It's possible with AMD's Zen and Polaris that Nintendo could release a gaming tablet, with PS4's level of hardware, if they use a battery comparable to a notebook in the device.

The AMD demo version of Polaris had a 20CU GPU, clocked at around 1GHz and it only used about 40 watts, that's 14nm, considered development for you.
A 20CU version of Polaris, clocked at 800MHz would only use 30 watts and it would be a 1.962TFlop GPU.

A 28...

Nintendo are handling their platforms in the worst possible way they could right now.
Hardly any new games are coming to Wii U this year and Nintendo have been dead quiet about what's happening with that system.
3DS news is also thin on the ground.

I mean they announce a new platform at a god damned investors meeting last year, that isn't even coming until early 2017, then give no details about the system, just enough information to appease their i...

Indeed, hopefully Sony Bend finally shows off their new IP, rumored to be called Dead Don't Ride (awesome name for a game IMO). Hopefully it will be their true coming home party, back to consoles.

The potential for Sony's event is massive.
Same goes for Nintendo, with NX hopefully getting a big blowout and the fruits of Nintendo's studio unification will begin to be seen.

God knows what fresh, new games Microsoft would be able to brin...

Best looking game on current generation consoles for sure and it looks so much fun with each section of gameplay shown so far.

Nice to see a game actually looking better than the original reveal trailer.
Naughty Dog have far outstripped the visuals of that E3 2014 trailer, made seemingly enormous open levels, with dynamic physics which add to the gameplay experience.

Can't wait to get my hands on this gem.

I think this likely means games like Smash or Mario Kart won't require separate development on either handheld or console, but rather a single game developed, then scaled up and down between both platforms.
We're getting to a point where assets can easily be incorporated into multiple games and that would allow for vaster output compared to what Nintendo could do in the past.

As an example where 3DS and Wii U would both get their own versions of Smash, MK, ...

Maybe, but Nintendo has to first entice 3rd party developers back to Nintendo platforms and the big publishers aren't likely to put their major new IPs on a Nintendo console, especially when they can release those games on PS4, XB1 and PC and be guaranteed a better chance of actually selling those games there.

Nintendo are perfectly capable of creating great gameplay experiences, what they lack is the settings and art style to appeal to a western 3rd party audience, at ...

Nintendo need new games targeted at the western 3rd party audience, since that is where most of the current console buying audience is. This has to mean new IPs.

This doesn't mean they can't make the franchises that they're famous for, in fact it may open the doors to more people buying those games, but without expanding the potential audience, then sales will stagnate or decline.
Trying the same thing over and over, while expecting change is madness. ...

For those not wishing to click on the link here's the 5 announcements the article states should be at Sony's E3 for them to win:

1. Full on Backwards Compatibility, 2. No Man’s Sky VR confirmed and will be a launch title, 3. Crash Bandicoot Returns, 4. God of War 4 Announced with a Gameplay Trailer, 5. Red Dead Redemption 2 Timed Exclusive on PS4.

@Leahjo: I never asked for the game to look finished visually, talk about a red herring LMFAO.

I didn't contradict myself at all, I said a game in beta doesn't look great at all.

At the beta stage of development we should be seeing a solid representation of what the final project will look and play like, this looks terrible for a beta.
I notice how all of these people disagreeing with my comments are focusing on the graphics side of things, no...

@JoJo: I didn't stoop to a low level, nor did I give any misinformation.
Acting like this is the best thing to happen to gaming like many have been doing here is misinformation, which I'll happily correct.

Crimzon using old, poor quality screen grabs is BS, especially when accurate, Gamersyde footage shows differently.

I've played every Gears game, besides Judgement, I know about it's gunplay, it used to be nuanced, this just looks bas...

@JoJo: Yes Vertical Traversal, doesn't matter if it's gears, you can still have higher platforms to reach.
This looks slow and boring.
There's not even any destructible cover.

@Crimson: No it doesn't look good for a game running at 1080p 60FPS, it looks like a 360 game, running at that resolution and frame rate.
That screen isn't an accurate representation of what the MP of Uncharted looks like:

If it's an alpha build, then you call it an alpha, this is a beta, otherwise it shouldn't be called a beta.
Also if this is only an alpha now, then it would never be ready for release in October.
We're only about 5 months from when this should be ready to ship as a part of the game, since you need to be ready about a month before release date to get the game to the publishing house and print the discs out.

None of the below comments deal with the g...

It's a beta, hence why it's called the Multiplayer Beta.
This doesn't look great at all, the animations are very jerky, the textures are very low res, there isn't much geometry for an 8th gen game.
No dynamic physics or lighting effects either.

The gameplay looks very basic.
If I hadn't been told this was an XB1 game, then I would have thought it was an older 360 game, just running at a native 1080p.
Doesn't look very fl...

Hopefully some of the elements of the environments will be destructible.
I can understand why spaceships wouldn't be touched by a smaller vehicle like one of these mechs, but Human made buildings, designed to make up fixed cities, made of concrete should be destructible to some degree.

If there's no destruction then it needs to be for plausible reasons, not just because.

I like the possibility of Mechs being able to scale sky scrapers, smash c...

No Rod Fergusson said the MP would be 60FPS, he didn't say it would be 1080p 60FPS.
When asked he and others connected to the game have said the SP will be 1080p, the MP 60FPS, never that both would be 1080p 60FPS or that MP was 1080p 60FPS.

It's highly doubtful that the visuals will come close to the E3 2015 trailer footage at even 720p 60FPS, given how Halo 5 struggles with way lower end visuals, has dips below 60FPS and that has a native resolution close to...

Exactly and to answer the stupidity of that question, no Uncharted isn't losing it's identity, it's fully realizing it.

It's clear from the footage released today that Naughty Dog have gone balls deep into the 8th generation with this entry.
It looks not only visually stunning, but it also packs tonnes of logical gameplay additions to make this a true step above the past entries.

It looks amazing and I can't wait to play it!

Naughty Dog currently has over 300 people working there, I think where this belief comes from is when you make comparisons to other studio's projects, like Horizon: Zero Dawn, which has been confirmed to have around 150 people making it.
Bloodborne had half of From Software developing it, which is a studio with around 230 people.

Uncharted 2 was confirmed to have been finished by around 80 people, obviously requirements for staff numbers have increased, but if eve...

If Nintendo made games targeted at the western 3rd party market like a Souls, Perfect Dark or even Wave Race that would be cool to see on a Nintendo system.
I think those kinds of games, made for handheld system, that can stream footage to your TV and produce results around XB1 level or higher would gain interest for Nintendo again IMO.

I think the main reason why many people stopped buying Nintendo systems was because Nintendo didn't cater to people that grew up ...

Even without PS VR Sony has a slew of big AAA exclusives coming in 2016, PS4's basically at that moment when Sony's start to ramp up their output of exclusives and Microsoft doesn't seem to have very much at all in the way of exclusives that could turn attention back to the XBox One.

Gears 4 is likely going to release on PC, same for any of the major AAA exclusives that were promised as real exclusives for the system.

NX is sounding like it's ...

I've never had any doubts about either, especially Horizon, considering Guerrilla's recent history with hitting releases close to announcements.

It's clear that if they thought Horizon wouldn't release this year, then they wouldn't have announced it until E3 this year.
Same deal for The Last Guardian, there was no point in showing it on PS4 until a solid release window was known.

I'm highly doubtful that either will slip into 2...
