Don't bother. The game falls apart after homicide and the Black Dahlia killer. Lacks focus, which in turn translates to zero motivation for the player. The game's way too long. Much of the story could be contained within 10 hours. Gameplay, as mentioned a million times before, is extremely repetitive. This game started out strong, but took a nose dive around the twelve hour mark.

For me, GOTY contenders are inFAMOUS 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Dead Space 2, and Portal 2. In...

I agree with Redfield and Alistair. Everything else is variable. I do like the new Cole from inFamous 2, though.

Maybe it's just me but the use of "Were" disturbs me. Should be "We're".

2 and 1/2 hours...
2 and 1/2 men...

ah, I think you got it!

I'll be buying this game to promote visual novels in the west. Hopefully, they bring over Umineko no Naku Koro ni to the PS3 as well.

"I’m just saying Saito isn’t the kind of boy I would bring home to my mother."

lol I wouldn't bring any boy home to my mother. Maybe a man.

Don't care which is better. I'm buying Uncharted for the singleplayer (and possibly co-op). I probably won't play either's multiplayer as I will probably move on to Assassin's Creed: Revelations or something. Too many games to play to care about MP.

Unless the Wii U has Xenoblade, the problem will never be fixed. I'm going to go cry in a corner now. :'(

The story was great, don't worry about the people attacking you. They're just insecure. They need to go to forums and discussions like these and look for the support of others to make themselves feel better. It's sick actually.

Never mind the fact that story is often times subjective because it's the impact and relevancy that matters. I bet half of 'em haven't even read a book this year. Nor do they play enough story based games to actually act all sup...

I have to echo cob's sentiments here. The combat system was easily the best part about the game. And by the way, no one bought Lost Odyssey because of the combat system. Reason being because it was like every other JRPG. And yes, I've played both.

Well, I'd still buy the game because I find the production quality to be on a far higher level than most Omega Force games. It'll be worth it, especially since I doubt they'll charge more than the equivalent of $40 for this.

My only hope is that this makes it over to the West like the last one (read: an actually really good dub). I'm still working my way through Samurai Heroes and the only character I don't like in terms of moveset or abilities is Tsurihim...

The Hurt Locker was a satire that made extensive use of character study on war and adrenaline. It remains as one of the most intense movies I've ever seen. Fully deserved, in my honest opinion.

I do believe games can have an impact of equal magnitude as movies. All it takes is something like Heavy Rain, but with a more general control scheme. People need to stop demanding avatars as we are losing the heart to our narratives because of it. The experience should focus on on...

Towns had no point in Final Fantasy XIII. I'm glad they took them out personally. XII and IX had the most interesting use of towns as they actually added a great deal of value to the narrative. But it just doesn't fit in a game like XIII. Where have you been all this time? N4G needs more level headed people like you!

All that is still there, but what you say is true. Just be careful when you go about this site speaking the truth. The community seems to have sad little virgin ears.

By the way, you do know that back when it was released, on GameFaqs (yeah, you know, the very same site you listed) it used to be at a 9.5/10 and had ridiculous amount of positive feedback from those who purchased it in Japan. Everyone was pretty excited because of it. The backlash only started once the American press started reviewing the game. Get your facts straight.

I would show you the old page if I could. And besides, GameFaqs seems to attract the same crowd here who ha...

I can deny it and will. Granted, would I prefer more artsy games like Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Chrono Cross, or Valkyrie Profile? Hell yes, but the Final Fantasy series has been doing just fine with the exception of XIV, which has tanked in both sales and quality but they still have an opportunity to fix it, though I'm sure it will never be popular despite any increase in quality.

And the truth is, SquareEnix is doing just fine. They've been supporting the PSP more s...

Final Fantasy VII sold 10 million worldwide, but that was over the course of 15 years and several reprints. Final Fantasy X's last reported sales was nearing 7 million, and I believe they reported that back in 2005. Not sure, though. God knows if SE started counting the PSOne Classics as part of those 10 million. They probably did.

FFX hasn't seen a digital release yet and probably won't for a couple years yet. Then XII will follow. Final Fantasy is known for endu...

I have no idea what you're talking about. Nor do I think your comment is relevant. Admittedly, I was being lazy when I said a bunch of sites, but because you probably think it's a bunch of no-name sites:

IGN, GameSpot, 1UP, NeoGaf, GoNintendo, and EverythingNintendo (yes, the above site)

There's a bunch more but I can't remember the sites or forums, but if I remember right it is called Operation Rainfall.

Another myth. Final Fantasy XII was never poorly received by critics or fans:

92/100 Metacritic
91/100 GameRankings

Awarded Game of the Year by Edge and Famitsu.
Received Japan Game Awards' Grand Award and Award of Excellence
Received nominations at the BAFTA Video Game Awards, Interactive Achievement Awards, Game Developers Choice Awards, and the Satellite Awards for best roleplaying game, art direction, character design, and musi...

Complaints start everywhere. Not everyone's going to like the game. Same happened to Final Fantasy VII and X. There are a lot of myths going around about the series that are just completely ridiculous. XIII has actually sold more than XII, shifting over a million more units. Final Fantasy X sold a little over 6 million during it's run. Whether you want to admit or not, each main series entry has sold close to the same amount. Not only that, but each entry has hit the Greatest Hits bud...

Please, they have no idea what they're talking about. The east loved the game from the moment of its release. Recent polls have put Final Fantasy XIII as the best game of all time by both readers and magazines (Famitsu). You may disagree, but I have a feeling America's just having a knee-jerk reaction because they think JRPG's are behind the times, and look to their own studios like Bioware and Bethesda for supposedly "great" RPG's. I can't believe everyone's...
