These stories only resemble each other because Konami's games division is a dying nightmare at the moment...
Yeah. I was excited to see those names attached, and then I saw the Compile Heart logo and was immediately let down. Keep in mind that these guys have been making mobile stuff as freelancers too, people.
Are these games better because they're on board? Absolutely. Have they been anything near what they used to make? Of course not. And this game has yet another impenetrable, mangled title, suggesting there's no attempt to make this thing appeal outside of Compile Heart...
Oy. Tried to install it this morning, it threw me an error message. Redownloaded, same error message. Stability indeed. Now I can't even be signed in to PSN until this thing installs. And I just bought MKX...
I've been shaped by modern abbreviations. I read this as "PS4 as f***."
Oh wow. I thought that bug was a choice by the developers to make it more difficult, but lo and behold, it's a framerate thing. That's good - I hate the degradation mechanic in general. Considering getting this one after playing so much Bloodborne (and original DS2 on PC before that).
I do kinda see this as problematic, too. I'd rather not encourage more remasters and instead encourage Japanese developers to make new, good games. Not all of those need to be graphical showpieces - heck, they could use PS2-style graphics at 1080p - but they need to have an interesting story with broader appeal than "This game is about a clothing designer" or whatever Atelier Such-and-Such is about this time.
I mean, we haven't seen a Chrono game since Cross...
And fill in the gap before the game's final stage, too. It seriously goes from character building mid-game to bam, final level.
That and airships need to be actual airships and not a menu system. Sure, that's a tough undertaking, but they have some resources to throw around!
Konami's really looking like the new Atari at this point. Throw out the creators, burn bridges, protect and possibly outsource IP, call it a day...
At least they have all kinds of other shady parts to their business.
YES. Considering you can share your gameplay with Twitch, it's astounding that they don't have app support. I want to watch Smash tournaments on there!
Holy moly. The idea of M2 putting Gunstar Heroes in 3D is amazing. Radiant Silvergun next? I can dream, at least.
Wow, it only took them about 20 years to figure this one out... Awesome, guys, maybe you'll become the next 1990's SuperPotato by 2030...
@breakpad
Yes, why create human characters in games that have human attractions? They're all just code, after all. Let's do away with blood, while we're at it, and replace potions with thermal paste.
Yes - honestly, if I'm getting Disgaea, I want to be able to play it on demand for maybe one encounter, and then jump to something else, so it seems more at-home on digital.
Man, why can't anyone spell Yharnam right? It's Lovecraftian, not a forum you'd find on Ravelry.
Anyway, I agree with the author. Bloodborne is great on the merits of its visual and sound design alone, even if you're not a fan of that kind of white-knuckle punishing gameplay. It's a lot like a good Guillermo del Toro movie - it's all atmosphere and gruesome, original artwork - the plot and the acting are secondary to the design, but you may also love ...
What's much more important is the profit on either side of Bloodborne's creation. They didn't have to pay nearly as much for things like voice acting, marketing, cross-platform production, etc. They did go big on artwork and assets, though, that's for sure. It's one of the first games where I said "I bet the concept art for this game looks just like what I'm seeing right now while playing it."
Did their expenditures outweigh their revenue? I&...
Japan has some amazing April Fool's jokes today, including Daigo Umehara becoming an accountant and using a modified fightstick as a calculator, and a giant selfie stick that protrudes from your crotch. If they're doing April Fool's at Konami, it's not unprecedented.
Axiom Verge doesn't wait for a sale, man. That game is awesome and worth the price.
Huge fan of Assetto Corsa here, and I think Gran Turismo still has its place.
There's a lot of UI and polish stuff that Polyphony can do that a smaller company like Kunos can't, and while GT might not be as detailed in how each individual car works, Polyphony can offer a huge selection of cars in a short amount of time. I'll race one car for a long time in AC because each one's so different, but in GT I can get a much larger range of cars.
I b...
The video looks great, though. Seems like a smooth 30fps, which for Souls games I'm okay with. Very Souls-ish, too, from the boss health bar fonts to the music. They aren't hiding their roots.

You haven't been on this site for very long, have you? ;)
