VR was made mainstream originally through Oculus Rift. Many PC gamers had Oculus Rift years before it came to console.
And, I would hardly call VR mainstream yet. Even on PS4 where it has been most successful less than 5% of gamers on that console play VR. I don't know how anything becomes mainstream at 5% of the market.
I agree completely. The console is all about the easiest (and mostly the best) way to play games on a TV in your home. I have multiple TVs and consoles on those TVs. A console makes it really easy for me and my family to play games and stream video content.
But, a console is not the only place gamers want to play games. I have PCs, tablets, phones, and laptops where I also like to play my games.

i think the game should be the right length for that game. Some games are repetitive and long to make additional content. Other games are too short. There is a balance that can be found.

The video clearly showed Dirt which has stated they are hitting 120 fps in the section on framerates. It did not show AC in that section.
I think it really depends on the game.
I think it is better to say that many traditional places where game reloading takes time will be drastically reduced or eliminated this generation.
As developers push games forward they will find new bottlenecks.

The only thing that turns me off in console design is noise. Do anything else pretty much and I am fine.

XSX Memory speed is at 300-500 GBps... The SSD is 2.4-4.8 GBps...
PS5 Memory speed is at 448 GBps... The SSD is 5.5-9 GBps....

I don't see a lot of consoles selling at $549. If it is bundled with a game it becomes $599. The PS3 proved that a console above $499 is a tough sell. As Sony got the price to $499 all of a sudden the PS3 sales shot up.
To me, it is more likely $499, and $449. Sony won't undersell the console too much. They have a loyal following so it stands to reason that they will keep the following unless they do something really stupid.
I do not think a single PS gamer will flip over to XB because MS shows the game-for-game with PS5. If they are going to flip PS gamers it has to be more, because the first thing any PS gamer would say is, "Will MS keep this up?" which is an unanswerable question. We all know PS's reputation for first party development. MS needs to establish a track record for first party development consistency and high quality as well. That will not be done year 1-4 of this generation. ...
