It's kind of silly that you are telling someone to change their mind about a game they've played because Zero Punctuation wasn't positive in his review of it. Not to mention, that ZP review is one of the worst as he's REALLY reaching for most of his criticism's, more so than usual. That's not even mentioning that there's a very good chance (50/50) that you have never actually played Uncharted all the way through.

The Cell has 7 SPE's (Synergistic Processing Elements, 7 active out of 8 possible for the ps3 version of the Cell, but one of the 7 is reserved for the OS and not usable by developers, so really 6 SPE's) that are co-processors that each have individual functions. It's very different from, say, a dual-core, which is two separate processors on one chip. The PPE (Power Processing Element) in the Cell is what controls the functions of the SPE's and decides which one does what....
...and here's something that's gonna piss off a bunch of PC elitists: UC2 is more interesting to look at, has vastly superior animations and if anything like the fist UC, will be a far superior overall game.
That being said, this article wasn't UC2 vs. Crysis. If you want something that's truely real to life, racing games are about the only thing close at the moment, and that's only because it's hardware modeling, which is about 1000x easier to replicate. Nothing is even all ...
Guess I will be the first to say it, but I would much prefer they didn't make a MGS movie in the first place. Every game doesn't need a movie.
Any movie released, judging by past game>movies, has a 99% chance of being crap (100% so far, but there has to be a good one some day), and far more so than any other game made into a movie so far, MGS is far too good of a franchise to be tarnished that way.
ps. Also, if they have to make the movie, I don't see how they c...
@1.3 It's Zidane. I liked him alright, since he was the first non-self pity "main" character since FF6, although I don't think FFIX was quite as good as VII and VIII (close though).
The most likely thing to be a WoW killer will be either WoW2 or some kind of Starcraft MMO (or whatever the next MMO Blizzard is releasing). Not because WoW and other Blizzard MMOs are necessarily the best, but because they are now best known to people that will be looking for something after WoW, and it will seem like the safest bet.
Considering the title of the list is "Best Pre 3D Video games," I don't think some of those games should be on there. Most influential, sure, but Pong is not fun if played today, in my opinion. Again, I guess I just think they should have given the title of the list something different. My most fond memories of 2-D games would be 90% RPGs, with Mario, Sonic, Zelda (unless you want to count it as an RPG) and a few others being the exceptions.
If curious, I agree FF6 i...
Well, just because a weapon has been done before, doesn't mean it can't be done better in a different game. The shotgun was used in Doom, but I think it was used to better effect in countless other games, as an example.
As for greatest weapons, what about Mario's butt?!
@evrfighter
I've played ArmA 2 actually and really enjoy it, and yes the amount going on and the size of the game is almost assuredly not able to be replicated on any console (although MAG looks like it will have just as much going on, but probably not as big of maps or effects), however, if your comment was directed at me, I clearly stated I was referring to graphics, and ArmA 2 is not a graphical powerhouse by any means. Not to take anything away technically from it, but just ...
Well, in flip's defense, the bolt gun felt a lot better and looked a lot better doing it. ;)
The part that annoys me is that every time someone says PC hasn't outdone KZ2, UC2, GT5, etc. the only game people comment on is Crysis. Crysis is the best looking game available in terms of realism, but no other PC game reaches that level. Sure, resolution and AA on PC games is higher, but that does NOT mean they look better. Again, Crysis is the only game able to match up (and pass) to the console's best (although it has zero artistic value and is an average FPS apart from graphics).
It seems to work out well for any movie or video game company that allows for a casual environment.
For example, have you ever seen Pixar's workplace? It's extremely casual and looks like a very fun place to work.
By contrast, EA used to be cubicle central and ran like an office building, which is why their games and public perception became horrible. They started to be more lax on "regulations" and drifted more towards the casual side, and now they are s...
While not the best games in terms of gameplay (kind of random stuff to get stuck on at times), I would consider the Discworld series to be one of the funniest I've ever played, in terms of dialouge. I'm sure not many have played them, especially Disworld Noir which I think was only released in the UK (I imported a copy in US) and only for the PC, they were a lot of fun and of course very funny.
People are gonna disagree with you (and probably me), but I agree, until there is more shown on the game, I will say GT5 and FM3 will be better.
People tend to forget that a higher resolution and better physics doesn't automatically take the place of quality design, better artists, higher funfactor (debatable, as they are different types of games), more attention to detail, amount of game content, unique content, etc. (I know some aren't graphics related). If just throwing on ...
While I will get the PC version anyway, for various reasons, why would it make a big difference if it was on consoles? You can't mod MMOs 99% of the time with anything other than small add-ons, and patches work just as well on consoles as they do on computers. If you meant graphics, apparently you haven't seen the released gameplay footage, as it's clearly being made to work on more than just high end computers (not saying it's bad, but it's more stylized than high-tech, like WoW is). If y...
@1.27
Well, the old SNES (and NES) games were a little different, because the term Suggested Retail Price wasn't the same as it is now. Video games weren't extremely popular like they are now, and other than a few select stores (like Babbages (are they even still around?) and EB games), certain games wouldn't be available, guaranteed, anywhere else. So, the stores would hike up the price because they knew they could. I remember getting FFVI and IV, both, for about $50 each, be...
Three weeks before release is not that long, and most games go gold at least a month or two before. Also, almost all big games are reviewed about a 3 weeks to a month early, even if they haven't went "gold" yet. All that means is they are 100% complete and sending out the game to be copied for retail. The game itself is often finished well before that and given to reviewers so they can get a review out early. (Although sometimes they get a copy of the game that is different from...
Or maybe the creature is a female and...
Really, I could see part of the game being played with the creature and the boy both grown up and being able to fly around, with the creature's wings fully developed. Of course, that's one of a million possible outcomes (although I'm thinking about dismissing any ideas of my first suggestion).
If you are serious, I Strongly disagree. I have found Amazon to be by FAR the most reliable online place to shop and unless Gamestop or somewhere else has a good pre-order deal that Amazon doesn't, I get about everything related to video games and electronics in general from Amazon (not including imported stuff, of course). No tax, lower shipping, quality/arrival guarantees (not that I've ever got anything late from them). There is a reason they are the biggest online retailer.
Where in the world are you gonna get a used PC game, other than ebay where 90% of the time it's gonna be a copy where the code won't work. I don't buy used games, but still, I don't think the big ones, like gamestop, sell used PC games do they? I agree, the only "Activision" games I will be buying are the ones from Blizzard (Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2).
