I never once said that we must support every company.
All pre-orders are is an allocation based on what they know they can manufacture and want distribute to each seller via pre-order. They don't stop manufacturing because they sold out their pre-orders. They go and manufacture more to have in brick and mortar stores when the device is actually released.
Anyone who believes any manufacturer of a product is completely sold out is gullible. Manufacturers are controlling supply and demand strings to balance the market base...

Ummmmm... I did not single any company out negatively. You are reading stuff into it that is not there.
I did say when one company dominates it is bad. It doesn't matter what company it is to me.
MS started to dominate with 360 and then they went to sleep. Sony has dominated since the start of this gen and it is mostly asleep at the wheel.
To me Cuphead and Forza Motorsports 7 are exclusive. The others don't really matter much.
But, the question is how many decent exclusives are on other platforms for the rest of the year. Both Forza 7 and Cuphead could be 90% games. I don't see much on the other platforms that have 90% potential.

There is no reason for any game to exclude any platform.
I don't care about first party, second party or third party. I wish that I could play every game on one gaming device. No vendor has done that for me yet.
Ya, this just speaks to what happens when one company starts to dominate.
They get cocky and start telling gamers what is best vs. listening to what gamers want.
Whether it is Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Steam, etc. Gamers should not want any one company to dominate gaming. Competition creates innovation. Without competition innovation has no reason.
So you know the supply levels that Microsoft has at their online store.

I just went to the American Microsoft Store Web Site and online orders are sold out. Can't have been that bad of a sales pitch.
First both Sea of Thieves and Forza Motorsports are coming out as exclusives.
Second, Microsoft under Phil Spencer has been changing course on approach and delivery of exclusives since he took over in 2014.
Contrary to what many people believe, it takes years to change course fully. They cancelled games that they didn't think would be successful. New games don't appear with a wave of a magic wand within a 2-3 years though. They take many years ...
I am disappointed Crackdown isn't ready yet. But, as long as they are making it better I am fine. Everyone complains that MS only has exclusives for the holiday season so they are spreading things out which is good.
Sea of Thieves and Forza Motorsports both seem to be high quality exclusives for the 4K console.
It won't be until a new IP, Gears, or Halo before we see a 4K title where it truly matters.
I get my xbox gift cards at Costco online all the time discounted.
Last generation it was Sony. The launch console was over-priced, lacked games, and introduced a lousy network that did not have trophies are pretty much any features for the first two to three years.
This generation MS was over-priced and introduced game and network features that tied it to online only.

1) Building half-assed sequels that made changes where fans really didn't want change and didn't make changes where fans really wanted changes.
2) Re-releasing all the historical titles without a single improvement in gameplay or graphics really. You look at games like The Last of Us and Gears of War on the latest consoles and they were improvements over the originals. The Capcom releas...

Let's get some new versions of this franchise rather than a recycling of the existing content.
And most of the re-releases are just recycling. No real modernization of either the gameplay or visuals. Just straight up ports.
When a game is hyped for a couple years and then it is released and not that great they need to do something special to bring it back to life for those people that paid full price on day one and received disappointment. Sony has done this a few times this generation. Namely No Man's Sky and DriveClub. Microsoft isn't much better... Touting games like Scalebound and Fable Legends than not ever delivering them. But at least I didn't have to pay to find out they were going to be...
It was the worst of the new batman games but still good.
I bought it on launch week. Got a third of the way through then a stupid known bug in the software corrupted my game save. I went into months of anger counselling, they fixed the game save bugs through patches, and after a few years got over it.
Would love to go back, restart, and progress through the whole game.
I don't disagree that exclusives matter.
But, making a news article about how the console with over 50% of the install base of consoles this generation had its sixth charting game this year is kind of like saying a lot of really talented people come from China and India. Of course they do, because over have the planet is Chinese and East Indian.
