That concept art wasn't from anyone related to Sucker Punch or their new IP, apparently that art was from a VR title, which may or may not still be in production.
No one knows what Sucker Punch are working on besides those a Worldwide Studios.
We should hopefully learn about their game in a few days.
Anything higher than $449 is too much, considering the tech involved, but Microsoft can still make a marginal profit launching at $399.
This is a console with only 4 more Compute Units compared to PS4 Pro, plus 50% more GDDR5, a RAM that adds hardly anything to the retail cost of the RX4/580, plus MS were able to include a 1TB HDD and 4K Bluray Drive in XB1-S for $299.
The added GPU tech, RAM and cooling would easily fit into a $100 higher price than XB1-S.
GT Sport, Knack 2 and Uncharted The Lost Legacy are all 1st party, only Ni-Oh is externally developed, technically Nier Automata isn't exclusive because it's on PC.
So no the majority of Sony exclusives aren't 3rd Party, they're 1st Party, with one being 3rd Party.
XB1's launch price was a major factor they were slammed for, plus it included an unnecessary addition, Scorpio is simply a console and given the succes even Pro's achieved at $399 it would be a missed step to go higher.
PS3 isn't a recent console, it's clearly not in the running as a comparison.
I keep seeing people repeat this point, but it actually isn't accurate, given the costs of the materials that make up Scorpio, we're only talking about 50% mo...
If I recall correctly the rumored Monster Hunter PS4 exclusive was meant to be more targeted towards a western, action RPG crowd of gamers, could be Deep Down was reworked into this or maybe it's just a new entry in the series that will release on PS4, Switch, maybe Xbox and PC.
Best case scenario is it's a proper modern update, with more advanced, open world gameplay, with cool physics tech, weather effects, time of day transitions and nice visuals.

Given Microsoft's development resources are considerably more limited than Sony or Ninteno's it's to be expected that they would seek out 3rd party partners or external developers to help bolster the lineup.
Hopefully it's a new IP without any established bigger install base on a Sony or Ninteno console, I personally have no issues with new franchises going wherever the works been done.
SE would be stupid to put a major new entry in an established f...
Actually both versions of Tomb Raider sold more on PS4 compared to the XB1 versions, both Gravity Rush games have sold well for niche games, likely over a million a piece at this point, considering the resources required for each that's likely profitable and TLG has done considerably better than that. Not sure why you'd bring up those PS4, 1st party developed exclusives as games which you think should be multiplats, that's like saying Halo mainline games should be on everything, b...
Likely either CTR or a new Crash game or both.
Phil has also said Scorpio will have the same kind of price consoles have had in recent times, considering from a physical standpoint Scorpio is just a PS4 Pro, with 4 more Compute Units on it's GPU, 50% more GDDR5, a 4K Blu Ray drive and a slightly better cooling solution $399 is very likely the price to make MS a marginal profit, Sony can probably drop the Pro's price to $299 and make a few dollars.
It's premium from the perspective that hardcore fans and tech savvy cus...
Ok so the article says:
1)Low price for Scorpio of $399: Which is actually the logical launch figure and tbh PS4 Pro may retail for that now, but it could easily be dropped to $349 or $299.
2)New Exclusive IPs: Considering Sony already has Bloodborne, The Order, Until Dawn, Knack, Horizon and Ni-Oh out, with Days Gone, Dreams, Detroit, Death Stranding, Deep Down revealed, still to be released and Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, Sony Japan, Sony London, North West Studio...
Actually Sony has a tonne of development resources which are still yet to announce what they've been working on, despite having marketing partnerships with all of the biggest Fall titles Sony's own confirmed list of exclusives is larger.
I'm not sure how you can say you've been there and done that in the same sentence as one where you're saying major games will get never before seen gameplay, story and character details, likely a slew of release dates too, you'...
Definitely!!
It seems so obvious what could be done with a sequel and it could progress the series forward.
The potential for an Uncharted 1 to 2 or 1 to 4 style jump in gameplay expansion is pretty clear IMO, the setting is awesome, the devs just need to remove the the boundaries, add optional pathways through levels, expand the story, include a co-op and multiplayer set within the game's locations.
Tonnes of possible things that could be done to rede...
Actually Sony has a tonne of data from PS3, they would know the percentage of game time spent on BC vs Current Generation software and since their data would cover a full generation's worth of users it's probably a more accurate representation of gaming tastes.
If the average gamer spends on average 2 hours per night (not an unrealistic figure), over 365 days of the year, across 30 Million XB1 users, MS would see 21,480 million hours spent gaming on XB1, if 40,000 m...
Actually it proves Sony are right when they say a tiny portion of users actually end up using Backwards Compatibility. If XB1 has 30 million users and the average overall play time is 2 hours per night, each night, of a full 365 days per year then 21,840 Million hours would be spent on the console per year, overall hours gaming since BC launched on XB1 will be higher than that 1 year period.
The total time spent could be 40 Billion hours by now or higher.
500 milli...
This is very likely releasing this Fall, it will have had 3 years in development by October and Insomniac Games have been very good at getting their games out of the door. Sunset Overdrive only took them 3 years to make and that was a completely new IP, which they had to build a new Game Engine for.
With Spidey the studio have had access to a library of comics, cartoons, games and movies for inspiration, plus a direct relationship with Marvel.
God of War has also h...
Technically it's profits and losses that investors care about, plus knowing how the company you're investing in compares to another which is providing a similar product. The volume of hardware, software and overall subscriptions to online gaming services is important information, which Microsoft's investors don't have for Xbox One, it's pretty underhanded to keep avoiding giving specific details for years without end.
Tbh small games don't require th...
This figure is meaningless without knowing how many hours the total install base of the system actually spends gaming on it each year or an average across the whole platform.
If half of all XB1 owners spend on average 1 hour a night, 5 days per week, 52 weeks per year gaming and the system's sold 30 million units, then 12.8% of all XB1 game time is spent on Backwards Compatible games.
Microsoft probably wouldn't give out those numbers because it would give away the s...
Exactly, as I posted to Nintendo4Lifex above if Nintendo ported the games listed in my initial post and sold on average 3 million copies for $40 a piece it could generate them $1B in revenue, the profits made from that could pay for dozens of new games for Switch.
Porting or remastering a load of Wii U games would cost a fraction of the money and time of a single new AAA game, it makes no sense to not do it when Switch would likely move more than double the units of those g...
@Nintendo4Lifex: You clearly care, otherwise you wouldn't have taken the time to post a reply to my comment.
Nintendo would also care, given the likes of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold so well on Switch, hell Switch will likely beat Wii U's entire lifetime's worth of sales in it's 1st year and Nintendo porting most or all of those games over to Switch will only increase the incentive to buy it.
New games are going to be made regardless, the time and r...
Yeah so I was wrong about the price, Microsoft must be adding a pretty big margin on this thing, because the SoC has only got a GPU 11% bigger than Pro's, even with a vapor chamber cooling solution or 50% more GDDR5, a 4K Bluray Drive and power refinements on the Motherboard components, releasing a year after Sony, with a $100 increase over Pro's pricepoint makes no sense.
Sony could probably drop PS4 Pro's price down to $349 and still make a decent profit in th...
