Unfortunately, content is easier and cheaper to deliver than technical infrastructure.
Missing Blu-ray isn't as big as it could have been, but still missing. Downloads, streaming, and $89 full featured players have made it not such a big deal and games haven't exploited it (except FF XIII and who cares).
No Blu-Ray also means no High Definition Audio. That's all that's missing.
EDIT: Though I think it's great and will trade-in my Elite to buy one, probably should have gotten 8/10. -1 for Proprietary Hard Disk. Sony set the s...
"but it has been proven before that it isn't really needed"
It has? Proven? Proven?
The extended 3-year warranty is ONLY for RROD. Anything else breaks and its out of warranty.
Did you say Amiga? Then I say Obliterator!!!
Average cost of a 16GB flash drive is $35. For $60 you should be getting hardware-based encryption or an LED display of capacity on it.
Gotta pay for the paint job.
Actually if they make a $149 360S add a cheap 16GB USB Drive and you have a pretty good deal. Especially if you're primarily a causal gamer (XBLA).
I would imagine it's as good as any other FPS. It's an XBLA downloadable so one shouldn't expect MW2.
Just goes to show how FPS have become an assembly line commodity.
Games I'll be buying used but would not otherwise buy:
MGS4
Demon Souls
LBP (bought)
Heavy Rain (still doubtful)
Games I've bought and will trade in:
GOW III
LBP (bought used)
Games I bought and will keep:
Uncharted 2
Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
Many downloadables
EDIT - Games I plan to buy new:
Madden 11
NBA 2...
$17, I might give it a spin.
Since going PS3 this year Uncharted 2 lived up to hype, GOW III did not, guess there's one more I need to try before my XBox gets back, MGS4.
Guess they never heard of Dungeons & Dragons. Problem in, no one can faithfully recreated the experience in a game. Instead they do cat people and giant chickens. No Americans don't love cat people and giant chickens.
After all these years, I'm convinced no one will ever have the skill or resources to bring the D&D experience to consoles.
Just take a D&D Module and digitize it with Diablo III graphics and implement turn-based.
Most people have Dells, Acers, and HPs from best buy. Only the highest end machines deliver consistent console-like gaming performance. Then there's the lack of decent wireless controllers and no offline multi-player to speak of.
If most people could upgrade their PCs we wouldn't have geek squad and all those ... people.
PC Gamers cannot go online for free. They have to have an ISP.
What library of free games are you referring to?
Two things, Ice-Ts character will improve the acting and did I see Gears 3 steal RE5's equipment sharing/thank you implementation?
Both platforms have their hardcore markets hook line and sinker. Growth will come from which one can steal more of the Nintendkids.
You make good points about UC2, especially the AI. That was its biggest weakness. But the execution and production values were a cut above. No game is perfect and Gears is no different. Basically the same game with new models and maps.
Not only that, the voice acting gets worse with each release. Gears 1 was top notch and it has declined since. The voice acting in the clip you posted is horrid. I'm looking forward to Gears 3 but I won't finish it if the voice acting i...
Interesting comment. I believe there is a drought as well. Sequels and @#%$$% FPS' which are the same game with different textures and sound effects.
If this trend continues, PSN and XBLA games will become more prominent. If that happens, then, PS+ might have the upperhand.
FPS has killed game creativity. UC2 was a breath of fresh air.
I don't mind the refresh. All things evolve. But the fact that the wireless controller is still at Best Buy for $99, ludicrous, criminal, predatory. Someone do something.
The whole site looks like a SPAM Email. You've won the lottery in Uganda.
They wouldn't have to scale anything back for GOW III. I have it and was underwhelmed. Uncharted 2 is another story. It's hard to say if 360 could easily do it. I'm pretty sure it can, UC2 wasn't didn't raise the bar "that" high technically. XBOX core just like different games. The games they like wouldn't perform well with UC2 quality graphics and animation. Too much going on on screen at one time.
Could either console handle Halo or Crackdo...
