There's no reaching involved in my comments, I'm simply educating uninformed individuals such as yourself on the differences between different GPU manufacturer's architectures.
As for cost it's entirely feasible for Nintendo to assemble a system with that level of GPU Compute Performance, a 6 to 7 inch 1080p screen and everything else shown for $250.

You don't provide any evidence or logical deductions to refute what I'm saying in this reply...

If the rumors of switch using a 1tflop Maxwell gpu are true then it's going to be more capable than XB1, 1tflop current NVidia is basically 1.5tflops current AMD, compared to the 2012-13 AMD gpu tech in PS4 and XB1 switch could be pretty close to PS4, even if Nintendo Switch only hits around the 700gflops mark that could be enough for it to match XB1-S.

NVidia's flops aren't a direct 1 to 1 with AMD's, you only need to compare retail pc gpus to see this.

There's a major issue here that many naysayers are either unaware of or they choose to ignore and that is that you can't do a straight 1 to 1 comparison of compute performance between AMD and NVidia gpu architectures.
Pascal at 3.855tflops either matches or beats 5.8tflops in current AMD gpu architectures, NVidia Maxwell basically offers the same performance per flop compared to Pascal, it's just that Pascal is more power efficient largely because Pascal is made on a more...

No one knows exactly when TLOU part 2 will release yet, Uncharted 4 was meant to have been in development since 2011, but most of that work was scrapped when Amy Hennig left ND in early 2014 and a tonne of stuff was started from scratch.

ND have already laid the ground work for PS4 &Pro development, so their next games on the hardware likely won't take that long.

@UltraNova: Earlier this year it was said Naughty Dog had expanded to over 300 people, plus much like Guerrilla Games and other studios worldwide major AAA developers do outsource a lot of mundane asset work, hire temp staff that aren't listed in their roster of core employees for a variety of jobs that require large workforce numbers.

Middleware, tool creation and reusable software is likely shared and worked on by all of Sony's Worldwide Studios, to build on curre...

It's possible AA is removed in 4k mode and maybe some other tweaks were made to hit native 4K on the pro.
People shouldn't just look at the teraflop rating of pro, divide by the base ps4's rating and assume that's the only boost to processing performance, architectural improvements compared to the launch PS4 hardware could allow developers to optimize for 4K native on pro if they put in the development effort and depending on the kind of rendering techniques the game ...

Horizon seems like it's going to elevate Guerrilla to ND status with how much passion the studio has for their craft, I think Death Stranding is a ways off though, likely late 2018 at the earliest.

Sucker Punch are probably not the only studio with something in the works, From Software are rumored to be working on a simlar arrangement with Sony to Bloodborne, London never officially canceled 8 Days and The Getaway 3, plus Japan Studio are rumored (by legit sources that ...

Very true, it was a great show that shows why PlayStation are the top dogs again.
Even if half of what's slated for 2017 gets delayed in the next year it's still a packed line-up of games.

Great time to be a gamer indeed!

Agreed, that was an awesome show with or without ND's presence, they just elevated the event to another level.

Quite a lot of people who played the first game liked it and wanted a sequel, myself included.
It was reported that Knack 1 sold over 320,000 units in it's first 2 days of launch in Japan and the game is reported to have sold over a million units in it's first year worldwide, while not stellar numbers it's probably enough to show Sony that a better executed sequel is worth a punt.

TBH the first game has some obvious areas of Knack's back story/origi...

PSX is about developers bringing the games they want to show PlayStation fans, the developers of most of those games had already confirmed they're busy working on them.
This show is about showing the core why PlayStation is for them, which is why Sony, their devs and partners brought what they did this year.

Scott Rhode even said to Colin Moriarty that PSX isn't an e3 type show in an interview at the 2015 event, it's a service to the core PlayStation fa...

For one thing PSX is meant to be a thank you to PlayStation fans, so even without The Last of Us Part 2 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Sony bringing Ni No Kuni 2, Knack 2, the Crash remasters, Wipeout Collection, Parappa, etc, this was basically the end to PlayStation Year of Dreams: 2.

Sony trotted out yet more things PlayStation fans have been begging for since the PS1 & 2 days.
Greg Miller even got Patapon, which shows Shuhei Yoshida has been listening to t...

Competing in the same genre wouldn't necessarily damage Nintendo's chances of getting those 3rd party games on a Nintendo system, in fact sports games could be a way for Nintendo to lure the western 3rd party gamer back to Nintendo's hardware.

If Nintendo's own versions of realistic sports franchises sold well on Switch or other Nintendo systems then 3rd party publishers would see those kinds games can do well on Nintendo hardware and publish their own sport...

Sony don't own Crash, they never did.
As far as I recall Universal Interactive Entertainment held the rights to Crash, while Naughty Dog were bought by Sony, the Publisher didn't get the option to buy crash, Naughty Dog didn't even own Crash when they created it because UIE funded the game and ND were independent developers, but they needed funding.

Activision Blizzard gained the rights to everything from UIE when the merger of a bunch of classic, big p...

No it's not, proven by the fact that Phil even used the example of horsepower.
Horsepower actually has standards for defining it's level of force based on whether it's metric, imperial and those are measured at the output point (in the case of a car at the wheels that directly effects the speed that X amount of weight can be moved), X amount of imperial hp will have the same effect on moving the same amount of weight regardless of the engine's makeup, all units of imp...

Phil isn't a System Architect or Software Programmer/Developer, he would obviously get to see games and demos running on various pieces of hardware, but that doesn't mean he understands the intricacies of gaming hardware or how that relates to system output.

A teraflop by itself is pretty meaningless, processing architecture, overall system resources and development tools should be looked at in a holistic way to understand what the amount of flops really means for t...

@Kokyu: I'm a Playstation fanboy, haven't been a Nintendo one for years.
Pattens? LMFAO I think you mean Patents and there are umpteen things that companies patent which don't get used any products made by those companies, patents are just there to protect in party tries to use that idea and profit off of it.

Reggie has already called the system a home console, so it's not going to be what Eurogamer call it, that would be a portable or handheld system, I don't think Reg is the only one to call the system a console either.
Ubisoft have also said that NX brings Nintendo back into the race, they were never out of the handheld race, but they were out of the console race with the Wii U selling so much less than the competition.
No NX is going to be a home console at it's c...

@xDealwithIt: It's a fact that Tomb Raider has sold more on Playstation systems compared to Xbox, Spider-Man is another example of a franchise that sells significantly better on Playstation too, it's not ridiculous at all to think that Playstation would sell more copies of the game.

PS4 is outpacing Xbox One 2:1 globally and is also the biggest console brand for 3rd party title sales, so for anyone to think that this isn't an important factor for the likes of Ma...

Bigger audience is on Playstation, so yes it's bad when the under dog tries this kind of an anti-consumer move to keep a game off of the platform that made the franchise popular in the first place.
Spider-Man is the same deal, those games have always been more popular on Playstation consoles, so Sony were a natural choice for Marvel to make.

All companies try to use the exclusive angle to bolster sales, difference between Sony and Microsoft is they've actua...
