o_O I've always loved Square's cinematics. They really know how to reward the player.
I agree with the fact that anybody taking the aiming THAT seriously is a total tool, but what you say here is completely false, trouble_bubble. You can't just run-and-gun. Most levels will have you pinned down, forcing you to make use of cover. Don't get me wrong, you can play at a generally fast pace, but you can't run-and-gun. You'll get killed in seconds, especially later in the game.
The AI has been improved, and they will now go out of their way to flank ...
lol Calling me a liar? You can check my profile. I got the 100-headshots trophy about a third of a way through the game. My hit percentage was close to 50% before I started pissing it away with the PAK, I believe it is (the huge fucking turret). What makes you think I didn't?
If you look up the recent trophies under my tag. You should see a bit from U1, U2, and U3 from a little over a week ago. U1 and U2 I completed on Hard, so you can look for that, and U3 normal (which ...
Wonder if they'll do the same when Bethesda doesn't end up patching their game in a week or so...
I played the whole trilogy in a single week. Didn't notice a single problem 'til someone mentioned it. And even then, I didn't care and just kept playing. Completely forgot about it until I heard it here again in a review the other day.
That's cool. I'm not going to lie, I still find it hard to believe that you actually liked the game. Part of me believes it's because of the sheer amount of time you spent covering the shooting mechanic when it was equal parts platforming and melee. In that sense, it would be easier, as your writing here doesn't convince me that the overall gameplay was enjoyable, which is a big part of the game (I mean, a good games has to have first and foremost good gameplay).
lol I haven't played the game. It's one of my worries because I remember Wii Sports/Resort. Never once do I mention Zelda. All motion controls scare me because of what developers might do with it (flailing arms about aka waggle). I'll find out myself whether Zelda's motion controls are great or not next month (it's just an opinion).
Also, this part makes me think you're not being fair:
"There were a couple of times that I felt the game spoiled a puzzle as I was trying to think my way through it."
Those hints were given often 10-15 minutes after a section opens. For example the light puzzle (the one with the horse, lion, and eagle). Yes, they'll give you minor hints after the first 5 minutes or so, but they're nothing big. They just walk around the room and tell you to invest...
"Don't be sheep."
lol That's rich. I disagree with the shooting mechanics. I think they're fine. Even if they do patch them, I doubt your opinion would honestly change. If you didn't like the game, you didn't like it. Don't hide behind the poor excuse of shooting mechanics to convince you otherwise.
There's no way in hell I'd honestly want to go back to any CoD after MW2. I'll give it a shot some time, but I could...
Nice editorial. I completely agree... it's just, I'm not a fan of motion controls. It's not as immersive as I thought it would be. There's something to say for the controller. If I want to experience a game, I don't want to tire myself out. If I did, I'd just take a break. Depending on the game, this can happen often, and really take you out of the experience.
Now with the controller, you're performing simple movements; nothing motion based, meanin...
The water rushing through the ship in UC3 isn't dynamic as it's still a linear game, but when the water plays no consequence (kind of like the grenades and explosions in FC2). It is dynamic. Same for the fire and same for the sand, and if you honestly think FC2's engine has better lighting you are crazier than I originally thought.
You obviously haven't played The Chateau and watched individual light beams pass and sway through branches in the tree causing dif...
lol, you do know Uncharted 3 has perhaps the best physics engine: they're water, fire, and sand engine alone have yet to be surpassed, and it's all dynamic. Name a game that comes anywhere close to this.
I whole heartedly disagree. In summary, I think you're full of shit, and you have no idea what you're talking about. Also, graphics are more than textures. I'll echo the comment I made in an earlier article regarding the topic:
"Am I the only person that believes LA Noire deserves the nomination? I mean, yes there's the Witcher 2, and yes there's Skyrim. Hell there's Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, and even Gran Turismo 5. But something about the environm...
lol I wouldn't want to rank them. I love them all too much... So, I'll cheat:
1) The Uncharted Trilogy
2) God of War III
3) Heavy Rain
4) inFamous 2 *
5) ... **
* sadly, not the original; great story but too many other problems.
** toss up between Heavenly Sword and Resistance: Fall of Man

inFamous 2 was a ridiculously underrated game with a tremendous story. Probably more so than The Witcher 2 (the underrated part). Get over it. I honestly consider it deserving of GotY, but most will neglect it. Don't know why it wasn't nominated. You tell me... oh, wait, you didn't play it, did you? Figures.
Am I the only person that believes LA Noire deserves the nomination? I mean, yes there's the Witcher 2, and yes there's Skyrim. Hell there's Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, and even Gran Turismo 5. But something about the environments clicked for me. It was like I was taking a stroll through downtown LA in the 1940's.
And I know a lot of people give the game flak for it's notorious lopsided animations (reading faces versus body language) but the animations were on...
So if I played Uncharted 3 for you so that you might better appreciate the action, direction, and set pieces, you're telling me you couldn't see why it was nominated over Gears of War 3... really? REALLY now? really? o_O
Probably because The Witcher 2 only came out for the PC, while Dragon Age 2 came out for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. When taken to a committee to vote on, guess which one the PS3 and 360 editors and journalists will vote for.
Uncharted 3 has my vote as of now, but time will tell. I still have much to play over this next month. I've enjoyed many other games as well, but Uncharted 3 was more emotional, exhilarating, and just plain fun. My jaw was on the floor for a majority of the game.
Very nicely done. Don't see very many sites covering this. Job well done, Atomic PC. Thank you very much.
