I do have a base PS4, but since I have an RTX 3090 and a 4K monitor, buying games for it when there's a PC version, feels like a waste.
If I were really excited about it, I would probably buy the console version nonetheless. But as I said, it does feel generic from everything I've seen, so I'm not. I can wait until they release a not-EGS version, if they ever do.

@Teflon02
Yeah, it especially bugs me when a game trailer says "Windows PC&q...

I was very undecided on whether I was going to buy this game or not. Although I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy and I'm curious to see how it ties with the existing lore, since it's touted to be a prequel to the very first game, the looks and gameplay seem too generic.
That being said, I am happy to see that it's an Epic Games Store exclusive. So I don't need to even consider buying it anymore.

Lately I got the habit of waiting for a few years to buy fighting games, to get them cheaper, and including all the later released characters in one package
But KoF was my favorite fighting series, and this one looks really good, so I may make an exception. I will wait to read more reviews to be sure, though.

"But the issue is this is 2 generations of the same game"
The big question is: do we need a new Mario Kart? Switch is not much powerful than a Wii U, so graphically it wouldn't be a big jump. And if the graphics wouldn't be too different, we would need to have a big gameplay change to justify it being a sequel, and I truly can't think of anything that could be done with the formula.

In my opinion, Nintendo is trying to turn this MK into "...

Aww, you think he will finish the saga someday.
Anyway, the beginning of A Song of Fire and Ice is indeed incredible. It started going downhill gradually, A Feast for Crows was already a slog, until I gave up reading it in the middle of A Dance With Dragons. So many plot threads not heading anywhere.
George Martin uses a "technique" that he calls "gardener writing style", in which the author doesn't really plan the story, they start it with some ideas...

Still on the fence about buying this one. I do like the setting and I do want to see the world and mythos created by George Martin (glad he didn't write the plot itself, since in A Song of Fire and Ice, the world and mythos were awesome but the plot itself was bad). But if the game itself is loaded with Dark Souls unbalanced gameplay that disguises itself as difficulty, I might give it a pass.

It's not ambiguous at all. The pass with 48 tracks costs $24.99/£24.99, and it will be distributed in 6 parts.
If you didn't see the trailer (at 1:22) and went only by the article paragraph written at the top of this page, just access the pass page at the Switch eShop. It's explicit that you'll pay that price once and get all 48 tracks.

If they released it as MK9, people would say "but the gameplay itself is the same, so wasn't it released as a DLC for M8 instead of releasing a full priced sequel?"
This way, we get a full game worth of content, for $25 (the above text from the article makes it seems like only the first wave is $24.99, but that's the price for the whole pass containing 6 waves).

After Sword and Shield I gave up on the series, since it's been too many generations which I couldn't make myself play beyond around the 3rd gym. Legends showed enough changes for me to give one chance to it, and I'm glad I did. It's a big step in the direction of how I picture an ideal Pokémon game.

Putting Lightning ahead of Cecil and Tidus was weird.
In 3 games, two of which she was the protagonist, she didn't have any interesting conflicts or good character growth.

He did change by the end of the game. But it was too sudden, and too late in the game.

"He is distant because of just how taxing losing his parents and sister was on him as a kid"
Another reason why FFVIII's plot twist sucks. He can remember that, but he doesn't remember a single one of the people he lived with at the orphanage. It seems like GFs choose very carefully which memories they erase...

I find it weird Um Jammer Lammy being so unknown when I think it's much better than Parappa. It even has a secret second half which you play as Parappa himself, with rap versions of the songs.
However, while Parappa is famous and his first game even got a remaster, Um Jammer Lammy stays forgotten.

The first two games were ahead of its time. Too bad that the third game stuck in time with things that didn't work anymore, and didn't include a lot of things that became expected from open world games since the first games were released. It even added some baffling and horrible mechanics like the stamina that doubles as HP, and goes down as you run around.
This without even mentioning that that third game, plot-wise, was basically a filler.

Bravely Default II's soundtrack was good, but not as incredible as BD1's. In BD1 sometimes I stopped playing just to keep listening to the songs, like when walking in the worldmap and during some battles. The last boss' song in BD1 for me also tied the different tunes from the game in a more exciting way. I also prefer the ending credits song from the first game.
BDII still had some great songs, though. Just felt like a weaker package overall.

The list lost any meaning to me when it started with WarioWare. Sure, it changed a little the formula it's been using since the first game, but if you think deeply, the only effective change it had was that each microgame now has more than one way to be completed. I was also ready to hate the game when it was first revealed, but playing it made me realize it was a great change.
If a person said they loved the previous games, I don't see why they would "utterly despise it...

They decided to buy a game on Epic Games Store. They don't deserve any pity.
Epic should still be punished for it, though.

EGS exclusive, no graphical improvements over the almost 10 years old hardware version, and the plot still (of course) retains all the nonsensical timelines/destiny/whispers. So it's a big "no, thank you" from me.

I sold my Wii U and really miss Bayonetta 2. I still didn't buy it again on my Switch because I'm hoping they will release a special trilogy package,

One of the few games that make me regret selling my PS3. Good to know I'll be able to play it again.

After Capcom said her campaign in RE6 would shed light on her character and motivations, and in the end it explained nothing, I just don't care about her anymore.
