If physical media is dying then why did everyone make such a big stink about XB1 being all digital at launch?
EB Games continues to be successful with play and trade.
There are many people who buy a gaming console because of the optical drive. Why spend $400 on a UHD Blu-ray device when you can spend the same and get a gaming console that plays UHD blu-rays. The argument is really flawed because PS2 marketed its DVD capability heavily and the PS3's ...
If you haven't played the Lost Odyssey I strongly encourage you to if you are a fan of JRPGs and very well thought out story games.
Lost Odyssey to me was an epic 120+ hour experience that I enjoyed every second of!
So what is your point?
To me that helps the experience. I play Quantum Break, Recore, and Forza Horizon 3 on both my console and my PC. I bring my gaming laptop when I travel and at home I have the big screen experience with my console and TV. My progress is saved on all devices. I used to lug around an Xbox in a suitcase with a GAEMS case. Now I just take the laptop I always take and can game anywhere with these games.
There is no reason that I shou...
As far as I am concerned Lost Odyssey was the best story in any game I have ever played.
I still think that VR is not going maintstream anytime soon. PSVR will have strong sales this holiday just like many console add-ons did such as Move and Kinect did. But, people will realize that VR is best for certain games and not as good for other games.
It will go down as a good product, but not for everything and everyone. Just like Move, Kinect, Steering wheels, fighting controllers, flight sticks, etc.
I have put in about 4 hours into Recore and am enjoying it...
Is it a AAA game that deserves 9's and 10's... NO!
Is it a solid game? YES!
I liken it to Knack on PS4. Lousy reviews but a lot of people enjoyed it. I feel the same about my experience with Recore... Lousy reviews but an enjoyable game.
Horizon Zero Dawn looks to be a great game.
This is essentially an evolution of the Action-Adventure genre (along the lines of Uncharted and The Last of Us) to become Action-Adventure RPG. Sony has done action-adventure games really well since Uncharted. There is no reason to believe they cannot continue their success in this genre with Horizon Zero Dawn. I am sure Guerilla is closely collaborating with Naughty Dogg on this project.
Just like Sony fanboys talked about how Last Guardian was about to drop since 2009?
Or VR has been about to drop since it was announced with the launch of PS4?
Or maybe about how Horizon has been about to drop since its announcement?
And God of War is about to drop?
What I find hilarious is how fanboys on both sides seem to think the companies they align with are somehow better then the other ones. The reality is tha...
Sony is not giving you the choice to play 4K blu-rays or not though. I think that is the big issue.
Microsoft was mocked last gen for not doing Blu-ray at all. Then, they were mocked by limiting consumer choice to DRM. Now Sony is doing the
While I don't agree with what they are doing, I think people should be held more accountable and liable for random scathing posts on the Internet.
Sometimes they do cause irreparable harm to the companies and people. Everyone and every company should be treated with respect.
Sony has taken on the role of deciding what is best for consumers and making choices for them.
No EA Access, paid backwards compatibility service (PS Now), 4K Blu-ray, PS Plus price hike, etc.
And before fanboys disagree... Microsoft did the same thing in the last half of 360 and early part of this gen... Pushing Kinect, DRM, limited first part exclusives, etc.
Just goes to show that gamers can't trust any companies to act in our ...
Yet there is no mention in the article about the balance that needs to happen with publishers, consumers, pirates, and the used game market.
I don't disagree with the article as much as it is yet another one sided view of things that does not give a look at the full aspect of consumer and publisher practices.
There has to be a way that everyone can win.
Well informed?
To begin with it is only a 10 paragraph review.
The review seems to focus on the fact that the FH3 is not a full-on 2,000 hour knock'em out grind'em out racer devoid of entertainment like some other racers such as DiRT Rally. It also slags FH3 for being too difficult as an arcade racer and too nice as a racing simulator, which is something that is the Forza Horizon series is known for and applauded for. It goes on to knock FH3 on ...
So, what you are saying is that a company shouldn't offer new features in addition to get more people into gaming with a more affordable package?
Microsoft fanboys did not build the Xbox One Slim. Microsoft did. Microsoft fanboys are talking up the features but the message and theme is that Microsoft built a XB1 that is smaller, without a brick (finally) and has some nice new features that many people want. If Sony had announced a PS4 slim with a 4K Blu-ray I doubt a...
I really think racers are going to be the show case games for VR.
Why is it my loss?
I have 762 games installed on my Xbox One as of today with its 2 x 4TB external drives.
You really thinking I give a rat's ass whether a game yet another generic controller ruining, Omega Force warrior type game graces my console?. I still haven't finished Dynasty Warriors 8 or Warriors Orrochi 3 which I have on my console waiting for my time.
The biggest reason for me?
I don't have a 4K nor HDR TV in my house of 6 TVs. All mine are currently regular 1080p. So, buying any 4K console is a waste of money until I make that investment.
That's fine. But, last time I checked companies are the ones trying to woo consumers. Smart consumers don't throw themselves at companies. That is not how things are supposed to work.
So exactly what does it give that you can't get from a launch PS4 that makes it a no brainer?
I can understand that if I was a new PS4 owner Slim would probably be a good choice. But, I don't know why an existing PS4 owner would go and buy one when HDR will be patched into their existing console (Which I think is very good that Sony are doing).
I have about 7 hours clocked in Horizon 3 so far. Some very good new adds!
The Anna feature to click down on the d-pad, tell her what you wanna do and she selects a route to it or takes you to it is very nice. They have made racing off-road a little more difficult which also is a plus. And the way they get you to upgrade festivals is cool as well.
They took a really good arcade racing game tweaked it in just the right spots and now the racing game does...
