Definitely wouldn't argue with a Xenogears remake, but to be realistic, if Squenix was to do a full blown next-gen remake, it would be FFVII, simply because they know that's where they would make the most money. Although, personally, other than Xenogears, the game I would want remade the most is FF6. Liked it a lot more than 7 and just thinking about it being made with ps3 top-notch graphics makes me want it even more. That being said, though, I actually believe FF6 aged ...
Only if you have some set definition for what an RPG is, and there isn't one. The combat in ME is of a TPS, but the exploration, leveling, storyline and character development are much more indicative of a WRPG. So really, the game is more of a WRPG than a TPS, but I'm not sure why it matters, it's a great game. I do, however, hate when people label anything as "best ***" as if it's a fact and not an opinion, which is what the article did.

Dragon Age, Demon's Souls, Persona 4 (if you wanna count as this gen), and ME1 and 2 are better than both of those, in my opinion. I really enjoyed Fallout 3, and would put it close with the others I listed. However, Oblivion was a downgrade in terms of funfactor (from Morrowind) and it was extremely boring.
I completely agree, they were under-appreciated. You can tell that by their sales. I hope as much as anyone that TLG is not in the same situation, but I just don't see why it would do better than the other two games (both received good reviews), unless Sony markets it like they should.
Only reason I care about sales is because if it don't sell well, TeamICO might be asked to quit making the types of games they are doing (games that some might title as "niche"), and ...
Funny thing is, the main game that beat out Shadows of the Collosus (on most sites), the year it was released, for GotY was God of War 1 (which, I know many will disagree with, but I enjoyed GoW1 more than SotC).
I have no doubt if TLG comes out this year it will be a heavy contender, but I also believe that it, like Ico and SotC, will be seen by many sites/mags/etc. as too niche to win GotY, whether it deserves it or not. That being said, I'm not willing to label TLG as GotY ...
Completely agree. Many times they use the word "overrated" when their comments clearly show they meant "overhyped." Really, though, "over-*anything*" is "overused" nowadays.
Well, a massive amount of FF's popularity can be attributed to time after FFX (FFX-2/FFXI and forward), in which case I would consider it overrated (FFXII not bad, but nowhere near some of it's scores, and apparently FFXIII is good, but not amazing). If, however, they are referring to the series as a whole, FFIV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, Tactics are still 7 of the best games ever made. So, no matter how bad the FF series gets, those games will make up for it, and hopefully we can add FFvsXIII....

Halo and Demon's Souls (and many others) don't have to look amazing graphically to be great. Valkyria Chronicles didn't have to to be great either, but I think it did look amazing, especially in terms of artistic merit (best looking modern RPG in my opinion, right there with Tales of Vesperia...I like the style...FFXIII make take their place though).

Except a whole bunch of us have played both games and find it pretty obvious that a "10" for one game can be a hell of a lot better than a "10" for another. After you have actually played a game, reviews mean nothing. MW2 is overrated, UC2 is not and it doesn't matter if it's a ps3 site or not, either. MW2 is not a bad game, but it is very buggy and very much a minor improvement over CoD4.

I think your "WTF" can be answered by pointing you at what site this is from. Gametrailers is good for one thing, and one thing only. HD trailers and preview videos, as long as they don't offer any type of opinion.

God of War and Resident Evil 4 both came out the same year as Shadows of the Colossus. Whether or not you think SotC is better than GoW and RE4 doesn't change that GoW (which won most GotY, RE4 coming a close second) and RE4 are both amazing games and belong in almost any top 100 of all time list (and many top 25).

The fact you think UC2 and KZ2 are overrated, but MW2 isn't, will put you in a massive minority with people that have actually played all three games.

I agree that most of the other games on the list shouldn't be there. Even RE5. It was overhyped, but I don't think 88 is all that overrated. The game isn't amazing, but many people (me included) see it as worse than that score, mainly because RE4 was so amazing, and we were expecting more.

While Claudia Black doesn't really look a LOT like Chloe, Emily Rose does look like Elena and Nolan North does look like Drake. That being said, you are right, why fantasize about Elena when her real life actor is absolutely beautiful.
Well, the predictions are off to a crappy start so far. Saints/Cardinals game is a blowout (45-14 Saints with 6min left).
Breaking Bad is really good as well.
The Kessen series is actually pretty good. Better than Dynasty Warriors anyway. Wouldn't mind seeing a new one, but most likely wouldn't be something I would be guaranteed to buy.
