Despite this, I'm still confused as to what Dylan meant. He implies that finishing on Casual would end abruptly, whereas finishing on Normal or Had would extend the game's length: a chief complaint in his game. Also apparently there's a longer ending sequence than the one Daemon mentioned, which would address another complaint.
Daemon refutes this by saying every difficultly unlocks the "last" stage, with the only difference for Normal mode being a messa...
I'll give you $30, but $20. Not buying it. Games like God of War III and Heavy Rain are still $30. It's been more than half a year since Killzone 3, and last I checked its price was $40. Dead Space 2 just hit $30 and that's been available for nearly a year now. LittleBigPlanet 2 still retails for $40. Same for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
I fail to see your point. Either you're picking up games I don't care about, or you're taken advantage of sal...
Most games go for no less than $30 these days. It's extremely rare for a game to hit $20. Vanquish, Darksiders, Yakuza 3, and a couple others come to mind that have been on clearance for $20 or less, but these games are pretty old now.
I can understand if you don't mind waiting for a year, but some people prefer to have a small backlog so they can focus on the latest and greatest. So if you want to save a couple bucks off the top in a year or two, by all means. I'...
They can have 'em. If these games were offered at retail, I doubt they'd sell near as well. Part of the appeal of these games is that they're free. They hook the casuals with the "free" bull$hit and then milk them for everything they got through their farming features and shortcuts.
Besides, I doubt any of 'em make more than Modern Warfare. Activision also knows how to milk their audience. This is why I refuse to support such a medium. Milking an aud...
So, already got Arkham City, Resistance 3, and Deus Ex from Toys "R" Us. Will probably get Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, and Dark Souls from Target. Now if Best Buy, Walmart, KMart, or GameStop follows suit, I'll round out the year with Skyrim, Skyward Sword, and Gears 3.
Yes, my wallet will cry, but it'll be a helluva a lot less with these deals. You can have my money. Have it all!
They should have let Danger Close handle the single-player. They did a good job with Medal of Honor. So long as they have a competent engine, I expect great things.
I'm honestly hoping for an experience akin to Generation Kill with Battlefield 3. Probably won't happen, but a man can dream. The E3 demo gave a Hurt Locker type intensity. I wonder if they were able to keep that going throughout. That's where DICE really captured my attention.
No kidding. An 8/10 IS a great game. Not by everyone's standards, but it is by mine. If people are going to take these scores seriously, at least know how to interpret them:
10/10 - Masterpiece or Classic
9/10 - Outstanding
8/10 - Great
7/10 - Really Good
6/10 - Fair or Pretty Good
5/10 - Mediocre or Okay
4/10 - Poor or Bad
3/10 - Terrible
2/10 - Horrendous
1/10 - Abhorrent
0/10 - Spiteful or ...
I thought God of War III had the better art style, but Uncharted's was fairly good as well.
Replaying the original reminds of just how good the graphics were to begin with. Leap or not, these games hold up ridiculously well.
I still haven't beat Half-Life 2 because of the motion sickness. I just can't make it past an hour of play, and when I do I feel like throwing up. Not fun. Had it during Portal as well, but I managed to finish that before puking my guts out.
I think it's their engine. Something about the way they handle motion makes me sick. Great games, but, man, it sucks that I always feel terrible after playing them. :(
Resistance did this to me as well after a...
mmm... delicious. I approve!
Not one mention of Digital Devil Saga 2, for shame.
Knights must always tell the truth, Knaves always lie.
Person A says Person B is a Knight. Person B says either Person A is lying or he (Person B) is.
Is Person A a knight or knave? Person B?
Between this and CheapAssGamer, I hardly pay $60 for anything anymore. Of course, I don't mind waiting as much as other people do. Easy to pass on a release if you already have a huge backlog of games to play.
Jealous. :'(
If not, you're doing it wrong.
How dare you steal Sega's tagline! >_<
The sad thing is people had a right to complain. People were just looking for more reasons to buy into the handheld. Understandable, but the thing is Nintendo brought all that and more at this year's TGS. Maybe not this year, but the 3DS will sure as hell take off in 2012. So many games.
It's sad because the media won't suck it up and eat their crow in peace. They'll do anything to tear down Nintendo just to see themselves proven right. I really am starting to...
True 3D can actually be accomplished in gaming. Not so much in cinema. I expect Uncharted to make Avatar its ..... :)
It's not really fair to compare the two though. To get a true 3D effect, filmmakers would need to capture every angle at every second, which would be impossible but otherwise negligent with enough cameras.
Regardless, true 3D would be impossible to replicate with a cinematographer as he/she would not be able to capture every angle as each ...
N4G's fickle. Don't let it worry you. I guarantee no one here thought about it for longer than 5 seconds.
