Skyrim lost a lot to Arkham City and Portal 2. UC3 is starting to win quite a bit recently. IncGamer's will likely give UC3 the nod later this week.
In other words, that is a surprisingly ignorant statement.
I believe it. And I've played a shit ton of games this year. I'm starting to consider Uncharted an art-house game. It's not for everyone. The main draw of the game is its narrative. The character development is subtle. You have to dig a little. More than you would in Portal 2, but not as much as you'd have to in a game like Catherine. The setting has been inspiring to say the least upon each iteration.
There is no other franchise that has done what Uncharted h...
To an extent. I enjoyed the final chapter quite a bit. I thought the Cave Johnson level's were a bit much, ended up ruining the pacing a fair bit. My favorite chapters were the ones with Wheatley--such an awesome character. ^_^
I was slightly irritated by some of the puzzles--err... levels. Most of them were intellectually stimulating, but there were a few that were God-awful and annoying. One in particular had you scouting the top of a huge structure with multiple floors...
Portal 2's narrative improved significantly. I still have minor quibbles with it that hold it back from true greatness, but it deserves to be mentioned with the best of the year.
I liked 2009-2010 better. 2007 was hardly a blip on my radar with the only notable games being Uncharted: Drake's Forturne, BioShock, and Heavenly Sword. 2009 saw the release of Killzone 2, inFamous, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, BlazBlue, Metroid Prime: Trilogy, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Demon Souls, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time, Bayonetta, Assassin's Creed II, Left 4 Dead 2, and Dragon Age: Origins. I mean, 2011 is a helluva lot better than 2006 and 2007, maybe even 200...
Hey now, it's easily one of the top 5. I'd honestly put Uncharted 3 over this, which was notably absent from this list. Instead they put LA Noire on there. That was enough to convince me not to take this list seriously. Though, they included most of the good ones.
or
Naughty Dog/Quantic Dream
or
Naughty Dog/Valve
All of these, would be great dream teams.
hai there trolls
The game hasn't even come out yet. Damage control much.
I actually think he looks a bit like Sam from the final version of Conviction.
Is this not an article covering the user ratings? It went up from an 8.0 to an 8.4 in little over a month.
Really? Most of these don't even have 100 reviews yet. Some are still dropping: Skyrim. Some are still rising: Uncharted 3. Besides, who cares. MetaCritic is one of the most trolled sites on the internet (case and point: Portal 2). If you want a good user aggregator, check out GameSpot. They usually have 1,000's of reviews.
I take it you haven't played Silent Hill then.
Sorry, but the Black Baron was easily more important, hence why they spent 5 minutes on the guy. You should feel privileged you even got a 10 second blurb. /s
GameStop also has the 3DS bundles (Zelda and Mario) going for $180. Pretty good deal if I do say so myself. Deciding whether or not I want to take the plunge.
Really? Personally, I'm excited if only for the narrative. The direction and writing, even in this short trailer is indicative of the final design. You can't determine what the gameplay is per se, but you can determine that this will be first and foremost a character-driven story experience. Not to mention, the other half of the creative team behind Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is working on this. I'd say that's a helluva good sign.
See what will happen is I'...
It was a pretty big disappointment after Naughty Dog's showing, which was entirely in-engine. I'll probably pass on this light-hearted romp. I need more meaning in my games.
No kidding. I nearly had a heart attack. How can they do it? The game looks like sex. Can't wait. Hope they show more! Was that Ellen Page? Excellent direction. It's Uncharted + I Am Legend + Walking Dead
This is quite possibly the biggest MEGATON ever.
Platinum had nothing to do with the PS3 port. If you want to see how well they do when they lead on PS3, check out Vanquish (from the director of Resident Evil 4). Platinum Games is one of my favorite developers alongside Naughty Dog, Remedy, Valve, Sony Santa Monica, and Rocksteady.
If I'm not mistaken, single-player is on the rise. It's only the occasional game like Modern Warfare 3 that truly dwarfs the sales of most other games. I for one don't have time to play multiplayer. So normally, I'll beat a game and it goes back onto my shelf. If it's good, I'll replay it some day. That's how it's always been for me since college.
Well some would argue the difference should have been bigger what with inFamous 2 and Resistance 3 getting high praise from the community. Killzone 3, not so much. But still, yeah, deserved but... >_>
