Dude it's not even close, that's not even a likely prospect at this point.
The sheer number of exclusives in the AAA space on PS4 is much bigger than what XB1.
It's 2 games this year, to about 6, maybe more on PS4 and then there's the smaller AA stuff or indies, which basically make up a huge library of content that will only make things go more in PS4's favor later this year.
The AAA PS4 exclusive games all seem to target a differ...
@Kuirisu: Yeah Hellblade looks very interesting.
Ninja Theory are an awesome studio.
I personally really want new info, footage and release dates for WiLD and Rime, both look utterly phenomenal!
I can see the kind of supposedly smaller titles PS4 getting appealing to a huge range of new gamers coming into the 8th gen.
Those, among the other exclusives either coming, or already on the system, coupled together with the big 3rd party stuff alread...
They're not really under that much pressure, considering they've already had great success with Bloodborne, pretty much all of their 1st party studios and a host of external teams are working on new AAA PS4 exclusives.
According to Shinobi602 they're not going 3rd party heavy at E3, quite a few 1st party studios are ready to show what they've been up to.
We know Sony aren't averse to announce a game a mere few months from release.
...
@Sinncross: If Guerrilla can bring that Concept art to life (I have faith they can), have that same kind of art style, in a world like that I will lose by S***.
@b163o1: I agree, GG definitely delivers.
I imagine the use of mecha dinos could include either defeating them for the materials they're made of, to trade with various tribes and so on.
Maybe even capturing some to ride or just generally taking them on to level up and save neighboring villages/cam...
A collection could be handled by a small part of the studio.
I'm pretty sure it was stated that it was all hands on deck before The Last of Us remastered got announced, but some of Naughty Dog's staff worked on that.
Maybe a combined effort of some of ND working with outside sources to remaster the collection.
I hope that if it's a real thing that the games are brought up to par with something like TLOU.
ND will have all of the new assets t...
It'll either be e3 or one of the other conferences later this year.
Me too, the whole premise of the game should make for a really good movie.
This movie should help to expand the franchise's audience, helping the game sell even better too.
If this is one of Sony's Holiday/Fall 2015 games that should definitely sell some systems for Sony.
@Azzanation: That's a common misconception, actually at the clock speeds of XB1 and PS4 both DDR3 and GDDR5 have comparable Latency, so GDDR5 is perfectly fine.
The very fact that GDDR5 can both read and write at the same time makes GDDR5 superior because the OS doesn't have to wait to make a choice on whether to read or write, because it can do both to GDDR5.
@AndrewLB: The comparison was between XB1 and PS4, not PC.
That makes your point moo...
GDDR5 in PS4 runs at 172G/s real world, DDR3 in XB1 runs at 55GB/s.
Size they're the same, but speed wise GDDR3 runs at over 3X the speed, there's also the benefit of GDDR5 being able to handle read and write simultaneously, making it a lot more flexible than DDR3.
8GBs of GDDR5 would actually equal way more than 16GBs of DDR3.
8GBs in both consoles should be sufficient for size purposes though, it's the speed and flexibility of use that...
Jason Gregory at Naughty Dog confirmed that 5GBs of memory is available for games (at least it was Feb 2014, that may have increased by now).
So PS4 has about the same XB1.
Another thing that you have to bare in mind is that GDDR5 is like 3X faster than DDR3 and it's capable of simultaneous read and write in all cycles, DDR3 can only do one or the other in each cycle.
Given that Windows only uses about 2GBs of RAM neither of these consoles should ...
@mikeslemonade: There really aren't any pure platformers anymore, they all tend to add other things in, besides just jumping from level to level.
Platforming too easy? Platforming was never really difficult in pretty much all platform games, it's about the fun, which Ratchet & Clank has in droves.
R&C is just as challenging as the next game, it's an awesomely fun series!
A new Crash and Spyro would be cool, but Sony would have to either buy back those franchises or pay to use the IPs.
They may have just the right amount of sway with their 3rd party dominance and awesome sales of Destiny to get Activision to agree to something.
On a side not, I'm so happy Ratchet & Clank is coming back this year.
That should help satiate my Platformer needs when it finally drops later this year.
@moldybread (LOL):The problem is being able to make money off of the server network.
You build the server network and it's paid for by a subscription based business model, which means probably costs $30 a month, maybe with some initial outlay of $99 for the box, but people expect to get software included in that, so there's no extra income, besides new users.
The physical console is sold for $400, then you buy games on top of that, you're making m...
The cloud won't take over!
Best case it becomes a part of the whole thing of gaming.
With consoles companies know they make a box, it works locally for you, you don't have issues if you can't gain access to your broadband and you pay your money on day one, plus buy the games you want.
With the cloud there's huge investment in servers to provide the processing power, maybe a few billion dollars to make sure you have enough processing to...
I agree here, WiLD was amazing too see, but if they're just going to make announcements via releasing info to the press and making new trailers to upload to Youtube and elsewhere it's fine.
As much as I loved E3 last year, it could have been handled through adverts released to the media.
I don't know about it taking that long for Sucker Punch's next game to come out, Infamous 2 only took 2 years after the 1st one released and it's already been over a year since Second Son released.
Sucker Punch's next game could be out next year.
To the naysayers, GT7 coming this year just makes logical sense!
PD didn't wait until GT6 was finished to start work on GT7, they built their engine from the beginning to run on PS4, their artists made their new assets well beyond what PS3 could handle right from the beginning of making GT6, so it's just a matter of making some more post GT6 release to add new content too the game, designing new menus, going whole hog on the shaders and other new rendering techniques ...
Sony did pretty much everything right that they could have, the whole nonsense about acting like the competition has better exclusives is a bit silly, it's not a fact, highly subjective.
Sony have established with years of 1st party support and their recent comments that they have huge plans for 1st party.
Kaz wants to drive the install base as high and hard as it can go, which means having the big exclusives, awesome indies you can't get anywhere else and bei...
It's the 20th anniversary of the series in 2018, so the full GT7 will most likely be out this year, because Polyphony Digital will want as much time as possible.
They always do 2 GT main releases per generation, having GT7 out this year spaces the game out nicely over the generation.
People won't have long to wait!
Expect to either see GT7 officially unveiled next month or at E3, with a 2015 release date given.
Kaz has even said that 2...
@lelo2play:
In what world does MS have a stronger line-up of exclusives later this year?
They have 2 major exclusives, that's it, Forza and Halo.
Sony has Tearaway Unfolded, Until Dawn, Fat Princess Adventures, Deep Down, Let it Die and Kill Strain.
Then there are the games like Rime, WiLD, Alienation, The Tomorrow Children, Shadow of the Beast, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Drawn 2 Death. Just because the latter stuff is indie that...
