Wrong, Andrew House stated that Sony's 1st party releases would be a little sparse in 2015, not that they didn't have surprise games releasing later this year.
So far there's only Tearaway Unfolded and Kill Strain as 1st party releases slated for 2015, that's less than "a little sparse".
He also said in the same interview that 2015 is the beginning of a harvest period from 1st party.
Fergal Gara also said that Sony aren't...
It's crazy too me how many people have reading comprehension issues!
Seriously people like you consider Sony's internal output of games to be basically non-existent, yet Andrew House's comment on "1st party releases a little sparse in 2015" is somehow means "Sony has no more exclusives for 2015".
Logically Sony would have to have more 1st party exclusives incoming later this year to get to the point of PS4's 1st party libra...
Technically what Andrew House said was "1st party is a little sparse in 2015", as far as exclusive 1st party developed games goes all we know that's coming in 2015 is Tearaway Unfolded and Kill Strain, unless House meant to include games co-developed with external studios like Bloodborne, The Order and Fat Princess what we know about is far from "a little sparse".
Even including co-developed games it's still not exactly "a little sparse" for Sony&...
Yep, I mean considering the last major 1st party release on XBox One was Forza 5 (unless you consider Kinect Sports Rivals major) anyone bashing Sony because their 1st party output is lighter this year compared to at some other times is just plain ignorant.
"A little sparse" doesn't really fit with 2 games being everything Sony has, because Tearaway Unfolded and Kill Strain are the only, lone 1st party developed exclusives coming this year.
Even if Andre...
Anything new of Uncharted 4 will be awesome!
Sony Bend (SF developers) have been working on a new IP since like 2011/2012, open world Survival Horror, set in a futuristic style setting, with similar gameplay to The Last of Us apparently, so if Syphon Filter got a reboot it probably wouldn't be from them.
Guerrilla Games has also been working on another new IP since 2010, there's is said to be set in a post apocalyptic world, where humans live as tribe...
@jeremyj2913: I mistyped, I meant to write that a new Playstation All Stars, with a similar style of play to Power Stone could be announced and that it and something of a spiritual successor to Starhawk/Warhawk could be released this Fall.
A PS All Stars reboot has been rumored to have that kind of gameplay, from Verrendus on Neogaf a while back (2013).
I know what you mean though, think I only had the 1st Power Stone for my Dreamcast, but it was awesome! So ...
Japan studio hasn't released an internally developed exclusive since Knack or Puppeteer, both were great IMO, personally I hope they make an announcement at E3, be it a new Knack, Puppeteer for PS4 or a new IP.
There's so much scope for what can be done with Knack, personally I loved the 1st game and would love a sequel.
The guys that made Starhawk (SCE Santa Monica and Lightbox) haven't done anything since that game came out in 2012, by many accounts it w...
Facts are Andrew House stated "1st party coming in 2015" is a little sparse, so far Sony's only known to have about 2 or 3 1st party exclusives in 2015, the other AAA titles are 2nd or 3rd party, other exclusives are independent developed, but Sony funded.
He also said that 2015 is a period of harvest for Sony's 1st party, this basically goes in line with Fergal Gara's comments about Sony not being concerned about PS4's Fall line-up, because they have unannou...
@TheCommentator: No I'm not missing a thing, XB1's memory isn't the unification of DDR3 and eSRAM, so it is absolutely an either or situation.
DDR3 can't use eSRAM's bandwidth and eSRAM can't use DDR3's greater storage capacity.
DDR3 is slow and eSRAM is small, once the bandwidth of DDR3 is tapped out there's no more and once eSRAM is filled up it's just like blocking a small hose pipe, that fast'ish flow of data slows to a halt of not s...
Yep it really does suck, the overall design if the game will definitely be far more limited, because of having to take 7th gen into consideration.
It should hopefully be a bit shinier like the definitive edition of the 2013 game, maybe some added physical effects on the XB1 version of the game, but it'll be held back for sure.
Me too, not sure why anyone would disagree with Dark and Relient's comments, so far it is all talk, there's been no visual proof of it.
I know for a fact that any tasks that need to be rendered in within tiny millisecond intervals can't be handled by cloud networks, they just can't react quick enough.
Any baked in elements of a scene is fine, allowing those to be rendered by the cloud would in itself be awesome and you could basically have rea...
@TheCommentator: GDDR5 is faster than eSRAM, it's 172GB/s real world vs 140-150GB/s.
So no GPU access isn't faster in Xbox One, it's substantially fast in PS4.
8GBs is also 256X bigger for storage than the 32MBs XB1 has for it's fast pool, this drastically reduces how much data can be stored in that area of memory.
A command processor is an ACE, it's the same thing, PS4 has 8 of them, each one has 8 compute queues.
Data Mov...
@shloobmm3: Nothing I stated was nonsense, it's all fact and anyone that knows about the software knows this is objectively true.
Your understanding of this topic is flawed, for one thing XB1's version of DX11 has already been confirmed to be pretty low level, but it's not the overhead that is an issue, it's how the CPU cores talk to the GPU.
The major difference is that DX11 talks one core to the GPU at a time, same goes for older version of ...
DX12 will no doubt make a difference to XB1, but it's not going to be this huge difference of a gap like between Halo 3 and Halo 4 happening between the last exclusives on the platform and Halo 5 or FM6 releasing.
What people don't seem to realize is that games are already tailored to XB1 and the current API also already features many of the DX12 features.
Obviously some new ones will come when that update releases.
The difference isn't go...
Shinobi602 has said Sony has demoed 2 unannounced Sony games behind closed doors.
Guerrilla Games and SCE Bend's new IP are both rumored for E3 so it could be them, if both of those are shown that's the win IMO, because they'd have to be in a solid, real time state at this point (one is 4 years into development, the other 5).
I think TLG is an October release because it's the 10th anniversary of SoTC and there's plenty of time since it apparently m...
It's been known for some time that Guerrilla Games has a huge new IP in development, since 2010, so it's probably well polished by now.
Naughty Dog will obviously show off more Uncharted 4 footage.
Ratchet & Clank is yet to have gameplay unveiled, that and U4 should be very promising for early 2016.
SFV probably has more characters to show off at E3, that's also Spring.
Sony Bend also has a new Ip in development, some huge OW horror game, they...
It's a thing you can buy for some laptops.
A proprietary fast data port is built into a laptop and you run a cable to a box, which you can plug a Graphics Card into.
It could be an option for future machines and something some gamers may be interested in.
Nah Until Dawn is the next big PS4 game (AAA and decent Hollywood Cast), although tearaway and fat princess are getting physical releases this summer so it could be alongside any of those that it happens.
As for GT7 not releasing for ages, I doubt that very much, for one thing the game has been in development alongside GT6 for some time, the new assets were always made with future games in mind and PD built their engine for PS4.
Kaz has already said GT7 will be a game...
Until Dawn has a pretty big cast of voice actors, from major series or films, like Hayden Panettiere (Heroes, Nashville), Rami Malek (Need for Speed, Breaking Dawn (he was Benjamin, the guy that manipulates the elements), all of the Night at the Museum movies and 24), Brett Dalton (Agents of Shield).
If that's not big for a game then I don't know what is!
Until Dawn is apparently slated for release in June some time, but it may be a little later in summer.
@S2Killinit: So true, I mean Microsoft hasn't released a 1st party exclusive since Kinect Sports Rivals released in April 2014, that's 18 months ago with nothing new from 1st party.
No exclusives have released at all on the system since October and Sony are somehow in a much worse state, when they release two entirely brand new IPs, AAA exclusives, one of which is the highest rated game on either platform so far this generation.
People love to spin th...
