I am not sure why you are trying to downplay a million new gamers downloading and playing a game.
A million is a million no matter how you slice it.
The gamers are paying for the game through their gamepass subscription. The devts came to an agreement to get a certain amount of money for their game through gamepass and gamers are downloading it. That is good for the devts, MS, and gamers.

Sony announced Horizon Zero Dawn as an exclusive. Look at where it is now.
The issue is that games get more and more expensive to build because of their complexity, so staying on only one platform is next to impossible unless you can guarantee it will sell 5+ million.
Exclusives are disappearing from every platform. Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn are no longer exclusives.
And judging from their success on PC Sony is going to continue to bring "exclusives" to PC.
Really if you want to play exclusives PC is the place to be because indies mostly start on PC, and both Sony and Microsoft publish their first party games there.
I'm surprised that fanboys aren't in here saying that Flight Simulator is a last gen game because it ships on DVD.

The worst part about what you've said is that gamers are stupid enough to go and re-buy games again each generation disguised as remasters when 90% of remasters are just cheap ports to the next generation.

There is nothing wrong with the diversity of this lineup.
From what I can see from both consoles I doubt either one is going to be a whole lot better then the other.
To me, I am considering holding off on both, until they are cheaper and have a bigger next gen game library. Or at least a game I can't do without the new consoles.
I hate this kinds of reviews. Just by watching the State of Play 1.5 months ago it is obvious this game is not a 6/10. Didn't see it as a 9 or 10 either. On Metacritic it is currently at 84. I expected to settle in at 85-ish so no surprises for me. This is a typical Sucker Punch quality offering!

Every game should ship on every major console and PC/Mac platform. Exclusivity does not benefit gamers, it benefits platform holders with the games. That way, competition is in the quality of the games and subscription services not the hardware which is pretty much the same across the board.

I would describe this as a next generation simulator and cloud game.
I started playing it on GamePass about a month ago and was thinking, "Wow, this is pretty good". Will revisit it after I finish some higher priority games.
Obsidian has been a great independent studio. Now let's see what they do with the resourcing they have as a first party studio! Out of the studios that MS bought I felt that this one and Playground were the most talented. I am cautiously optimistic for all the studios MS bought, but am most excited about these two.

This is how technology evolves. Companies put a ton of R&D in, they sell it expensive at first to pay for the R&D, and then the price comes down to get it into the mass market. In 3-5 years both the PS5 and XSX SSDs will look like a joke compared to what evolves on PC.
The good news is that getting these things faster is going to become standard!

I am not at all mad at you, but we are living in a time where people are not making decisions based on facts. You say the game needs more marketing, but what the game needs is more walkthroughs with gameplay that really show what it is going to be all about.
I am interested in the game, right now it looks to be a hack 'n' slash Borderlands. And will probably end up getting this game ...
I will assess it based on what it is, not what it might be or their track record.
