Naughty Dog already have over 300 people working at the studio, From Software were developing Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 at the same time with around 230 people.
Guerrilla Games have been making Horizon with 150 people for the last 2 and a half years.

Point being Naughty Dog could easily be developing both a sequel to The Last of Us and a new IP at the same time, keeping the level of quality they're known for.

I think Shadow of The Beast is slated for May 17th 2016 now too, so Ratchet and Alienation next month, Uncharted 4 and Shadow of The Beast May.

Phenomenal months.
All of these games look gorgeous and like they're going to be a hell of a lot of fun to play.

If there's a market for consoles then they'll exist, it's that simple.
We're hardly at a point where we've peaked graphically.

TBH though consoles have always been around, ever since the inception of video games being played in people's homes.
I can understand the argument over handhelds getting replaced by mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, but there much larger form factor of a console affords the ability to be able to run m...

I think Dreams is my favorite out of all of these, but honestly they all have had my attention since they were announced.

Gotta add Rime to the list to.
Fortunately they're all on PS4, so if you have the system play whichever ones tickle your fancy.

@AndrewLB:

Who said anything about using the CPU cores to do everything PS3 does? LOL, I certainly didn't!

I said the PowerPC threads should be emulated by the AMD Jaguar Cores (PS4's CPU), because this clearly works for XB1's 360 Emulator.
Both 7th gen consoles share the same IBM PowerPC tech, 360 just has 3 Cores, where PS3 has 1, their 8th gen successors both share AMD Jaguar Cores.

PS3's Synergistic Processing Unit...

I think he means that you can't make this run on a PC with similar levels of processing performance to PS3.

Only if you tried to emulate all of Cell with the 8 Core AMD Jaguar in PS4.
The SPUs in PS3 are more like shaders, than proper CPU cores.

The GPU in this video is weaker than what's in PS4, by a pretty wide margin, it's pretty close to an r7 260X, which has 14 compute units, to PS4's 18.

If Sony or a partner developer was to emulate the PS3's dual threaded PPC unit on a few AMD Jaguar Cores in PS4, while letting PS4's GPU emulate t...

@Riseer: Well the rumors are saying this is a handheld, with performance most comparable to XB1. If it's true then that's actually a pretty awesome idea!

Obviously it would be better if it matched PS4, but using AMD's Polaris GPU architecture a scaled down part would only need around 20 watts to nigh on match XB1.
Really a Nintendo system releasing now, having loads more power than PS4, even if it uses the same kind of architecture isn't going to get u...

@Ck1x: I really don't get why anyone would disagree with what I wrote, it's all verifiable fact.

The Polaris GPU in the AMD demo is only using 40 watts, yet it's a match for their R9 270x in spec.
R9 270x is the closest competitor to the GTX 950 that AMD used to compare Polaris to.

At 1024Mhz an R9 270X produces 2.616TFlops, so using that as a metric and the fact that the Polaris chip in the demo build used 40 watts (taking away all other ...

Seems very likely and TBH if NX is this gaming handheld that can at least match XB1 for performance, but allow people to take their games on the move then it could be a really big selling point for Nintendo IMO.

The tech is there to allow for what the recent rumors suggested, looking at AMD's Polaris GPU tech it's efficient enough for a laptop level battery to power a GPU on par with XB1's or Nintendo could put part of the performance in the tablet and part in a h...

You could always tweet the various higher ups on their Twitters, like Shuhei Yoshida, Andrew House, Shawn Layden, etc.

MS may as well just go all in on putting their XBox One exclusives and any past XBox exclusives on Windows.

They should just treat XBox consoles as a device to access Windows games for people that aren't aware or interested in PC gaming.

Going the "service" route for Forza makes sense, because it can allow Microsoft to make more money off of chunks of the game, rather than just bundling everything together.

I really don't get why anyone would disagree with what I posted earlier, it's all fact, especially Nintendo needing to get 3rd party back on board.
I mean the purpose of a business is to make money and as a console manufacturer if your core audience is shrinking (which is a fact for Nintendo), then you should branch out in the kind of games you can get on the platform.

Nintendo making games that appeal to the western 3rd party audience doesn't prevent them...

Nintendo absolutely needs to get 3rd party back on board,IMO the way they can do that is by removing the boundaries between their handheld and console customers, along with actually making games that appeal to the same audience that buys 3rd party titles.

Identical processing architecture to the competition, a known API (like Vulkan) and easy to use development tools, with good development support to the development community and Nintendo would be set.

It mak...

Essentially every area important to the main audience that's interested was ignored by Microsoft, but on the other hand Sony basically catered to all of those requirements.

People in the Xbox fanboy camp love to insist that XBox One has more AAA exclusives, but it's painfully evident that isn't the case, PS4 has more, almost 2X as many before Sony has really gotten into their stride.

Despite claims that PS4's only has been worse, it's actu...

Agent never got officially canceled, given Rockstar's long development times it wouldn't be unbelievable that it's been in the works all of this time.

Maybe Take-Two will have a huge press conference showing off a bunch of new games they'll announce at the event or around that time.
I'd love to know what is happening with Agent, maybe a new Read Dead or some other new IPs.
Perhaps there will be a new Borderlands made only for current gen co...

In every area of the craft, they are one of those studios that pushes video game design forward.

If it wasn't for games like Dark Souls 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian and Final Fantasy 15 (to name a few) coming out this year I'd say this was an absolute shoe in for GOTY.

I'm so thankful I own the platform that has all of those wonderful titles coming to it!

Halo 5 had to dip the resolution down to 1154X810 to maintain a fairly stable 60FPS (even though it wasn't locked at all times).

That game still required enemy AI to update at 30FPS and it also had some glaring texture streaming problems, with visuals that weren't much better than Halo 4's were.
Maybe the more corridor based nature of the setting, smaller enemy counts and short draw distances will allow The Coalition to push the visuals harder and get the ...

I'm pretty sure it was stated that the Last Guardian was rebuilt from the ground up for the PS4, but most likely the world design/levels, a lot of the gameplay systems and assets were made in base form for PS3, still it's had a good 3-4 years of solid development on PS4.

The main reason it wasn't shown until E3 last year was because Sony wanted to make sure they'd hit it's release window.

As for Horizon, Guerrilla stated back in late 2010 ...

Wii U came in 2012, NX is almost certainly a 2016 release, so that's 4 years if NX is a new console.

I say almost certainly because Nintendo are apparently intending to make revenue off of the system in the next fiscal year. It's doubtful they'd want to miss 2016 holiday sales and fiscal year coming means before the end of March 2017.

As for the system, if it's an OS that runs on both a handheld and a console, which all play the same games, th...
