$399 is feasible if Neo has a 1TB HDD, considering that Neo will be using a more mainstream GPU as a part of it's design and 7970M was a far more niche part when PS4 launched it's possible that coupled with the reduction in space a 14nm 8 Core CPU would allow for over the 28nm one that PS4 used in the standard model that Sony could be laying less to make Neo's APU compared to what they paid at the launch of the PS4 and costs may not be much higher than the standard PS4's SOC i...

Yep, he leaked the design for the PS4 slim too.
It's possible the PSP like device could be a PS Vita refresh, but then again if Sony sees there's a market worth making a new handheld for they'll go for it.
Vita had major issues, like being expensive and using expensive proprietary memory cards, plus the lack of major titles or the kinds of games that made PSP successful did hamper it's sales potential, still even with it's issues the attach rate for softw...

Considering PS4 Neo is meant to have the equivalent of an RX 480 on the same die as it's CPU and that GPU can be clocked to over 6Tflops quite easily it's certainly technically possible for Sony to pack that level of performance into their box.

Most recent rumors from the Foxconn employee who leaked PS4 Slim's design state that Neo is 3CM taller than the launch PS4, which means Sony has a 50% bigger box than the launch machine, so they could handle 50% more powe...

@thunderbird86: Technically selling 6 million units doesn't make The Witcher 3 one of the most popular games, it's not even in the top 100 in sales, but still higher prices actually tend to turn people off of buying games, TW3 is a game that warrants having a higher price than many because of the level of content available in the game and the quality of it's production, yet it still doesn't need to cost $60 per game to make the development and marketing costs back or even make...

Not at all, considering The Witcher 3 (which is a massive game) cost $81M to develop and market, has sold over 6 million copies, even at it's current price of $34 on PS4 on Amazon selling 6M copies that adds up to a total revenue of $204M, the game could have made way more than that overall.
Take away the development and marketing costs for the title and it's made $123M in profit based on this hypothetical math.

Those involved in making games should make a ...

God of War was awesome, but so was Spider-Man, Days Gone, new gameplay for Horizon and Detroit.
Sony owned that show, just like the last one.

Sony are having an event, at least they've said they have an on a specific date, it's only 2 weeks away.
Slim isn't exactly the biggest deal, Neo's rumored to be there, along with what may be a new Playstation handheld device or another revision of Vita, but the slim PS4 is likely going to be the cheap model, with some cutback features to appeal to people that want something that simply plays PS4 games, the way people have seen the original PS4 play them.

IMO there is definitely a market for a dedicated handheld gaming device, it just has to be handled in a logical way that gives the audience that wants that kind of a device what they want.

Vita had major issues, like being expensive, having expensive memory cards (when a cheaper alternative was available), lack of support from 3rd party and also lacking the major kinds of games that you don't get on other handhelds, like getting versions of GTA, Gran Turismo, God of War...

The only reason those people will buy a 4K TV is because their HD Ready or 1080p model has stopped working, but they probably didn't feel the need to worry about the level of HD standard their TV has, to them it's just a TV and they can just play their games or watch whatever on it.

They're probably going to look at PS4 Slim and say "this is nice, cheap and slim, I can play PS4 games now with my mates" and they'll likely just buy a cheap replacemen...

As others have said this is clearly the cheaper and slimmer PS4, which will appeal to a wider range of people, Neo will likely be the premium console that offers more native 4K and HDR features.

If anything Sony trying to marketing the cheaper slim as some semi-premium device and having to mark up costs would make it less appealing for the people who likely don't have a 4K/HDR capable display anyway, that kind of technology is pointless, they just want a console that ca...

So no one has to click on the article and give them loads of clicks out of curiosity:

"Following images of the PlayStation 4 Slim leaking online this week, gamers around the world are once again lending an ear to Sony’s future console plans, which happens to include the future release of PlayStation 4K, codenamed: Neo.

The gaming industry would usually flock to such hardware with wallet in hand, and they probably will once Sony announce a launch wind...

Scorpio will manage 4K in games like Forza Horizon 2, Forza 5 and 6, but probably not Halo 5, Quantum Break or Dead Rising 3, because the latter aren't native 1080p all of the time or at all.

If a game starts out at 720p on XB1, then 1080p is already 2.25X more demanding compared to the original resolution.
We only have to look at the RX 480 tests to see why 4K isn't going to happen in every game.
Maybe if Microsoft are fine with developers using l...

I'm pretty sure this was one of the games that was rumored to get shown off when Neo is revealed and Sony have since confirmed they're having an event on September 7th this year in New York, an event that had it's date leaked recently, that person seems to have been validated with Sony confirming this event is happening.
That leaker also said that NX would get revealed by Nintendo the week after, things can change of course before announcements happen, but it seems pretty...

Yep, PC gamers will either be forced to either just not buy the game, which will mean drastically reduced software sales of PC versions of games or they'll pirate them, which is not what publishers want.

In the end I doubt EA and other 3rd party publishers will be willing to do that because it would mean diminished software sales.
Sure they may get increased revenue from the XBox/Windows versions that sell through the MS Store, but the drop off in revenue will ...

Nonsense, the PS4 certainly does have the deformation and it actually looks more detailed.
Sure this comparison clearly has the XB1 footage cranked up in brightness to make it look more washed out, but it's not surprising that the PS4 version would have say full 1080p real time cut-scenes where the XB1's run at 900p and also the visuals do look more crisp, with the frame rate looking smoother on the PS4.

Animations don't look as jerky on the PS4 version...

You don't know me or many others, so you don't know what I or anyone else would do and you didn't even explain why that would be the case either, you just made a statement without any kind of detailed explanation as to why that should make any kind of sense.

If the unit is sitting on a table in front of you, then it's actually able to either be laid flat on the table horizontally, so the screen is facing up at you, may cause problems for the user depending o...

I don't think it would be that small, because having that small of a form factor would effect the performance of the device, if Nintendo wants to accommodate a Tegra X1 or the successor to it's processor then there's no way that would run at any decent clock speed in a device that small.

Maybe it could be the size of an iPad Air Mini, but a bit thicker, quite a bit wider when you have the controls connected to it.

3603d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Why do you think that?
Having detachable controllers means you can put the unit on a table in front of you or sit it on your lap, rather than having to hold the whole thing to play your games or mess around with media content.
You can potentially have local multiplayer experiences anywhere you have power (be it the system's battery or mains connected away from home) if each unit can be used as a whole controller for a person, then you can pass one of the included control...

6TF is hardly a generational shift, plus there's the point of price and a lack of truly exclusive games for the thing.
Scorpio is likely to be a niche item and if people are really concerned about better performance they'll get a PC with even better specs for not much more money.

Xbox isn't the most popular platform, which will also play into which system people buy, since their friends aren't likely to be playing on XBox this generation.

ND are a bigger studio than when they started Uncharted 4, pretty sure they had like 200 people when TLOU 1 shipped, now they're at over 300.

They could have had 100 people in pre-production on their next project for over a year already, easily be ready to show off the next game at PSX or the VGAs this holiday, with an early 2018 release window as their target.
While I don't think the next game will necessarily be TLOU (with Bend's game being pretty sim...
