Agree about Gears in general but in this demo, the muscle textures on the COGS don't look high quality and the arms are out of proportion. The voice acting is kind of weak too. don't know how early or late this demo was. Other gameplay footage looks and sounds better.
Neither console it tapped out. PS3 clearly has more top-end potential but I doubt a large percentage of developers actually get close. Just like PCs. Other than the OS, hardly anything is multithreaded though quad cores are commonplace now.
The Xbox has 3 CPU cores that probably aren't being fully utilized and the PS3 has all the SPUs that developers are just figuring out.
I don't buy movies either. I bought all my favories and then it just fizzled. One, there's not that many great movies and 2, Netflix and other streaming.
I also don't pay cable anymore thanks to OTA HDTV. 1080i w/Dobly Digital 5.1 for free. Granted, I only get 16 channels but it's all the Network stuff I want. Hell, I actually like watching Hockey now. It's a different experience in 1080i HD. That combined with Windows Media Center for DVR and Netflix re...
It's a good business model for them. I just don't like it. Better have this, and not buy anymore, than buy the whole game and be disappointed. Thus far Fable has not lived up to the hype for me. I did the episodes with Fable II and I'm glad I didn't buy the whole thing.
When will someone make a really good Fantasy RPG based on true D&D? Turn-based even. Must be too hard or the market too little.
Not sure I get the point, unless you're trading in a fat for a slim. Or, unless Microsoft is subsidizing this. Trade in your PS3, get a new Xbox 360S for $99. OK, I'm taking the tin foil hat off.
Do they have to work I wonder? I have two that don't play BD anymore. Games yes, movies no.
Edit: I don't have them, nephew does. But I can take them.
I actually haven't played WipeoutHD or Fury online yet. Haven't finished either single player campaign. The only game I can't enjoy without being online is Poker.
I gotcha unwanted. What I'm saying is, clearly, PSN is the winner in the free service area. Since you can't go online for free w/XBL. But for $50/yr, I don't think the PSN service is worth it with the missing feature.
Of course, this is ethnocentrism. I've already enjoyed the performance and features of XBL for 2 years before switching to Playstation. If Sony stopped allowing free online play, would I pay? No, I'd go back to XBL having experienced both. ...
Not sure how you conclude that I only have a console for chat. We're talking about the two online services. And I told you the things I want in a paid online service. The things I mentioned, not betas, demos, wallpaper, minis or anytyhing else. I'd rather pay $19.99 for WipeoutHD and $50 for an online service with all the thigns I mentioned. Especially since I can keep the game if I decide I don't want to pay the monthly fee anymore. I like to own my content, period.

Would rather have consistent invite system. Ability to block/mute/report users on-the-fly. User ratings. Parental control. ESPN. MS' implementation of Netflix. XGame Chat, Private Chat, Party Chat.
I don't need no demos, betas, minis, wallpaper or anything else. Especially anything that stops working when I stop paying.
I'd buy it for myself and several others just to say thanks and show support.
Yes Halo is overrated. Any game that has Lizard men is overrated in my book.
It's fun-factor with regards to MP is not overrated. It's not my cup of tea and I enjoyed it for a while.
The only thing that can save Rare is Killer Instinct, and not a Kinect version. Rare is almost totally irrelevant now. All-in, KI for the win or bust.
And all FPS' are cheap knock-offs of Wolfenstein 3D?
...
Who's to say what the right decision was. Including wifi is clearly cheaper now than then. Remember, Sony's high price did a great deal of damage to their sales. You might even say, that's why Xbox has the lead it has.
I bought the adapter too. That's why I'm not rushing out to buy an S. Check my last blog.
But companies do have to make money or they won't be able to produce the games and consoles we like to play with. I just ask them ...
Best game is subjective. Even if I agree it's the prettiest, I personally enjoyed Resident Evil 5 more.
Also, beautiful graphics are subjective as well, but there's no denying the great art in Uncharted 2.
I can agree with that. It probably is the best looking game of its type.
Will it be too late by then? A huge part of marketing is building demand. Not just announcing it's on the shelf now.
Yeah, without guns they use machetes. Guns are probably the more humane. Just about anything you buy supports war, terrorism somewhere else. Diamonds, gold, oil, chocolate (cocoa), etc. The ultimate responsibility lies with those pulling the trigger or swingin' the machete.
