Donald Yatomi is the Lead Artist on Bend's New IP apparently, he's been working at Sony America in Bend for 3 years and 6 months:

I'm not sure where the writer of this article or anyone else gets the idea that this isn't coming out until Q4 2016, I mean Guerrilla's last 2 games both released only 9 months after they were announced.

Considering how good it's already running it's at least likely to be releasing in the 1st half of 2016, otherwise Sony and Guerrilla wouldn't have bothered announcing it until PSX.

Shinobi602 has been bang on about the details surround...

IMO you only have to look at Sony's E3 and TGS to gauge the level of potential Paris and PSX could have this year.

At E3 Sony brought 3 entirely new AAA IPs, Horizon, Dreams and RIGS, along with bringing The Last Guardian back out of the shadows.
At TGS there was Gravity Rush 2, Ni-Oh (a game that was basically vaporware for years), Yakuza 6 and King of Fighters 14.

We already know that Media Molecule will be doing a big showing for Dreams, but th...

@Miyamoto: Accept Horizon Zero Dawn isn't what you would call a casual game in the slightest.
Calling this game casual is like calling the Witcher 3, Bloodborne or Phantom Pain a casual game.

A lot of be required of the player to make sure you've got the require equipment for when you stuff up a mission like in the trailer and have to take on a massive armor plated beast like the Thunder Jaw.

There's probably a lot more dangerous creatures...

With NX Nintendo basically has to tackle things on 3 fronts.
IMO the most important thing is for them to begin making exclusives that are targeted towards a wide variety of the market, particularly the 3rd party audience, because this will get 3rd party publishers interested in making their games for Nintendo's system again.

As an aside to this their API and tools for developers needs to be well fleshed out, so with Nintendo being involved with Vulkan that could b...

Horizon: Zero Dawn looks utterly amazing, one of those games that will probably provide hundreds of hours of fun just exploring the environment.

There's also WiLD, which will give you a game world the size of Europe and a massive volume of different creatures to play around with.
Rime, plus tonnes more other games either on the system already (mainly 3rd party, but also a bunch of good exclusives).

In all honesty PS4 is the only system I need righ...

A certain group of people love to ignore that PS4 is the place where most console gamers want to play 3rd party, they ignore that those games exist anywhere else besides on their chosen system and that the majority prefers to play them on PS4 over XB1, TBH to PS4 owners or owners to be 3rd party titles may as well be exclusives, because they're not entertaining the XB1 or anywhere else as a possibility for where they want to play those games.

They can't accept that PS...

@Moldy: We can only guess right now, though Media Molecule have always included a core game in their titles, LBP 1 & 2, Tearaway on Vita and Unfolded on PS4 all had a game, so IMO it will very likely have a core adventure made by Media Molecule, that anyone can play through.

I can see MM making a universe of Dream Spaces, you get given a Mascot to travel through them, collecting new Characters, set-pieces and through that learn how to use the tools of the game.

It's certainly a lot to take in.
The way I think about it is like an all encompassing digital creation platform, though that doesn't seem to really do it justice.

The potential for this is massively mind blowing!
I'm hoping that Media Molecule launches the title with a core game, like an adventure experience, with a new mascot like Sackboy in LBP, Iota and Atoi in Tearaway/Unfoled, but maybe you have to travel through a universe of Dreams to collec...

Well said, have a bubble!

I can't wait to see what comes out of this. I think there has to be a core game in there, that Media Molecule are making to show people how it's done, I think that will be what part of what they show at Paris, I think Alex Evans said something about a character, but he quickly led the talk away from that.
For a game like this I would imagine that the Studio could have made a bunch of different characters to choose, to play through the...

That was a really nice surprise from Media Molecule.

It seems like so much more than just a game, I mean it's like a complete digital creation platform, which really excites me.
Even for those that aren't creative types the amount of content that this kind of a thing can bring to gamers and people looking to be entertained through digital media is going to blow people away, I'm sure of that!

I wonder whether they'll show the creative a...

ND are large enough to be making 3 big projects, Media Molecule are making an entirely new Digital Creation platform called Dreams, which also features a game at it's core and they made Tearaway Unfolded, that's with a team of less than 50 people, Naughty Dog has over 250 staff.

Hell Guerrilla Games incorporates their Amsterdam and Cambridge Studios, both turned out Killzone: Shadow Fall and Mercenary by the end of 2013, they then went on to make Horizon and RIGs, bot...

1. Evolution while smaller than they used to be are still not the smallest studio SCE has and the DLC was always planned to come post launch, just like any modern game does, hell even MS and Nintendo do this, hell Turn 10 are one of the worst culprits proven by Forza 5 having less content considerably compared to past FM games.

2. Wrong, DC features full weather, which fully effects the surface of tracks, it's a full on simulation generated dynamically. Creating snow, ice...

Excellent point!
Some fool who decided for his career to be based in an industry based around people risking themselves every day they film not using protection, potentially getting any and all STDs a Human being can because if they decide to use protection, they won't get the job.

The only similarities between the two are that both have a female lead, both use a Bow and both games have adventure style game mechanics, that's where the similarities end.

IMO Horizon is a grander prospect, being that it's a huge open world title, with the epic far off future setting, with multiple different types of animal like machine species to discover and a very mysterious story to discover in depth.

The world will undoubtedly be far larger and...

Sony definitely has the new IPs in the works, the games are coming for sure, many exclusives, lots of awesome new 3rd party games, indies and things that are partial exclusive to drive the volume of quality titles up, so that's what really matters.
That is what's mainly going to drive the sales.

Clearly the community is buying the system because they like and the games on the platform.

I think it's on pace right now to do bigger numbers th...

So true and even though I have it on the Vita I found the gyro mechanic off putting on the Vita, so I'll be getting it again for the PS4 when it releases.

The fact the screen moves around and you have to focus a lot on a specific point on the Vita I didn't find the Vita game as enjoyable as I think the PS4 version will be.

The remaster looks a lot better IMO.

Seems very likely, hell even some western games are getting a fair bit of interest in Japan, like Horizon and Uncharted 4, the adventure aspect of those titles seems to speak to the market really well.

Obviously it helps even more that there's a lot of major Japanese focused releases, but with other kinds of games also being highly accessible to the market it can only be positive.
Someone has to do something to get console gaming back in the east, Sony and their p...

If Microsoft doesn't bother to try and work for the sales of a market they're never going to gain a presence there.

They need to bring the exclusives for XB1 and TBH that's really not happening much, even in the west.
I guess they're trying a lot harder for next year, but they're just going to get even more overshadowed by PS4 next year, whether it's in the east or the west, north or south, anywhere around the globe is going to be PS4's dom...

Well said, have a bubble.

PS4 had 4 new exclusives announced at TGS, 3 at E3 with TLG also getting revealed for PS4.
Sony are well and truly knocking it out of the park, they have about 13 AAA games that are coming at some point in the not too distant future, at least 10 have been confirmed as 2016 releases.

There's also a tonne of smaller games, but contrary to what many haters of PS4 have said there are way more AAA's incoming than indies as...
