Izzat... Izzat Sexy April O' Neil?
I think that would be a step in the right direction, too. Bring in a new writer for DLC with a really different feel to it, just like with the GTA4 DLC. Then, do whatever you want with GTA5 with what you've learned.
Why all the extremes? Narrative-wise, Rockstar needs a new angle, possibly for DLC or the next in the series. Having a female protagonist would, by nature, make how a story plays out pretty different, and draw in newcomers to the series regardless of gender because it's actually something new in GTA.
This doesn't have to be about overarching inequality issues. Writing-wise, it could be cool, and that's it.

That's kinda amazing, and it should happen.
Those FFXIII games were legacy productions. Let's hope that Tabata taking over FFXV does the trick, because Crisis Core sure was awesome, and he made that.
@BabyObama
YES. The soundtrack is awesome - actually, all three soundtracks are great. The games are just not enjoyable to me at all, but playing those tunes in Theatrhythm? Much better.
Yeah, Bayonetta is contentious. For example, another person in this vein of criticism, Brianna Wu, absolutely loves Bayonetta. Heck, the mention of Bayonetta 2 on Isometric broke her out of depression for a bit. The women I know who have played it have loved it, but then again, I know some pretty awesome women.
Based on the curation list, I'd say she's pretty narrative-driven - which is slightly different from having a fleshed-out world or even a great story.
She's got stuff on there that I love - Beyond Good and Evil, for instance - and stuff I can't get into - Sword and Sworcery, which... ugh, those controls... and that pathfinding...
I don't mind, she's trying to put together a list for people who like her videos. It's certainly not ...

The lack of a direct consumer market doesn't affect the rights of the owners of the IP. To use another person's (or company's) IP means getting permission from the rights holder, which often, but not always, involves a clearance fee.
The only times where this doesn't apply are in the case of parody, criticism, significant transformation, or some very specific educational reasons, but even those are only a legal defense, Fair Use, that can be brought up in cour...
Huh. I thought that was a Mega Man Legends cover at first, but nope. He's still there, in the background:

If you call it a "fault" really, then yeah, it is. I think Sears saw this coming for a long time - they're not making a good margin on games, and people aren't by default coming into their stores anymore. Their showpiece in the games retail industry was the amount of unique, playable demos on their big-screen CRT TVs, and live in-store demos just aren't what they used to be.
Another big problem is that lesser-known outlets for games are really suffering ...
Yup. It's the end of a long-overdue era! I remember playing SNES and Sega Saturn games in Sears, and it's the only place I got to play Panzer Dragoon back then.
Also, I remember when they were really into the CD-i, hehe.
Hmmm. I think the rise of Twitch and the Amazon acquisition were pretty important, too--probably more surprising and important in 2014 than the #5 presented here. How many of us are watching Street Fighter or Mahvel or Smash tournaments with the same attention that our parents watched their team's football games? Livestreaming is yet another emerging technology that first got its grounding in videogames, and it's getting HUGE.
I see what you did there, and it was awesome. Nostalgia Critic needs to bring Bison back into the fray.
Nice.
Also, I certainly hope I'm still a gamer if I play Ridiculous Fishing or Threes or Hearthstone, because those and other mobile games are freaking great.
BBC ran a study finding 40% of MMORPG gamers were female, which is pretty substantial. Anecdotally, when my gaming friends who are women are talking about playing games, it's usually WoW, CoD, Destiny, and Assassin's Creed... so basically, the biggest and most marketed games out there. If you want to get into tabletop games, they play Magic quite a bit.
Not surprised at Dragon Age either, CP. Plenty of DA:O fans out there who are women.
Man, I'm not heckling Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U nearly as much as I'm lamenting the fact that it's the only reason I'd want that system at the moment...
Um, come on, guys. You know what this announcement is. North American release for the New Nintendo 3DS. Followed by a few game announcements including the English version of Xenoblade on the new portable.
Please, Nintendo, do NOT screw this up. Keep the colored Super Famicom button design from Japan!
@NuggetsOfGod
It's probably not going to compare to Vita for you. The screens still aren't up to that kind of resolution regardless of the new computing power.
However, if you like your 3DS, I'd look into it. The loading times are far quicker, the controls are better, and the 3D has a much more solid implementation.
