That's kind of the problem with any Final Fantasy boss. It greatly depends on what level you are when you fight them. If you are max level, which you probably will be to kill bosses like Yazmat, Emerald/Ruby Weapon, some of the created mobs in FFX (although they aren't really bosses), etc., these guys aren't difficult, other than the fact you spend an enormous amount of extra time.
The thing is, some bosses are impossible without specific items, which doesn't really translate...
@1.2
Hmm, while some US boxart is better, many, many are not. MGS4 is a recent example. Almost all RPGs have nice artwork on the cover in Japan and EU, but the US version has a CGI picture montage (I'm mainly thinking of the FF series) which is usually absolutely horrible in comparison. They do this because they think the American audience responds better to seeing actual game footage (CGI from the game), and won't buy a game with some random person's artwork on the front, eve...
Ratchet and Clank Future: ToD > too much variety, 7.5
Uncharted > enemies are too hard, 8.0
LittleBigPlanet > too short and building a level can be time consuming (?!), 9.0
These aren't the only ones, and it's not just ps3 bias, they write stupid reviews for lots of games. I'm sorry, but you can't have 3 good reviews and one bad one and expect people to be okay with that. The site is not credible, because they are far too likely to screw up a ...
It may be easier for people to find it on the PC, and it is a great game.
While I personally would never spend money on Tinker Bell, cartoons, be they 2-D or 3-D do show off the quality of Blu-Ray more than live action movies. For example, Cars, Ratatouille, and The Simpsons Movie are three of the best looking Blu-Ray movies currently available.
Crysis looks more realistic in most aspects (except lighting), but many of the die-hard PC fanatics refuse to accept that that alone does not mean the game looks better.
I've played Crysis at the highest settings (only about 20fps, but still mostly playable), and yes, it looks amazing in most parts. However, the little outposts and buildings in the game look like crap, but you never hear anyone talk about that. Anyway, from the videos I've seen, KZ2 is more visually appealing t...
I don't know if there is a regular Deathmatch or not. However, there are multiple classes, so in an effort to create a balanced game, there may not be that mode of play.
Imagine Team Fortress 2 with a Free-for-all Deathmatch. Who would play the Medic if you can't heal anybody and all you could do was slice people or shoot them with syringes. Sure, you could get some kills, but you would be vastly outmatched by pretty much every other class.
That being said, I coul...
While that is true, regardless of what anyone says, some people's opinion in terms of reviews are worth less than others'.
Whoever wrote this is a moron who saw all the great reviews and decided to be the one person to bash the game so they could draw hits to their crappy site. They have done the same thing before.
The thing is, most of the movies mentioned here aren't scary either. Slasher movies are artificially scary just like games, in that the only time they are "scary" is the moments that make you jump, which is artificial because it's really just a surprise, not fear. Then you have movies like Friday the 13th which are just so horribly cheesy, even when they first came out, they have no way of being scary. Halloween was better, simply because the acting wasn't appalling.
68.4% of statistics are pulled out of thin air > fact!
Grading on a scale varying by .1 requires a little extra thought, and while some sites/mags grade on the .5 scale that are credible, Gamespot is no such thing and put so little effort into their reviews, the .5 system was the way to go.
8.0 for Uncharted is almost just as bad.
It's funny, because everyone knows they so desperately wanted to give MGS4 a lower score as well, but they figured if they give it a ten, it would absolve them of past fallacies and allow them to down-rank games from now on (LBP is one...read the review, they basically call it a novel experience as if it's nothing special), and if anyone says anything they will say "didn't you see the 10 we gave MGS4."
@7.2 I think that should just tell you how great this year has been for gaming, since while those games are great, they have no place in the top 5 this year, but would have any other year.
Maybe I'm just ready for a really good RPG this generation, but I would say White Knight Chronicles should be well ahead of many of the games they listed, considering what Level5 has promised from the game.
If it were Kung Fu Panda the movie, it would be a much better deal. ;) Although, I will probably buy it on Blu-ray.
Overall it's a good deal, in terms of getting GH3 for basically $50. Although, I laugh at Kotaku, as usual: "not only the biggest bundle deal we've ever seen, but potentially also the best value." Talk about blowing things out of proportion. I enjoy my 360, but I absolutely hate how Kotaku is so unashamedly a fanboy site.
I haven't played Fable 2 yet, but the first one is absolutely nothing like Oblivion/Fallout3. Well, I shouldn't say nothing like them, as they are all WRPGs. Fable is quirky, somewhat cartoony, funny and more action packed than Oblivion (don't know about Fallout3). It's also in 3rd person (although you can play in 1st person, it's not made for it, kind of like how Oblivion can be played in 3rd person, but it's made for 1st person).
Anyway, if I were you, I would watch some ga...
When I read this, my mind was reading something other than what was written. so...
"I may be going out on a limb here considering I haven't played Little Big Planet, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Dead Space, Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance 2, Gears of War 2 and countless other titles, but I don't care. After playing through the world of Fable II and considering the impression it made on me, I can say, without a doubt, that Fable II is MY 2008 game of the year."

Hmm, did you not notice this article is from Kotaku? Since when did that become "news?" ;)
Yeah, Squall "pouted" a lot and got annoying at times. He can definately be called an emo character. (I'm not sure I would call Cloud an emo character, considering his personality was actually pretty upbeat, and not like he had just ate a pale full of low-protein gruel...think the Simpsons where they join the Leader cult) Squall and Cloud, however, were actually good characters, unlike 90% of the other ones listed in the article.
Culex was pretty tough, and he's an imaginary Final Fantasy boss. ;) (He was the optional boss in Super Mario RPG and had almost 4x the hp of the final boss)
Also, Nemesis can be added to the list from FFX, if you want to count him as a boss.
Really though, the "hardest" Final Fantasy as a game for me was Final Fantasy Tactics. Sure, if you level up your characters too much, the game is jokingly easy, such as completing the whole game playing as just Ramza...
