@Rimeskeem.
One big game does not make a full year.
Agreed.
But at the same time I look at the VR products I have seen so far as more prototypes than final products.
And although I do by a lot of tech to play with I just find it very hard to justify buying tech that is really a prototype of something that will be much better and more defined 5 years down the road.
If you have $200-300 to play with VR all the power to ya! But, the rest of us will wait until others flush it into what it w...
So much for X1X being DoA.
People are saying this is awesome.
But be careful what is wished for... Its replacement may be worse.
I think there is a lot of confusion in this article.
I think there are two parts two video games like SWBF II. There is the single player experience and then there is sport of playing multiplayer.
The number of hours of single player experience is 5-8 hrs for most DICE games so I would assume it is the same here. If it is then paying $60 for a 5-8 hr single player experience is roughly equivalent to buying a bluray movie for $20 for 2-3 hours of enter...
@rainslacker
So really what you did was prove my point. If the 3 console vendors standardized their hardware it would no longer be as much of a mess for the consumers. We could buy any game and it would work on any device and we could choose hardware based on hardware rather then based on which consoles have what games.
Now-a-days the consoles are based on stock PC type hardware. There is no magic in them. So, I find it difficult to believe they could not work ...
What is the point of being able to buy a receiver from many different vendors? Or a TV? Or shop at some stores and not others?
Content should not define the hardware. Customer service and quality of the hardware should.
There is no way I can justify spending $1,200 on a Switch, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X just because Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft refuse to ship a few of their games on each of the devices. And I could buy way more games if I only bought on...
So they choose 4 games that don't ship on Xbox One and one game that is in 4K from 2015. So, 4 games that can't be compared on X1X and 1 game where the engine is more than two years old so pretty much any 4K capable gaming device can play it in full 4K.
Not the greatest choices for comparing to X1X.
What the title should've read is, "PS4 exclusives that look great on the PS4 Pro"... Cause that is really all they are saying is that ...
All I ask is that people who pay full price for the game are able to get the full experience without grinding for 1,000's of hours. Is that not a good way to reward people who buy the game at full price?
This is really simple.
Every game I pay full price for and tries to micro transaction me to death, I simply blacklist both the developer and the publish from getting any more money from me on future games no matter how good they are.
It is very interesting.
I thought 1080p was awesome, but now I have some 4K TVs in my home mixed with some 1080p TVs.
I am used to the 4K TVs now so when I see a 1080p it looks fuzzy and low definition.
Black Friday is coming up. May have to splurge and complete my transition to 4K!
While I still don't see this having a significant effect on overall market share this is a positive sign for XB.
The thing to watch is next quarter's XBox subscriber numbers. if it moves up significantly (500K or more) that could show that some people are coming back to XB rather then XB gamers just refreshing their consoles.
These guys were with Activision before so they know what they are getting into and probably negotiated favourable terms.
I really like the X... But, I am under no delusion that X is going to swing the pendulum in really any meaningful way.
There are some gamers it may sway. But, I don't see droves dropping PS for XB.
To me Titanfall 2 was a great game and I bought it.
Gamers should buy great games regardless of the release date.
One of the better written news articles.
Seems like a well grounded assessment.
@WaqarYounis18...
I laugh so much at your funny comments.
PS4 install base 65 million. XBOne install base 30 million... If it doesn't sell more on PS4 there is something seriously wrong.
The same thing can be said about DLC being 30 days early. No matter how hard sony fanboys try to convince themselves, differences aren't massive.
I have both!
I still think not re-signing to help market CoD was one of the best things Microsoft has done this generation.
I did the first chapter of the campaign last night on my new Scopio Limited Edition XBox in 4K. I found it good but not great. The whole QTE thumbstick then button push mechanic is stupid near the end of the first chapter.
I will play multi-player for sure, but don't see this as a great game. It is "just another CoD".
...
Or alternatively developers and publishers could be realistic about their delivery dates and actually make them.
