not so well received, like Monster Hunter Wilds or Mario Kart World, are there. And this coming from someone who bought a Switch 2 with MKW at launch.
