Do you honestly think much of that was really hardware?
The Halo 5 console is $549 in Canada. That is $150 more than a plain X1 and doesn't even include Kinect. Unless you are a Halo mega enthusiast I doubt you'd buy the Halo 5 console. I like Halo a lot but I won't buy a console for $150 more just because it is a Halo console.
And the controllers are $75 which is $15 more expensive than regular X1 controllers. Again, priced for mega enthusias...
I played the game for a couple of hours today. I regret buying it.
I gambled big starting in about 2010 to go big on buying digital. (I travel a lot and carrying a few hard drives with my portable 360 Gamez case seemed to make it easier).
Now, the gamble pays off and I can keep getting value from the games I have invested in digitally.
Thank You Microsoft! This didn't make me buy an X1, but it is a significant benefit and thank you to 360 owners who have bought an X1.
First, Ratchet and Clank, and Uncharted are not new IPs.
Microsoft:
D4 - Adventure
Crackdown 3 - Open World Action
Halo Spartan Strike - Top Down Shooter
Zoo Tycoon - Zoo Simulator
Screamride - Rollcoaster simulator
Quantum Break - Story driven action
Project Spark - Game Creator
Scalebound - Action JRPG
Forza Horizon - Arcade Racer
Forza Motorsports - Racing Simulator

No, I'd rather play it through BC on my X1. Spending $30 to play a game I already own is ridiculous.
Great. Look what happened with Angry Birds after Activision got involved.
Agreed. This stuff is not "News 4 Gamers" to me. It is "Bait 4 Fanboys".
I completely agree that the headline is misleading.
But, frankly, these are the least fudged numbers. It shows how much money each manufacturer generates in totality from gaming.
There is no, "count this, but don't count that" it is pure, raw revenue from gaming. The most meaningful numbers there are.
As for MS manipulating numbers this isn't even MS compiling this. Putting an MS conspiracy behind it is really not that sm...
They are counting all platforms.
This is because gaming is far more than PS4 vs X1... It is about gaming on every device. PS4 vs X1 is an old school thought process. What really counts to gamers is being able to play games on all their devices. Phones, tablets, PCs, consoles, etc.
I've accepted that my X1 will do 900p in 90% of AAA titles, and I think that most X1 owners have done the same.
The difference between 900p and 1080p is pretty small unless you are 5 feet away from an 80" TV.
No, PS VR will be top quality there is no doubt about that. The issues with VR is you really can't use TV or print to sell it. It is the experience that is the product. Without the experience marketing is useless.
That's why they will rely heavily on word of mouth. People try it, think it is amazing and tell a friend or two. Then they do the same.
I'm not going to compare UC4 to Tomb Raider, because it is a first party game vs. a timed exclusive.
But Halo 5 is a completely different experience from previous Halos. It adds a lot of different gameplay elements, the graphics are dynamic 1080p, and the engine keeps a consistent 60 FPS. All of which the 360 had no chance of doing. Halo 5 is vastly superior to the previous Halo games from a technical stand point.

There is nothing wrong with making cross gen games. As long as the next gen version is not "gimped" to make the last gen version.
In this case it looks like a lot of stuff is much improved for the next gen version (level of detail, particle effects, colors, character models, etc) so I am not at all concerned.
I really like the new transformers devastation but, the next gen version seems to be exactly the same as the last gen version which makes me ...
People forget that you are paying for a network service and the games are add-ons to make you want to pay for the service more willingly.
That is the only reason there is a fee. It costs Sony and Microsoft 100's of millions of dollars per year to run these networks. The charge is for them to maintain the networks and make a profit from their investment.
Once people realize this the games are just nice bonuses!
So, what you are saying is that since they are forcing this game to come out in the timeframe for the movie we gamers should accept an incomplete AAA game product (aka No campaign).
Sorry, the logic flaws there are numerous and massive. Games should be built and completed when they are ready and complete, not to fit movie marketing schedules. Honestly, I think gamers are devolving with this kind of logic.
The game doesn't even tie-in to the movie so o...
I hope this game does not sell that well. It would be a reward to them for not having a real campaign.
To me, this game is like Titanfall. Great game probably, but lacking a true campaign makes it less interesting for me at least.
I like that these companies are moving away from exact sale figures. If there is no total sales available accurately on both side then fanboys will quit talking about sales and talk more about games.
Definitely agree that these devices are not at all comparable.
As for the rechargeable battery... I actually prefer playing with regular batteries. Rechargables consume cost through your electricity bills and I did the research and it is less costly to use non-rechargeable batteries. So, I don't think that is cheaping out. They are giving consumers options.
But, I do think $150 is a steep price for a controller. Even if it is gold plated!
What does this have to do with an article about how much space every game on X1 would require?
Incredibly off-topic.
It is because PS4 gamers don't want to play last gen games on their PS4. That is not at all a desirable.
Instead, the preference is to receive 1080p/60 fps remasters and pay for them... Uncharted Collection, Journey, TLOU, GoW III, Flower, Beyond, Dead Nation, Fat Princess, fl0w, Gravity Rush, Pixel Junk Shooter, Unfinished Swan, etc.
Why do you need BC when you can pay to play them again on PS4?
