You can believe what you want to believe, but unless you are an alt account of lowcarb, I have no idea why you are defending him so vehemently. Read my post, I said nothing negative about Reach (only the trailer) as a game. My entire post was refuting fanboy drivel that lowcarb is saying.
However, this thread is specifically about a 360 game, and just like many ps3 specific threads, they are all the same, you can count on people to be ridiculously protective...
"Please stop praising KZ2. The game honestly does not look that good. Reach is going to give you guys another npd november shock moment."
Was referring to that post in relation to numbers. You claimed that you weren't talking about sales, which is a flat out lie or you are completely in the dark about what NPD is for.
I'm sure some die-hard ps3 fanboys will do that, but that's also very hypocritical, since you know darn well there will/would be plenty of die-hard 360 fanboys calling it the greatest looking game ever, no matter how it ends up looking. Although, I suppose you are one of them, but maybe you can at least agree there are some of you types on both sides.
Anyway, I never saw anyone claim the trailer as CGI. What I, and many others, know, is that the trailer was pre-rendered using i...
Many people will disagree with me, but I have a feeling Batman may start to become a little overrated. It was an amazing game, and definitely in my top 5 this year (UC2, DS, B:AA, DA:O, Infamous, probably in that order). However, I just don't see how anyone not trying to avoid controversy from non-ps3 owners can give the GOTY to anything but UC2.
I have a strong feeling that a lot of sites will end up giving it to Batman, for one, to avoid giving it to any exclusive game (thi...
Great game, lots of bugs, but the story was absolutely amazing. Probably my favorite story in terms of WRPGs, but there are a few JRPGs where I enjoyed the story more, such as Xenogears, FF6 and FF Tactics. Like I said, probably the best story for me in a WRPG, but I enjoyed BG2 more overall (including expansion).
Well, Guild Wars was always free to play after you bought the games. Fun game, but the amount of content (before expansions) didn't warrant a pay-to-play system, so they were right to make it free.
The end game was very lackluster, but it was VERY easy to level in the game. I didn't even play all that much and had a lvl80 demonologist (I think that was the name of the mage class, been a while) and lvl66 bear shaman. I think the game had a lot of potential but was rushed out and just never got back on track. Same thing happened with Warhammer Online.
There just aren't any MMOs I'm interested in playing at the moment and don't see any coming out anytime soon either. Aion ...
PSN release of English subtitles for JP version of game. That would be a really "cool" surprise. ;)
Although I can barely understand what you are typing, I completely disagree about E3 this year. In the past few years E3 was terrible, but this year's was really good and makes me want to pay attention to it again in the future.
VGA awards, on the other hand, did suck. Only redeeming factor is who got a couple of the rewards (mainly UC2, thinking it was gonna be snubbed). There is really no reason to watch it. Two hours for no entertainment value and any reveals can be seen...
Sadly, I would guess they only way the news will talk about this game is when making an uproar about it's brief nudity.

Yep, it's in-engine assets, like most games that do non-cg cutscenes (usually not all cutscenes, but think of the ones in UC2 or MGS4), but it's not running realtime. They use the game's engine to create the scene, but it's rendered on a computer with massive AA and higher poly/res models, etc. The thing is, it tells us next to nothing about what the game will actually look like, one way or the other, since pre-rendered in-engine shots can be made to look well beyond what ...
@badz
Hmm, just a guess, but maybe they thought the action adventure parts of UC2 weren't as good as AC2 (like the hand-to-hand fighting and platforming) and the shooting in UC2 wasn't as good as some of the other shooters, but overall it was the best game. Not a good reason to not win, but still, just a guess. I think it should have won Best Action/Adventure and Best Shooter, but I guess they didn't want to have it win everything.
The graphics looked really good, but if you saw the HD version of this trailer (not sure what's on the link, didn't click) it's pretty obvious it's either the PC version or pre-rendered. Not saying it's the greatest looking game ever, but the amount of AA and texture quality are far too high to be a console version of the game. Hopefully not though, but as with most multi-plat games that come on the PC (not even sure if it is or not), they tend to show the PC version for obvious reasons.
Well, obviously you didn't read or comprehend what I wrote. I said, now matter how realistic the character models looked, they still looked horrible. They look more realistic that UC2. Guess what though, they were boring characters and their facial animations, voice acting, body animations, characterization, etc. were all very low, especially compared to the characters created in UC2 (which, while obviously not important, looked just as good or better in the cutscenes than the Crysis model...
Batman was amazing, don't get me wrong, but UC2 was the only game in the nominations that actually did something new. All the other games used an engine already available. UC2 created an engine that will, in parts, be used in many games in the future. Also, it was the best game of the year, and best looking. I don't agree with the award. That being said, Rocksteady was definitely 2nd best as it was, for me, the biggest surpise hit of the year (probably a tie with Demon's Souls).
Although I'm sure this game will be amazing, I'm hoping in the 3rd game it will be a story where you play as the Joker setting up traps and devising evil plans. Of course, I guess it wouldn't be called Batman, but more of a spin-off. Obviously it couldn't all be against Batman since he works alone, but the Joker hates most of the other Batman universe criminals as well, so it could be against all of them where maybe you can even use your henchmen.
Well, to be fair, they never said it was gonna be a gameplay trailer, just that it was in-engine. That being said though, it was crappy. Obvious use of pre-rendered cutscene (think of the far more impressive cutscenes of UC2), which shows us nothing about the actual gameplay graphics they are touting so strongly. About as indicative as the BS PR shots they showed on Halo 3, and we all know how that turned out.
The Spec-Ops trailer was showing gameplay though, and looked really...
The entire show was boring, unfunny when it tried to be funny, and bad performances (who the hell was that crappy band at the end?). However, at least they got this one right. Sadly, the only surprise was AA2 (which was a good one, at least). The Reach video sucked, as did most of the other ones. Spec-Ops actually looked pretty good I thought though. Although, almost guaranteed that was pre-rendered or PC footage.
Most of the awards were given to the wrong game, but at least the GOTY was picked right (UC2 won if you don't know yet).
While I completely agree FFvXIII looks more appealing to my taste, to completely dismiss FFXIII and call it girlie (I'm guessing since it's main character is a girl) is kind of ignorant. FFX looked just as girlie (read: colorful) and it was pretty damn awesome. If it's solely because it has a female lead character, you have two options, FF6 (no truely main characters, but Terra would definitely be the closest thing. XIII doesn't look like it has a true focal character either) and FFX-2. F...
