Probably my favourite game on PS5, definitely the one I've played the most. Returnal in second place.
I loved it, then suddenly I didn't. The puzzles got more and more obscure and inscrutable as it went along and it was eventually more annoying than fun.
I'd still recommend it though, I got about 40 quality hours out of it and 'finished' the game. Just need to pretend there aren't about 80 unsolved mysteries when you do so.
Tbh I'd rather their values and commitment were reversed and we got a true follow up to TS3, rather than the shameless milking of TS4, which is crap.
Not interested in Halo personally. Love Forza Horizon 5 but that's about it for me until ES6, whenever that may be.
Strong initial sales of Xbox games on PS aren't likely to be sustainable in the long term, the success of FH5 and a couple of others isn't going to apply to the entirety of Xbox's catalogue, which is limited anyway.
Didn't particularly enjoy Outer Worlds but that's probably the approach they should have taken, a few big maps on different planets with smaller sections in between. Procedural generation doesn't suit RPGs.
I would have thought an expensive premium quality console is the opposite of what they should do. It would kill Gamepass subs and without them who's buying it and why?
I can appreciate attention to detail but it sounds like they went way overboard tbf.
I'd say it's that many years worth of bad decisions have finally had their inevitable impact. Going all in on Gamepass was the big one, killed revenue from software sales which is where the money is.
They could potentially save the series by taking that big budget and using it to focus on a new, high quality concept for the franchise, nothing else is going to do it. All concentrating on MP will achieve is to kill it off quicker.
I do find it a bit odd that they've priced it so low, presumably to make it accessible to as many people as possible, while also making it inaccessible to lots of people because of how hard it is.
Personally I don't mind the difficulty and can handle it, although I wouldn't complain if it was a little bit less challenging.
It's an actor called Patrick Gibson (young Dexter) playing the role so it's not surprising it's modelled on him.
I thought it looked fun and decent quality but yeah some of the enemies missing him at point blank range didn't help it. Could have handled those bits better.
Even if it only ends up working on a superficial level, the idea of having three potential villains is interesting and gives you a unique reason to replay it.
Sounds cool, leaning into a darker world makes sense as the reboot was full of atmosphere and handled the nastier stuff well. I really liked it and more of the same with a layer of improvement could produce a classic in the genre.
Bit silly to pretend the relevant comparison is the profitability of PS+ vs GP. I have no idea if PS+ makes money, never thought about it, unlike Xbox it's only a small part of their business model. PS as a whole is profitable and they've always been open about it if you're keen to do some research.
I notice you didn't mention Apple TV which is losing a billion a year but continues to plough ahead because prestige TV is good for the image of the brand. That's the closest comparison to Xbox, the difference being that Xbox isn't doing its job and is now being pulled up for it.
Netflix has flirted with disaster for years, I'm not sure Amazon TV does make money.
The main evidence we have to go on regarding the sustainability of GP, beca...
It's not sustainable, people can sense that and it makes them not trust it. If you're spending money in any kind of long term scenario trust is important.
They seem to be allergic to using the word profit. Revenue means nothing without the full picture.
It very much looks like a polished up Colin McRae and I used to love those games, I wouldn't want to go back to them though. This might look better than those original games but I'm not fond of that low poly 3D visual style unless it's artistically stylised in some way which this isn't, it's very basic looking.
Pretty much. Not what I would have predicted when the PS5 launched but here we are.
