I sometimes wonder how much effect which game was the first you played in a series has. With FF my first was FF7 and that's my favourite closely followed by 8. I enjoyed 9 at the time but I prefer 10 now and I haven't liked any since although I haven't tried 15 because of not liking 12 or 13.

I often see people say that Demons Souls is the best game that From have made but Dark Souls was my first of theirs and for me it's a much better game. I think whichev...

I always liked the Killer Rabbit from Dragon's Crown, nice reference to Monty Python and a fun boss in general. Tasted good too.

I'd like to create my own stuff, but if inspiration doesn't hit or I can't get to grips with the mechanics behind it then there's still going to be an absolute deluge of games made by more talented people to get stuck into.

"Microsoft is betting on a subscription model that can be used across multiple devices". Ugh.

I'll take a PS5 please.

Well said. Quality games, no gimmicks or messing about and comfortable couch gaming is all I want.

Better graphics and frame rates come with advances in tech and that's great but it's the stuff I mentioned before that's most important to me.

Going off that picture he looks like they blended Leo Di Caprio, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck and called it a day. It's too early to draw any conclusions but an overly generic main character can drag something down quite a bit.

I don't have anywhere near enough faith in this remake to look forward to anything specific. If they show us some footage that looks like they know what they're doing then maybe some optimism will be sparked.

Fair enough, I've read Innsmouth and I'd forgotten about it originating from Polynesia which does cast it in a different light given what we know about Lovecraft. Don't think I've read Arthur Jermyn but that plot line also is clearly born from racism.

I think it's fair to say though that the devs of the game could have swerved that stuff and not have had to include a warning of racism. It's not like it was so baked into his writing that referencing ...

No doubt he was racist, even for the time, I just never felt it was blatant in his books. I haven't read all of them so maybe it's worse in the ones I haven't.

I remember the heroes being white and ditto the villains, when they weren't fish people anyway. Yes there's a common theme of sinister communities being investigated by an outsider but as far as I recall everyone was white.

I remember the one book with the guy's cat having a really dodgy name, but I've read a lot of Lovecraft and I must be tone deaf because if he was racist to the point of needing a warning it flew over my head.

I know it's a bit of a dirty word these days but I'd love to see their take on an open world RPG. It could work really well with their subtle storytelling and top notch game design and I'm sure it'd feel fresh.

There's literally not one person who has commented who has said or even hinted that they want the game to fail so I don't know where you cooked that up from. There's a bit of understandable skepticism about EA's practices but not one person has said they want it to fail.

I like The Surge and LOTF was alright but they're lacking personality and imagination and I hope they can put that right for this new game. They're mechanically sound but visually and thematically dull.

All he has to do is say one word and it says as much as a full speech from someone else. Great writing and performance.

That's always the impression I've had. Miyazaki seems to see his games as art (I would agree) and if an artist's heart isn't in something they may well simply not do it.

They've already created another new IP since, maybe that's the path they'll go down and Bloodborne will stand alone.

If anything it's slightly underrated. Strong contender for game of the generation imo.

Dunno if the product itself is any good but it seems a good enough idea. You could use it for anything but it'd be great for snowboarding and skateboarding games, not that they exist these days.

I've been a bit dubious about it but it's looking pretty decent now. Could still use a good polish graphically but the gameplay looks solid now.

These all sound rubbish. The Witcher series might be 6/10 watchable.

These articles can F off now. There's nothing more to be said on the issue.
