I don't think silly bias exists with most of these sites, but that doesn't change the fact that Wired is a crappy website and has proven themselves as such many many times (about many many things, most not involving Sony).

Yes, the Playstation brand has had more good FF games, so people can quit claiming it's a Nintendo series. However, it seems you are implying that the Playstation iterations are better, except for 5? If that's what you are saying, I strongly disagree. 5 is a decent game, but falls more into the group with FF1-3. FF4 and 6, however, are just as good as any FF released on the PS, with 6 being my favorite (7, 8, 9 and 10 are all a tie for 2nd, unless you count Tactics, whic...
GoW 3 does look better, but FFXIII (ps3) is easily the best looking RPG ever made (WRPG or JRPG). I believe it was downgraded just like most (obvious from the demo released), and it still looks really really good, which makes me that much more excited to see how Versus turns out. (Btw, enjoying XIII a lot so far)
GT5 and SMG2 have a good shot at those really high meta scores. SMG2 may be a little more difficult, because they are gonna have to do a lot different for many sites/mags for those 100s next time, being the 2nd game on the same system. Alan Wake though, I've seen nothing to justify claiming 96+ on metacritic. I have little doubt it will be a "AAA" game (90+), but to get a 96+, the vast majority of the reviews have to be perfect scores (as seen with the three you listed).

They don't say the graphics aren't amazing all the time. They say some of the time they are the best ever in a video game, but not everything is of that quality.
I'm not arguing the overall score, but not giving a 10 for graphics because SOME parts aren't the best ever is just plain stupid. It would be like lower graphics scores for Ucharted 2 or Crysis because they both have certain parts that don't look good (buildings and stuff in them, for example, in Crysis), and everyon...
@9.1 Maybe you are delusional about the situation, but you can own all systems and still be a fanboy to one console.
You are bashing two of the most critically acclaimed games of all time (GoW 1 and 2), and a game that will almost assuredly be another one (GoW 3). So really, all your post tells us is that you have horrible taste in games.
I'm not sure why people are acting like the PC or console is better than the other for a game like Portal. It's nothing special in terms of graphics, and it's not difficult in terms of twitch play, so a mouse/keyboard isn't necessary (although the ps3 supports it, and I would guess nowadays most people's mouse and keyboard are both usb or bluetooth, so can be used). Half Life, Team Fortress and Left 4 Dead are both better with a M/K, but Portal is different. (may sound hypocritical now, bu...

*some GoW2 spoilers*
Actually that's a pretty interesting theory. Not gonna guess whether it's true or not, but it would kind of make sense. Athena seemed to be the only god that Kratos "liked," for lack of a better word. He seemed to be shocked when he killed her and almost like he regretted doing it, which is a pretty major thing for Kratos. After all, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, so if any of the gods/goddesses were smart enough to make sure...

*Spoilers from pics/footage of GoW3 so far*
There was some picture or maybe it was in a video, but Athena was shown in "ghost" form, which I'm guessing is what happens to the gods when they die. After all, they are immortal. Of course, that could have just been some flashback sequence, but she was ethereal.
Kind of makes me wonder though. When Kratos died, he was able to fight his way out of hell. So what exactly would killing Hades acco...
Heh, reading these changes, it's just another step in the direction of homogenizing every class, to where they are all gonna be the same. They did it with Lich King, and they are doing it again here.
Coming November 2011:
New Class: Holy Battle Mage
Description: All classes, at level 90, become Holy Battle Mages, which have access to all talent trees and access to all weapons and armor.
If it weren't for Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3, I would be right there with you. Sadly, there is no way I can pass either of those up.
The way they are talking, it sounds like they will probably end up giving it a high score, if this guy is the one that ends up reviewing it, anyway. However, don't expect a 10, as this is no Deadly Premonition.
While I want to see more on Black 2 as well, that can't be what he is talking about.
“Wait until you see what they (Sony) are doing next....very soon on GTTV!”
He's saying it's a Sony game, probably first party, but at least ps3 exclusive. Black 2 is multi-platform.
My guess is The Last Guardian, KZ3, UC3 (probably not this soon), Agent (not likely, as this wouldn't be what Sony is doing, but still exclusive, so possible), or possibly even the next Inso...
While I never thought GT was biased against the ps3, I do think they have horrible taste in games, at least in terms of reviews, a lot of the time. The fact that they gave GOTY last year to MW2 is, when looking at it now, down right laughable.
What makes you think having an in depth backstory (which was completely unnecessary, since I'm sure most of us have played the game) makes him a better villain.
First off, the actual boss battle was pathetic other than the music, while Kefka's fight is still the best FF boss battle in my (and I'm sure I'm not alone) opinion. Not to mention that FF6 is a better overall game (to most people that were actually playing JRPGs before FFVII came out).
Don't get me wrong,...
Really, Bowser is not really a "villain." Yeah, he's annoying and kidnaps the princess every now and then. However, he don't kill anyone, he helps Mario in quite a few games against REAL villains, and he's very humorous.
As most are saying, Kefka should have definitely been in the top 3. Sure, Sephiroth was a pretty good villain, and should definitely be on the list, but he has become a very overrated character.
I can think of a few enemies to put on the...
Complete open world can cause a game to lack focus at times and usually hinders the storyline, at least a small amount, but helps create a more realistic world(Oblivion and Fallout 3, for example). Complete linearity can cause repetition and lack of control to the player, but helps to focus the storyline (FFXIII, in this case).
Considering I've heard the game offers over 60 hours of gameplay, and I'm hoping for a good storyline, I will still probably enjoy FFXIII. I prefer RP...
Really, you could say "Patcher was wrong" to every single thing he says, and you would be right a higher percent of the time than Patcher.

Actually, yes, it was a boy in an adults body. If you remember the comic book Warrior Angel that Lex Luthor used to like, that's who the boy became after reading a cursed comic (it's not really as stupid as it sounds, this season of Smallville is actually pretty decent, unlike the last few). Anyway, it was kind of like the story of Captain Marvel, but using a fictional comic book hero that fans of the series would recognize.
Go into the game with a fresh mind, and don't listen to a lot of the hate the game has been getting. I'm about 25 hours in, and so far I enjoy it more than FFX. Both games are very linear, but we all knew that before playing it, so it doesn't bother me at all. The game/story is very fast paced, which goes along well with the battle system. Very fun game, with a few problems, but none of which take much away in my opinion. From what I've played, probably the most I enjoyed a game this yea...
