Would love to see a new ES, but I seriously hope they can the horrible leveling system. Take a lesson from a lot of the modders, or just use the one from Fallout.
"even though the article was kinda going for humor i wouldn't consider anything about any of those games to be truly bad."
Have you not seen or played Deadly Premonition? If a game has ever been "truly bad," that would be it. There are quite a few parts that are so bad that they are "charming" and funny, almost making it worth the $20. There is nothing, however, that is actually well done in the game. Gameplay, graphics, story, voice-acti...
Maybe not as good as of late, but you will find millions of people that find either FFVIII, IX, X or Tactics even better than 7. I'm one of them, I like FFT better than 7, and 7-10 all about equal, with 6 being my favorite. Not really important though, because those were all Squaresoft, and they are no more, and they like to remind us of that every time they release a new game, or make a new announcement (especially Wada).
"All we have to do is keep him from going to the right, that's it!"
In simple economics: Supply and Demand.
Considering at least 2 of those games are ones more than a handful of people have ever heard of, I don't think they qualify for the list. I've played three of those (never played Little Red Hood), and assuming you mean Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1, I don't think that belongs anywhere near this list, because it was actually pretty good (at least compared to these), just really difficult. Also, having played quite a few of the games on this list, they are much worse than the one...
Yeah, I think I played about 1/2 of these. Have to say, I didn't know there was a MUSCLE game. Heh, it's based on the Muscle Men little rubber/plastic toys. I know, because I recognize the cyclops guy on the cover (used to have a ton of them).
Anyway, to be fair, this list couldn't have been hard to make. All you had to do is take a random sampling of 30-40 NES games, and you are bound to find 20 worth writing a "God, how awful they were" article abo...
I have got bad news for you: if you seriously think 5 million $150 Natal machines are going to be sold in three months or so (if end of October release date is true), you are way overestimating.
This isn't Halo, and it's 3x the price of a game. No matter how many people are able to use it, it's still too much for a lot of people to spend at once. I don't doubt that it will sell well, but I would consider reaching 1-2 mil before the end of the year to be good...
Sega CD was also the original home of two of the better RPGs ever made, Lunar 1 and 2. It also had some other really good RPGs (or SRPGs), like Vay and Dark Wizard.
The 32X, on the other hand, had MAYBE one or two good games, and I'm not sure it had any "great" games. Of course, there weren't many games released for it in the first place, especially once the Saturn was released, which was superior in every way. The thing also claimed to be the first 32-b...
@Comet
No big deal, but just fyi, the cutscenes in FFXIII on the ps3 were 1080p, not 720p.
The casting will all depend on how big the production for the movie is. If it ends up being a middle-of-the road sized budget, they won't be able to get the really big actors, like Dicaprio, anyway. Also, Jack would be a semi-minor character in the game, and there is no way Natalie Portman is gonna be cast as that.
The bigger thing is, Portman (and DiCaprio, Denzel, etc.) will not sign on if the movie script sucks. While I would hope differently, there is ZERO reason...
I'm guessing a lot of people commenting on the game haven't played it, saying it's good, but not great, which is an easy way to not sound like a hater, but not give the game the credit it deserves.
I haven't played it, so I will not comment. However, it's on it's way from Amazon and will be here Thursday. If it's as good or better than the first one, it most definitely deserves the scores it's getting. There's one thing naysayers forge...
The Wii has some amazing games (SMG, SMG2, Zelda TP, NSMBW, etc.), and I'm gonna get SMG2 in a few days. However, I'm not sure the "trash talking" the system gets is completely unfounded. Yes, it has some really good games, but they don't come in large quantities like the other systems (ps3, 360, DS, PC and to a lesser extent, PSP). That being said though, the great games that do come out, like SMG2, are more than enough to make the Wii worth owning, just pick and cho...
Well, she didn't really have any special animations, just the animations of a running woman. Also, it's possible that a donkey is modeled so the face part on the woman is separate from the donkey's body (maybe for morph animations that differ from a horse, while the body animations are replicates of a horse's). This would make it so only part of the woman is a donkey.
The flying deer and cougar man are simply bugs of model swaps that shouldn't be there. ...
Just as an FYI for the future (and quite handy thing to use), you can type in, in this case, 18000 yen in Google and it will tell you how much it is transferred to $ at the top of the results.
@Eamon
So he gets off the island?! Damn, you ruined it for me!
Shorter? Did you ever play games on the NES and SNES (Genesis, etc.)? The vast majority of non-RPGs could be beaten in about a couple of hours. The games are easier in some respects. However, there are plenty of difficult games released now that are just as hard, or more so, than those in the past.
I'm not trying to say games shouldn't sell for less, as they should, since most games sell more than they did in the past. However, games cost far more to make now t...
The difference is there, but it is not big. However, you can't dismiss the guys from Beyond3D as if they are just some random person with no idea as to what they are doing. They are the same people that discovered the resolutions of many games in the past (probably most famous for Halo 3). Your eye may not be able to tell the difference, but that's because the 640p and 720p are not a big enough difference to notice a major variance, especially while the game is in motion (ie., whil...
The problem is that they apparently don't realize there is a massive difference between a "macho character" and an "effeminate emo that you can't tell is a boy or girl till they talk." There is such a thing as a middle of the road character.
The shows are completely different, and BatB has pretty much every character in the DC universe, unlike TAS. BatB is supposed to take itself less serious, as TAS was extremely gritty and serious. Anyway, saying it looks horrible compared to AA is kind of silly, being as this is a DS game and will have much much less money put into it.
I have no intention of buying this either, but just trying to put into perspective that it's not trying to compete with AA or be extremel...
